Spencer Schwellenbach stymies Red Sox on 25th birthday in Braves' 5-0 victory
ATLANTA (AP) — Spencer Schwellenbach struck out 11 in 6 1/3 innings on his 25th birthday to help the Atlanta Braves beat the Boston Red Sox 5-0 on Saturday.
Schwellenbach (4-1) allowed five hits and didn't walk a batter. He rebounded against the Red Sox after giving up a grand slam to Rafael Devers in a 10-4 loss May 18 in Boston.
Schwellenbach has gone six-plus innings in four consecutive starts and it was the ninth time in 12 starts he's made it into at least the sixth inning this season.
Ronald Acuña Jr. and Austin Riley hit fourth-inning home runs off Walker Buehler (4-3).
Buehler allowed five earned runs on 10 hits with two walks and six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings.

The Braves scored four runs in fourth to take a 5-0 lead. It was just the third time since May 5 the Braves have scored at least four runs in an inning.

At that point, Rodón realized he needed to evolve in some way. One change he made was to his pitch arsenal. For most of his career, Rodón was known for just his fastball and slider. However, he has been able to add three new pitches: A curveball, a sinker, and a changeup. To most, that would seem difficult for a pitcher, let alone one who has been in the league for several years. But that is where Rodón's mental fortitude shone. 'I don't give up. I never really have,' Rodón said, 'it's just not in my nature.' That attitude helped him become a better player, and it has shown. Now with his new pitching repertoire, Rodón has had a stellar start to the season. He has the fewest Hits per nine innings in the American League. MLB sees double-digit viewership increases in US and Japan
NEW YORK (AP) — Major League Baseball's viewer numbers in the United States and Japan during the first two months of the season have seen double-digit increases, MLB and Nielsen reported Tuesday. ESPN's coverage is up 22%, averaging 1.74 million viewers. It is the most-watched season on ESPN through the first two months since 2017. This might be the last year ESPN is carrying baseball after it opted out of its rights deal in February. The MLB Tuesday package on TBS has a 16% increase. Fox Sports is up 10%, averaging 1.84 million viewers per game. Last Saturday night's 18-2 rout by the Los Angeles Dodgers over the New York Yankees averaged 2.2 million on Fox. The streaming package has seen its viewers increase 27%, with more than 7.5 billion minutes watched through Monday. Games on the NHK channels in Japan are averaging 2.7 million. The average does not include the Tokyo Series games between the Dodgers and Chicago Cubs which began the regular season. The ratings are on pace for MLB's most-watched regular season in Japan as the audience has increased every year since 2021. On streaming viewership has increased 27% vs 2024, which was the most-watched season in the history of the service. Colorado's Boulder Jewish Community Center provides resources to community after attack
The Boulder Jewish Community Center is offering resources to the Colorado community after Sunday's attack, where 12 people were injured at a rally calling for the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza. One suspect has been arrested, accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at members of the group Run for Their Lives on Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. Crime scene tape surrounds the area on Pearl Street in Boulder where a man attacked people with Molotov cocktails.
