INEOS AUTOMOTIVE SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT WITH BOLD NEW AD CAMPAIGN - Middle East Business News and Information
Provocative ad campaign 'Us vs. Them' highlights distinctive personality of Grenadier
INEOS Automotive shows its humourous side with 'Lets Take This Outside' billboard ad
'Good luck to the others: they're cool cars. But we're tired of the comparisons. To be clear , this is all about saying we're different.' – Lynn Calder, CEO at INEOS Automotive

Dubai, April 2025 – INEOS Automotive has launched a bold advertising campaign to clearly differentiate the Grenadier 4X4 from the regular school-run SUVs and soft-roading crossovers.
While respecting various rival manufacturers for their success in those segments, the Grenadier was engineered to follow a different trail.
The lead advert being activated in social media and on out-of-home billboards depicts the Grenadier, with muddy scars and splashes from off-roading, pitted against another brand's clean and tidy model. A cheeky provocative caption is intended to raise a smile.
The campaign follows a series of unsuccessful legal challenges around the world that were intended to disrupt the development and sales of the Grenadier and hinder the growth of the start-up British brand. After years of unnecessary distraction, INEOS Automotive is drawing a line in the sand.
'We've held our tongues while winning the court cases over and over again, and we feel it's now time to set the record straight: we're not them and we're not trying to be them,' said Lynn Calder, CEO at INEOS Automotive . 'Good luck to the others: they're cool cars. But we're tired of the comparisons. To be clear, this is all about saying we're different.'
The 'Us vs. Them' digital advert is the first in a series of campaign activations over the coming months.

Stocks, dollar retreat on new Trump trade threat - Economy
Stock markets and the dollar retreated Thursday after US President Donald Trump threatened higher unilateral tariffs on partners in the coming weeks, reigniting trade war fears. His comments overshadowed any optimism that came from the United States and China reaching a deal this week to dial down tensions. The dollar slumped one percent against the euro, while oil prices slid on profit-taking, after having surged Wednesday. Geopolitical concerns were also weighing on sentiment after Trump said US personnel were being moved from the Middle East, as nuclear talks with Iran faltered and fears of a regional conflict grew. Asia's main stock markets mostly closed down, while eurozone indices led losses in Europe. On the corporate front, shares in British carrier easyJet and British Airways owner IAG fell almost four percent, following news that a London-bound Air India plane -- a Boeing 787 -- had crashed in Ahmedabad. Ahead of Wall Street reopening, Boeing said it was "working to gather more information". Markets were firmly focused on Trump's latest move over tariffs. "Mainland European markets are being hit hard... amid growing concerns that we could soon see the trade war break out once again," said Joshua Mahoney, chief market analyst at broker Rostro. Trump shook confidence on Wednesday by saying he would soon send letters telling governments what levies Washington would be imposing. "We're going to be sending letters out in about a week and a half, two weeks, to countries, telling them what the deal is," he told reporters. "This is the deal, you can take it or leave it," he added. The US had paused until July 9 reciprocal levies imposed on many trading partners at the start of April, to allow countries to cut deals with the White House. This had sparked a relief rally for stocks. But Trump's latest comments revived fears about sky-high levies and the impact on the economy. Trump has already threatened 50-percent levies on the EU once the July 9 deadline passes. Outside the eurozone, London managed to limit losses even as official data showed the UK economy shrank more than expected in April, as tariffs kicked in. Trump's renewed threat to hammer trading partners' exports came not long after US and China reached a tentative deal that would increase Chinese exports of rare earths while allowing Chinese students to remain in American universities. Wall Street struggled on Wednesday as trade worries overshadowed another below-forecast inflation reading that provided fresh speculation the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates. Oil prices slid 1.5 percent Thursday, having surged Wednesday when Trump said US personnel were being moved from the potentially "dangerous" Middle East as Iran nuclear talks stutter. The move came as US reports suggested Israel could be preparing to strike targets in Iran, and as Tehran threatened to target US military bases in the region if a regional conflict broke out. Trump, who had recently expressed optimism about the talks with Iran, said in an interview published Wednesday that he was "less confident". - Key figures at around 1050 GMT - London - FTSE 100: DOWN 0.1 percent at 8,851.96 points Paris - CAC 40: DOWN 0.7 percent at 7,723.01 Frankfurt - DAX: DOWN 1.0 percent at 23,709.01 Tokyo - Nikkei 225: DOWN 0.7 percent at 38,173.09 (close) Hong Kong - Hang Seng Index: DOWN 1.4 percent at 24,035.38 (close) Shanghai - Composite: FLAT at 3,402.66 (close) New York - Dow: FLAT at 42,865.77 (close) Euro/dollar: UP at $1.1596 from $1.1489 on Wednesday Pound/dollar: UP at $1.3591 from $1.3545 Dollar/yen: DOWN at 143.54 yen from 144.62 yen Euro/pound: UP at 85.35 pence from 84.79 pence West Texas Intermediate: DOWN 1.5 percent at $67.13 per barrel Brent North Sea Crude: DOWN 1.5 percent at $68.75 per barrel dan-ajb/bcp/rmb IAG - INTERNATIONAL CONSOLIDATED AIRLINES GROUP Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:

Manchester City signs Reijnders from Milan to complete $150M spending spree - World
Manchester City concluded a $150 million spending spree ahead of the Club World Cup by announcing the signing of Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan on Wednesday. The 26-year-old Reijnders moved for an initial fee of 55 million euros ($63 million) and is the second midfielder — after France playmaker Rayan Cherki — to join City in the special June 1-10 transfer window created to allow sides in the 32-team Club World Cup to reshape their squads. City paid Lyon $41 million for Cherki and also signed Algeria left back Rayan Aït-Nouri from Wolverhampton for $42 million. After deciding not to push to sign Florian Wirtz — the Germany playmaker is close to joining Liverpool, according to reports in the British media — City has spent around the same amount on three players. Add this latest splurge to an outlay of more than $200 million in the winter transfer window and City has already spent at least $350 million on players in 2025 to provide manager Pep Guardiola with a squad capable of reclaiming the Premier League title from Liverpool. Breakthrough season Reijnders has just been named as the best midfielder in Serie A after a breakthrough campaign in which he scored 15 goals and added five assists across all competitions for Milan, which endured a dismal season and failed to qualify for Europe. He joined Milan from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 for a fee of around 20 million euros (then $22.4 million) and recently signed a contract extension through to June 2030. That's the length of his contract at City, too. City is releasing De Bruyne to end his 10-year stint at the club and now has Reijnders and Cherki to link up with Rodri in an enticing midfield set-up. Reijnders said he was 'ecstatic' to be joining City. 'It is also a dream come true to play in the Premier League,' he said. 'This league has seen many of the best Dutch players perform through the years and it's an inspiration to follow in their footsteps.' City director of football Hugo Viana said Reijnders — who specializes in being a ball-carrying midfielder — will add 'extra energy, composure and creativity to our midfield.' City announced the transfer of Reijnders a day after the special transfer window closed but appears to have signed him in time for him to play in the new-look, 32-team Club World Cup, which starts on Saturday. City is in the same group as Juventus, Al Ain and Wydad Casablanca and its first match is on June 18.
