Fans gear up for Kendrick Lamar and SZA at Gillette Stadium
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WWLP) – Kendrick Lamar and SZA are performing together across the country for their Grand National Tour, including at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough Monday night.

The two artists kicked off their tour in Minneapolis on April 19, and will be moving through 19 stadiums across the country before starting a 13-stop European tour on July 2 in Cologne, Germany. Lamar is a 22-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist, Pulitzer Prize-winner and performed at this year's Super Bowl halftime show. Solána Imani Rowe, known as SZA, collaborated with Lamar on seven songs.
Limited tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com for Monday night's show. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. The stadium is reminding ticket holders that bags larger than a small wristlet or handheld wallet are not allowed inside, and clear bags cannot exceed 12' x 12' x 6'.

Emmy-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph received the Sidney Poitier Icon Tribute at the Gotham Television Awards June 2. The 'Abbott Elementary' star has a special history with the tribute's namesake. 'It's a very full circle moment, because quite literally Mr. Poitier opened the door to Hollywood for me by casting me in my first film — 'A Piece of the Action,'' Ralph told IndieWire on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony. Ralph played a supporting role in the movie, which also featured James Earl Jones. After this appearance, Ralph began scoring guest spots on popular TV show such as 'Good Times' and 'Wonder Woman,' before landing her Tony-nominated role in the 1981 Broadway musical 'Dreamgirls.' Since then, Ralph has been a film, television and stage staple, but she professes that none of her success would have been possible without Poitier. 'Mr. Poitier looked at me and said, 'Sheryl Lee Ralph I expect great things from you … I am sorry that the industry doesn't have more to offer you, because you deserve it.' He planted a seed in me that represented the great possibility. And because I believed in great possibility, I kept at it and never gave up. I kept honing my craft. I kept on keeping on. And I wish that he were here tonight to be able see the seed that he planted in me and how it's grown,' Ralph said. She added that Poitier taught how important the director is to a project. 'I remember one day I was just lost, reading a book, and I couldn't hear what he was saying, and he just came over to the desk — we were all students in a classroom — and he just got my attention, and he said, 'You're on my set. I am your director, and you pay attention to me' … I'll never forget that. So, I try to respect directors always,' she said. Poitier's groundbreaking Hollywood career included an Oscar-win for 'Lilies of the Field' in 1964, when he became the first Black man to receive the Best Actor Academy Award. He later starred in seminal classics like 'In the Heat of the Night,' 'To Sir, With Love,' and 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?' He bridged into directing during the 1970s with credits including 'Buck and the Preacher,' 'A Warm December,' and 'Stir Crazy.' Poitier died in 2022 at the age of 94. Peter Murphy Cancels 2025 Tour Dates Due To Ongoing ‘Health Issues'
Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy has announced he will not be hitting the road this summer as planned, with ongoing health issues to blame for the nascent cancellation. Murphy announced his news via social media on Monday (June 2), informing fans that, 'It is with regret that, due to recent health issues, I will be unable to perform for you this summer. 'This situation is hopefully temporary, and we will be able to announce shows in support of Silver Shade at some point in the near future. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.' The forthcoming tour dates were set to see Murphy touring in support of Silver Shade, his first new solo album since 2014, with festival dates scheduled throughout the U.K. and Europe between June and August. Murphy's live appearances have been limited in recent years, with a heart attack necessitating the postponement of his 2019 residency at New York venue Le Poisson Rouge. A reformed Bauhaus would later cancel a run of North American dates in 2022 after stating that Murphy would be 'entering a rehabilitation facility to attend to his health and well-being.' In early 2023, the Celebrating David Bowie tour was rescheduled after Murphy underwent 'an unexpected medical procedure,' before he dropped out entirely 'due to ill health and doctor's orders to rest and recover.' In December 2024, an upcoming U.K. and European leg of the same tour was cancelled after it was announced Murphy had 'suddenly taken ill.' Murphy rose to fame as a member of Bauhaus in the late '70s, with their debut single 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' being considered one of the pioneering gothic rock tracks. Bauhaus split in 1983 after releasing four albums, and Murphy launched a solo career in 1986. His third album, 1989's Deep, would peak at No. 44 on the Billboard 200, with the single 'Cuts You Up' reaching No. 55 on the Hot 100 and topping the Modern Rock Tracks chart the following year. Bauhaus' reunions would result in a final album in 2008, with the group releasing their final single, 'Drink the New Wine' in early 2022. In May 2025, Murphy released his latest studio album, Silver Shade, which featured contributions from Boy George alongside members of Tool and Nine Inch Nails.
