Neymar responds to jeering fans by scoring directly from corner
Neymar netted directly from a corner in the 27th minute, bending in a right-footed shot which struck the far post and ended up in the goal.
The 33-year-old also provided two assists for Tiquinho Soares score a first-half double.
"They teased me and I said, now I'm the one who's going to score the goal," Neymar told TNT Sports.
The home fans also taunted Neymar in the ninth minute when he walked up to take a corner, and the former Barcelona and Paris St Germain forward responded by signalling for them to sing louder before setting up Soares to score.
"My greatest joy is playing football," Neymar posted on social media. Neymar, who left Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal last month to return to his boyhood club, said last week that Santos were helping him "to rediscover soccer, rediscover joy".
Santos play Bragantino in the Paulista Championship quarter-finals next weekend.

Neymar's Santos Sack Coach Kleber Xavier After 6-0 Defeat to Vasco da Gama
Rana Atef Brazilian giants Santos have officially announced the dismissal of head coach Kleber Xavier, just hours after the team suffered a humiliating 6-0 home defeat to Vasco da Gama on Sunday in the Brazilian league. In a statement released on social media, the club said: 'Santos Football Club announces the departure of coach Kleber Xavier. The club thanks him for his services and wishes him success in his future career.' The heavy loss has left Santos dangerously close to the relegation zone, sitting 15th in the table with 21 points from 19 matches. Star forward Neymar da Silva, who was visibly emotional and broke down in tears after the final whistle, voiced his frustration in post-match comments: 'You have to explain our approach on the pitch, which was, simply put, very poor. It's disappointing to play this way wearing the Santos shirt. Everyone needs to go home, rest, and think carefully about what they want to do.' The club had recently renewed Neymar's contract until the end of 2025. The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star rejoined Santos in late January after an 18-month spell with Saudi side Al-Hilal, returning to the team where he started his professional career. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated

Neymar signs for six more months with Santos with an eye on World cup - World
Neymar on Tuesday extended his contract with Brazilian club Santos until the end of 2025, as he attempts to recapture his form in time for next year's World Cup. "I made a decision and I followed my heart. Santos is not just my team, it's my home, my roots, my history, and my life," the 33-year-old forward said in a statement from the club. Neymar started his career at Santos before moving to Barcelona and then Paris Saint-Germain. After an injury-hit spell in Saudi Arabia, he returned to Santos in January on a contract that was due to expire on June 30. The injury problems that restricted him to just seven matches in 17 months at Al-Hilal persisted. He has played 12 matches in five months across all competitions for Santos, scoring three goals. In his last appearance in the domestic league, he was sent off for a second yellow card after scoring with his hand against Botafogo. After 12 matches in this season's Brazilian championship, Santos are only clear of the relegation places on goal difference. Since his return to Brazil, Neymar has drawn criticism for partying at the Rio Carnival and for appearing in the gimmicky seven-a-side Kings League while nursing injuries. Neymar is the Brazil national team's all-time leading scorer with 79 goals, two more than another Santos product, Pele, but his quest for a World Cup winner's medal has repeatedly ended in disappointment. Neymar was recalled to the Brazil squad in March for two World Cup qualifiers, but withdrew with a thigh injury. In May, new coach Carlo Ancelotti left Neymar out of his first squad. "I selected players who are in good shape. Neymar has just returned from injury, everyone knows he's a very important player and we're obviously counting on him," said Ancelotti. Real coach Alonso backs Ruediger after he suffered alleged racist abuse
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, June 22 (Reuters) - Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso said he believed Antonio Ruediger when the player told him he was a victim of racist abuse during their 3-1 win against Mexican side Pachuca at the Club World Cup on Sunday. Referee Ramon Abatti crossed his forearms in front of his chest, which signals the activation of the anti-racism protocol, five minutes into stoppage time after a brief scuffle erupted following a foul on Germany international Ruediger.
