PSG Champions League hero has house burgled just hours after lifting trophy - as police arrest two suspects after catching them 'red-handed'
A Paris-Saint Germain star had his house broken into as he celebrated winning the Champions League at the weekend. PSG won Europe's premier competition for the first time on Saturday night as they dismantled Inter Milan in Munich, winning 5-0 to lift the trophy and trigger scenes of rife celebration inside the Allianz Arena. A number of stars received praise in the fallout of the game, but Luis Enrique's midfield trio was largely lauded as the best in the competition throughout the campaign. It was a midfield that featured former Wolves star Vitinha, as well as Joao Neves. The third man in the dynamic trio was Fabian Ruiz, who joined the club from Napoli in 2022. Ruiz played a key role in his side's success, but had his home in Paris ransacked by burglars in the aftermath of his achievement in a different country. The 29-year-old had returned to Paris with the squad to embark on a celebration parade on the streets of Paris on Sunday, but, just a day later, his home was broken into before two arrests were made. The alarm system in Ruiz's house alerted police, who raced to the scene and arrested two suspects while they were still at the property. A police source told Le Parisien: 'We found the player's home in total disorder. 'The two minors had rummaged through every room before we caught them red-handed.' The incident came amid unrest in the French capital following PSG's success in Europe on Saturday night. A teenager was stabbed to death and 426 people were arrested during intense nationwide violence. Police reported riots and looting as the club beat Inter Milan in Munich, Germany, in the final of the Champions League on Saturday night. One of the worst incidents took place in Dax, in the south-west of France, where a 17-year-old was knifed in the stomach. Ruiz, meanwhile, is not the first PSG player to have suffered a break-in during his time at the club. Defender Willian Pancho had his house burgled in March when he was on international duty with Ecuador, and Angel Di Maria suffered the same fate in 2021 while a PSG player.

Robert MacIntyre staying positive ahead of RBC Canadian Open
June 3 - Robert MacIntyre is seeing signs that his game is starting to come back around. MacIntyre will look to continue trending in a positive direction this week when he defends his RBC Canadian Open title at TPC Toronto. The 28-year-old left-hander from Scotland captured his maiden PGA Tour title last season in his 45th career PGA start, with his father as his fill-in caddie to boot. Currently 20th in the Official World Golf Ranking, MacIntyre recorded a T6 at the Charles Schwab Challenge and a T20 at The Memorial. "Look, the last two weeks have been pretty good for me," he said Tuesday. "Starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. It's not been kind of easy sailing for me this year. It's been a little bit of trying to fix certain things. But now I feel like we're on the right path and the game's starting to kind of merge together." That said, MacIntyre opted to reminisce a bit after venturing to Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Ontario. "I went and played Hamilton yesterday with my dad with two of the members at Hamilton," he said. "We had a nice day yesterday to try and kind of relive the memories and enjoy what we achieved, to be honest with you. It was something special that I probably will never do again in my life. Obviously I had my dad on the bag. But we went there and just hung out for four or five hours and just enjoyed everyone's company." Although MacIntyre has endured his fair share of struggles this year, that doesn't mean the two-time PGA Tour winner is completely down on his game. "Look, life's been good," he said. "Last year I struggled a little bit with the adjustments of life on the PGA Tour, but this year it's been more -- almost more golf, it's just golf-related, to be honest with you. Tee to green, I've been really good. Chipping has not been the best. Not that I've got a problem, it's just I'm chipping on grainy greens that I'm not used to. I'm used to bentgrass. .".. To be honest, right now my game's in a great spot again, and I'm looking forward to what's ahead." --Field Level Media

Warriors have to be 'calm & ruthless' against Leinster
Nigel Carolan is urging cool heads and a "ruthless" streak as Glasgow Warriors bid to defy the odds against Leinster in the URC semi-final in Dublin on champions Glasgow made a strong start to the play-offs with a 36-18 home win over Stormers last weekend, but haven't won away to Leinster since 2019."We scored some cracking tries [against Stormers] even though we didn't have a massive amount of the ball. What it did show is that when we did get chances, we were pretty ruthless," said Glasgow assistant coach Carolan."It's what you need this time of the season as you approach the quarter and semi-finals."Every opportunity counts and it's important that you take those chances when they come about."The thing about Leinster, they really limit the chances that you do get. So, whatever we can create, it's important that we're nice and cool."Our mindset has got to be ruthless, but also nice and calm and composed, so we can execute them."Carolan insists Glasgow are unburdened by the 52-0 shellacking they suffered against Leinster in Dublin in the Champions Cup last month."It's history now," he added. "Look, we've played them since [losing 13-5 in the final game of the URC regular season], so I think what we turned up with the last time we played them is a bit more us."I think what we saw on Friday night against the Stormers was more us again. We're building nicely, we've definitely got a bit of the mojo back from where we were."It's important that we got into this weekend on the back of a good performance last Friday and there's a lot of confidence we can take from it."
