Singer Keneeshaa Francis has taken legal action after receiving rape threats, death threats, and abusive messages on social media. The harassment follows rumours of her relationship with actor Ravi Mohan, who is currently in a legal battle with his estranged wife, Aarti Ravi, over divorce and alimony.
On Sunday, Keneeshaa shared a legal statement on Instagram, highlighting the online abuse she has faced. 'These acts amount to direct violations of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, including Section 75 (sexual harassment), Section 351 (criminal intimidation), and Section 356 (defamation),' the statement read. It also mentioned breaches of the Information Technology Act, 2000, such as Section 66E, Section 67, and Section 67A, which deal with privacy violations and the sharing of obscene content online.

Ghaziabad: 2 men on morning walk killed by speeding car
An unidentified speeding vehicle hit and killed two men on their morning walk near the rotary area of the Hindon elevated road in Ghaziabad at 6am on Friday, and then sped away, police said. Police rushed the two to a hospital where they were declared dead on arrival. Police have launched a search for the car and the driver. The victims were identified as Subhash Singh, 57, and his neighbour, Kamlesh Yadav, 45, residents of Brij Nagri in Nandgram, police said. 'The victims had gone for a morning walk and were hit by a speeding car, probably a Swift Dzire, near the rotary of the Hindon elevated road. Passerby informed us and we rushed them to a hospital. Both were declared dead by doctors. We will soon lodge a first information report against the unidentified driver. He fled with the vehicle soon after the incident and did not stop. We are trying to get footage from nearby CCTVs and will soon trace the suspect,' said Poonam Mishra, assistant commissioner of police of Nandgram circle. The rotary is the start/exit point of the 10.3km Hindon elevated road, which connects with the border of East Delhi. The road allows signal-free movement from Ghaziabad to Delhi. 'The two were probably crossing the road when the vehicle hit them. It was early morning so our traffic personnel were not present for duty. However, CCTVs are being scanned to get clues to the incident. The case will be investigated by Nandgram police station,' said Sacchidanand, additional deputy commissioner of police (traffic). According to the families of the victims, the two were friends and regularly went for morning walks in the nearby city forest. 'Both used to go around 5am and return by 6am. On Friday, some of our neighbours who also had gone for a walk informed us about the accident. We rushed to the scene but police had already arrived and were taking them to hospital. Our neighbour Kamlesh Yadav suffered multiple fractures to his leg and fell on the other side of the road divider. My father suffered multiple fractures to his head and severe head injuries, which led to his death,' said Atul Singh, son of Subhash Singh. The families of both victims have given a written complaint to the police. Based on a complaint by the family of the victims, the Nandgram police station registered an FIR under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 281 (rash driving on public way), and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) against the unidentified driver.

Frivolous applications: RPSC filed criminal cases against 14 candidates
1 2 Ajmer: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) Friday said that it has filed a criminal complaint against 14 candidates between Nov 2024 and Jan 2025 for filing frivolous applications for the post of assistant professor in Sanskrit college education exam. The commission filed the complaints at the additional chief magistrate of Ajmer under Section 217 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Jaswant Garasiya of Banswara is a Bachelor of Arts (BA), but he filed an application for the assistant director (Science and IT department) exam 2024, even though the essential qualification for this exam was a first-class degree in natural and agricultural science or a first-class Master's degree in engineering or technology, or a first-class MSc or MTech with a graduate degree in science and engineering, along with two years of specialised experience in IT and science technology organisation. Garasiya also filed an application for assistant testing officer and junior chemist exam of the RPSC. RPSC secretary Ramniwas Mehta said, "I spoke to the candidate on phone regarding the filing of the application, and he admitted that he is a BA pass, but he could not answer why he filed such applications." No helmet on bike ride: Minor among 2 dead
Nagpur: Riding a motorcycle without helmet proved fatal for two teenagers when a speeding pickup truck rammed their bike on road between Takdoji Putla and Manewada Square in Ajni in the early hours of Friday. The victims have been identified as 18-year-old Nitin Katre and 17-year-old Komal Yadav. The incident occurred around 12:45am on June 6, when the two were returning home from work. According to police, the duo was hit by a white pickup truck being driven in reckless manner. The impact of the collision threw both the riders off the bike, resulting in severe injuries. Passers-by rushed the injured to Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared both of them dead on arrival. Nitin, the rider, and Komal were residents of Balaji Nagar in Kalamna. Based on a complaint filed by Nitin's father, Rajendra Katre, Ajni police have registered a case of hit and run against the unidentified pickup truck driver under sections 281 (rash driving), 106(1), 134, 177, and 184 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway. Police are also examining CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the killer vehicle.
