CM Yogi blames Cong for Partition, lauds PM for push to heal ‘old wounds'

, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that it was Congress appeasement policies that led to India's division, the Partition of a 'Sanatan Bharat'.
Blaming the opposition for having ignored the plight of those displaced by the Partition, the CM said that those who get citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act will be given land and full rehabilitation in UP.
Calling the Partition a "dark chapter" in India's history, which inflicted deep wounds on the nation, Yogi credited PM Modi with reviving this forgotten history. "Today, the entire country mourns, remembering the horrors of Aug 14, 1947," he said, while inaugurating an exhibition marking 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day'.
Later in the day, the CM led a silent march against the Partition and then addressed a seminar on it.
The CM said that at one end, revolutionaries embraced martyrdom for India's freedom and on the other, Congress divided the nation in its greed for power. He alleged that the Congress policies led to the ethnic cleansing of Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists from Pakistan. "The violence claimed 15-20 lakh lives and displaced crores, marking one of the darkest episodes in history.

He also accused the then Congress govt of showing complete apathy towards the displaced persons. The CM said that no memorials were built and no museums were established for Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Christians who were forced to leave their ancestral homes.
Their suffering, he said, was erased from public memory. Against this, PM Modi granted citizenship and rehabilitation rights to refugees under the CAA, because of which, for the first time, displaced people in J&K and other regions received citizenship, he said.
Hitting out at Congress further, the CM said that it was the same party which first murdered democracy under the guise of Emergency and then orchestrated the massacre of Sikhs in 1984. Instead of facing the consequences of its leaders' wrong decisions, it was still trying to mislead the public. He also stressed the importance of connecting the younger generation with history, saying that the exhibition portrayed the grim reality of Partition, its massacres, riots and forced migrations.

While Congress fumed, demanding the module be scrapped—and even 'burnt'—the BJP shot back, and said that the "Rahul-Jinnah" party was upset about the truth coming out. NCERT's new modules about the India's Partition – one for the middle stage (Classes 6-8) and another for the secondary stage (Classes 9-12) – were released in August to mark Partition Remembrance Day. The material underscores that 'the Partition of India and the creation of Pakistan were by no means inevitable,' attributing responsibility to 'Jinnah, who demanded it; the Congress, which accepted it; and Mountbatten, who formalised and implemented it,' as per ANI. Otherwise, such haste would not have been made." Congress leader Pawan Khera refuted the claims made in the book, further stating that the modules be 'burnt'. He further went on to say that 'if history has the biggest villain, it is the RSS," claiming that India's partition was because of the 'collaboration between the Hindu Mahasabha and the Muslim League.' The BJP hit back at Congress for objecting to NCERT's new Partition module, accusing the opposition of being rattled because, as per him, the 'truth' has been brought out. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia labelled the Congress as 'Rahul-Jinnah party' and alleged that Rahul Gandhi's worldview mirrors that of Pakistan's founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, mentioned a report by news wire ANI. Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) member secretary, Dr Om Jee Upadhyay in a video statement said, '..Partition was not a normal incident, but it is one of the most tragic incidents of history where 1.5 crore people were forced to cross boundaries...12-15 lakh people were brutally new generation should know the truth so that they can learn from it and ensure that such incidents don't happen in the future...I do not think that there is any factual mistake in the modules and nobody has pointed out any factual mistakes," reported HT. Seventy-nine years ago, when Britain withdrew from the subcontinent, its colony, India, was split into two nations—India and Pakistan, with East Pakistan later emerging as Bangladesh. The event which came along with India's independence, on August 15, 1947, also unleashed one of the largest upheavals in history, forcing around 15 million people from their homes and leaving nearly a million dead in waves of communal violence.

‘Not a single rupee released…': Cong MLA flags Telangana govt's inaction over ‘uncleared bills'
A Congress MLA in Telangana on Friday took a swipe at his own government's alleged inaction in clearing pending bills for development works. Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy(Facebook/Komatireddy Reddy) According to an NDTV report, MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, without naming Revanth Reddy, said these clearances require the chief minister's approval. He was speaking during an event to celebrate the Independence Day in his constituency Munugode. "You take the posts, but do you also take the money? Take the positions, but pay the contractors who have done the work. Don't do injustice to the people of Munugode," Komatireddy Reddy said. Further clarifying that he is not neither criticising the chief minister or his party, Komatireddy Reddy alleged that 'not a single rupee has been released for roads or buildings". 'The contractor refuses to continue work on the Veligonda-Choutuppal road project because bills have not been cleared. These clearances require the chief minister's approval. That is why I raised this concern directly to him. I am not criticising either the chief minister or the party... Not a single rupee has been released for roads or buildings,' NDTV quoted him as saying. "Even after repeated requests and numerous attempts to approach ministers, there has been no response. Should I not question whether posts and funds are being monopolised?" he added. According to the report, the MLA has recently spoken out against the state leadership, but this time, his remarks targeting Revanth Reddy have caused unease among Congress leaders. The NDTV report further said that Congress's state disciplinary action committee has taken note of RKomatireddy Rajgopal Reddy's comments and its chairman, Mallu Ravi, is likely to meet him. Revanth Reddy's swipe Earlier this week, Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy had taken an indirect swipe at Rajagopal Reddy, according to NDTV. "In politics, out of ten people who want to sit on the same chair, nine will be disappointed. Whether they are from a family, caste, region, or you will show disappointment... It could cause harm to you, us, the state and nation," the chief minister had said.
