Handheld Showdown: Steam Deck, Switch 2, ROG Ally — which console gets your vote?
Given the popularity of handheld gaming videos on Tom's Guide's YouTube channel, we're launching a new limited series called Handheld Showdown. In Handheld Showdown, my colleague Paul Antill and I compare handheld devices and let you pick which ones move forward in the bracket. Matches include the Lenovo Legion Go S versus the Asus ROG Ally, the original Steam Deck versus the Steam Deck OLED, and more!
Make sure to watch the first episode embedded above and vote for which console moves on! Here are the match-ups you can expect to see and vote on in the coming weeks.
Handheld Showdown's bracket of eight was determined by our audience's ranks and input from our gaming experts.
Now, we need your help to decide which four will move on to the semi-final round. That will lead us to the final two devices, and of course, the grand champion.
Here are the matches, so please vote for the gaming handheld you think should win in each match-up:
This is arguably the strangest match-up we have, given how these machines serve different audiences. That said, they are both handhelds, and their differences make them ideal for specific people. Do you want a robust gaming library or are you more interested in playing Nintendo games?

The Steam Deck OLED might seem like the easy winner here since it has a fancier panel, but the original Steam Deck shouldn't be overlooked since it still provides great value. Choosing between Steam Decks isn't as easy as it looks!
The Lenovo Legion Go S is the first non-Valve gaming handheld with SteamOS, which certainly gives it a distinct advantage over other devices. However, the original Asus ROG Ally, with its ability to play almost all Windows 11 games, is still a fan-favorite.
The Lenovo Legion Go is the most unique Windows handheld in this contest due to its large size and removable controllers. That said, the MSI Claw 8 AI+ and its Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU offer better performance than its aging AMD-powered rival.
So those are the match-ups we'll have for Handheld Showdown!
After you've voted, make sure to share this story with the folks in your gaming circles so that the best picks move on. Also, come back next week to vote on the semi-finals round!

Apple reportedly releasing new Apple TV 4K this fall — here's all the upgrades
Apple is set to release a new Apple TV 4K model later this Fall, according to a new report from MacRumors. The report claims an unnamed source revealed that Apple is "highly likely" to update its streaming box before the end of 2025. Additionally, the current model will be discontinued. The Apple TV 4K debuted in 2022 and featured an A15 Bionic chip, HDR10+ support, plus a new Siri Remote with USB-C charging. Apple has traditionally updated its streaming device every three years. Unlike the yearly iPhone, we haven't come across many rumors or leaks regarding the updated Apple TV. Here's what we do know so far. Most rumors have tied the streaming device to Apple's delayed smart home push that was supposed to kick off with a new HomePod 3, which also might still launch in late 2025. The Apple TV would be able to integrate via a smart display or be controlled by the smarter HomePod. It will likely feature a newer chip, possibly the A19 that will go in the iPhone 17 or maybe the current A18 processor. It's supposed to have support for Wi-Fi 7 and an Apple-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip, part of helping it sync with smart home devices better. Some wilder ideas include Apple introducing a built-in camera to the box, which was teased by tvOS 17, adding a FaceTime app. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. There were also rumors that Apple is building its own OLED TV, despite shelving a similar idea years ago. Last year, it was reported that Apple might release an upgraded but less expensive version of Apple TV, which would sell for under $100, about $30 less than the 64GB Apple TV currently available. Currently, the rumor mill has Apple releasing the new device in a wide window between September and December of this year. It's possible it could debut during the September iPhone 17 launch event or shuffle out on its own later in October when Apple typically releases the newest MacBooks. 'The Worst Movie Of 2025': Ice Cube's War Of The Worlds Hits 0% On Rotten Tomatoes
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links. It's rare for a piece of entertainment to bring the entire internet together anymore. Usually, there's some contrarian corner of the web ready to defend even the most maligned release — or to tear apart something that's being widely praised. But when it comes to the new "War of the Worlds" adaptation (did we even need another one?) that's now available on Prime Video and starring Ice Cube, let's just say that it's uniting critics and audiences in a way that you hardly ever see anymore, with most agreeing that this is easily the worst movie of 2025. Where to even begin with this one: Much of it consists of Ice Cube reacting to disaster scenes playing out on a computer screen. The Amazon product placement in the movie, from delivery drivers to drones to gift cards, is so overt it's cringe-worthy. The movie's tagline ("It's worse than you think") works on multiple levels, and the bottom line is that there's no mystery at all as to why this "War of the Worlds" version is currently sitting on a 17% Rotten Tomatoes audience score and a 0% critics' score. Obviously, it begs the question: How did this get made? Read more: 59 New Movies Are Now Streaming On Prime Video - Here Are 3 Worth Watching Amazon's War Of The Worlds Is The Alien Disaster Nobody Asked For From its early-2000s Syfy Channel visuals to its Amazon-heavy plot, this "War of the Worlds" is being described by Rotten Tomatoes reviewers as "psychotic," "pointless," and "a career low" for everyone involved. Needless to say, Ice Cube isn't able to salvage what one Letterboxd user has described as a "screenlife fever dream that feels like it was written by someone featured on 'Doomsday Preppers'." It's not just bad. It's bad in a way that arguably ought to offend audiences, that a company would think so little of you it assumes you'll make time to watch this. As one YouTube commenter summed up perfectly: "When the star of 'Hunger Games' hates your movie, you know you messed up." Prime Video may have banked on star power (the cast also includes Eva Longoria and Clark Gregg) and a nostalgic title, but instead, they've unleashed a cultural event so bad that the internet can't stop talking about it. Audiences on Rotten Tomatoes have torn into it with ferocity: "Possibly the worst film I've ever tried to watch, did they just call it in whilst sat at home on a rainy Sunday?" "Were the actors paid in free Prime memberships?" "Nothing makes sense... You need an IQ below potato to not start laughing at every attempt made by the writers." My favorite zinger, though, comes from this YouTube commenter: "It's rare I miss the logic and clear thinking of the 'Sharknado' movies." Because, obviously — when a movie manages to make people nostalgic for "Sharknado," you know something's gone so wrong. Read the original article on BGR.

Chase Daniel breaks down training camp film of Broncos QB Bo Nix
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has been honing his craft in preparation for the 2025 NFL season, and the experts are taking notice. Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel recently attended Broncos training camp alongside The Athletic's Diana Russini, and he was pleasantly surprised with the progress Nix has shown from 2024 to now. "I'm telling you, Bo Nix looks excellent," Daniel said on his YouTube channel. "He's ready to make a huge jump into year two." In his eight-minute assessment of Nix, Daniel complimented Nix's quick footwork, crisp passes on both downfield and intermediate throws and his improved mechanics after working with throwing guru Tom House. For example, at one point while looking at a clip of Nix taking a dropback, Daniels remarked, "That's the quickest five-step drop you could possibly take." As a former quarterback himself, Daniel then took viewers through why he likes what he sees. "I like these type of drills; this is really cool. (It is) a little peek under the hood of how things are made in a perfect throw," said Daniel. Daniel reviewed about 10 throws from Nix, showing how his game has taken a dramatic step forward going into 2025. "I am bullish on the Denver Broncos," said Daniel. "I think they have everything they need." Fans will get their first look at Nix's growth when Denver takes on the San Francisco 49ers in their preseason opener on Saturday (view the full preseason schedule).
