When Terry Bradshaw bragged about being a ‘sex symbol' with hair in a wild Playboy moment

Terry Bradshaw's 'sex symbol' remark in Playboy interview still turns heads today (Getty Images) Long before Terry Bradshaw became the jovial voice of FOX NFL Sunday, he turned heads in an unexpected place—Playboy magazine. It was 1980, and the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback had already carved his legacy with four Super Bowl titles. Yet, what made headlines back then wasn't a clutch pass or a trophy celebration—it was his surprisingly candid, humorous interview with a publication better known for its models than its football analysis. Terry Bradshaw's playful Playboy moment: Why he once believed he was a national 'sex symbol' Terry Bradshaw, then at the peak of his career, stunned fans by sitting down with Playboy. For a man known for his Christian values, it was a move that blended shock with comedy. At the heart of the interview was a lighthearted conversation about his hair—or the lack of it. He had done commercials for Eva Gabor's wig company in the '70s, so when asked about wearing a toupee, his response was classic Bradshaw. 'Because the people, well, uh… 'cause I love it! I do like to wear it,' he said, explaining how easy it was to clip on. 'I wear it on all the TV shows and my public appearances, stuff like that.' With the same sense of humor that has made him a TV favorite, Bradshaw went on to theatrically fetch his toupee, joking, 'Don't come in. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Thị trường có dấu hiệu suy thoái không? Once he returned, posing like a model, he declared, 'Ready or not, here it is. This is what I used to look like before I lost my hair.' When the interviewer commented on how the look must have attracted a lot of women, Bradshaw responded with cheeky confidence: 'Basically.' And when pressed further, he grinned and said, 'Basic quarterback sex symbol.' Despite his self-deprecating humor, Bradshaw admitted that compliments on his bald look were always appreciated. 'That's what my wife tells me [that bald is supposed to be sexy]. And I consider that a tremendous flattery, considering God overlooked me when he gave out looks. He gave it to all my brothers. He overlooked me.' Today, at 76, Bradshaw continues to entertain millions on FOX, often donning his signature flatcap and never missing a beat with his trademark wit. But retirement is creeping closer. Speaking to Mirror U.S. Sports during Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, he admitted he's eyeing the finish line. 'I told my wife before I left the room a while ago, I'm sitting there... I said, 'I've got two years left at FOX. I'm 76. Okay, so it's a young man's game. I get that.'' Bradshaw added, 'If we can get to the next Super Bowl, I'll be 80. That's... I think that's time. 80 years old, that's pushing it!' From quarterback sex symbol to beloved broadcaster, Terry Bradshaw's journey has always been full of surprises—and he might just have one or two more left before he finally hangs up the mic. Mbappe discharged from hospital, not sure whether he will play at Club World Cup

Kylian Mbappe was discharged from the hospital on Thursday (June 19, 2025) after experiencing an acute case of gastroenteritis, and it was not known when he will be able to play for Real Madrid at the Club World Cup. Mbappe missed the Spanish giant's opening game of the tournament — a surprise 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal in Miami — because of a fever. Coach Xabi Alonso said the France international was in 'rough shape' and hadn't been able to train for days. His illness casts doubt over what part he might be able to play in the monthlong tournament in the United States, with Madrid facing Pachuca in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Sunday (June 22, 2025). 'Mbappe will continue with specific medical treatment and will gradually return to the team's activity,' Madrid said in a statement. Gastroenteritis is also known as stomach flu and symptoms can include vomiting and diarrhoea. Mbappe's absence is a blow to the Club World Cup, which FIFA president Gianni Infantino hopes will be one of the elite events in soccer and rival competitions like the Champions League and Premier League in popularity and value. After Lionel Messi, Mbappe is arguably the biggest star in the show, with Madrid one of the favourites to lift the trophy in the inaugural edition of the tournament. But a crowd of more than 62,000 at Hard Rock Stadium missed out on a rare chance to see him in person in the U.S. when he was unavailable for Madrid's first game at the home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins on Wednesday (June 18, 2025). Alonso missed him, too, in what has been a difficult start to the tournament for the team's new coach. Madrid was underwhelming against Al Hilal – Saudi Arabia's most successful team – and missed a 92nd-minute penalty to win the match. It was Alonso's first game in charge of the 15-time European champion, which is famously demanding of its coaches. Last month he replaced Carlo Ancelotti, who left to join the Brazil national team after winning three Champions Leagues and two Spanish titles in two stints at the club. Despite being the overwhelming favourite against Al Hilal, Madrid had to settle for a draw after surviving a number of scares in the first half – leaving Alonso to call for patience. 'We know this is going to take time,' he said. The 26-year-old Mbappe was Madrid's top scorer last season, with 43 goals in 56 appearances in his first year since joining from Paris Saint-Germain. His hospitalisation came almost exactly one year after he sustained a broken nose at the European Championship and had to wear a face mask to continue playing in the tournament.
