I was the Osbournes' nanny. One day I saw Ozzy eat 50 steaks
It was 1996, and Bracewell had applied for work with a nannying agency to fund her travels after studying fine arts at RMIT.
The next week, a limousine arrived where she was temping as a receptionist and she was taken to meet the family. She was interviewed by Ozzy and Sharon – together with their children, Jack, Kelly and Aimee, then aged 13, 14 and 15 – and thinks she got the job because they wanted someone relaxed.
For the next 18 months, Breakwell lived and worked with the Osbournes, travelling between their home in Buckinghamshire and Beverley Hills. This was several years before the MTV reality show The Osbournes launched them to global fame; they asked her to stay ahead of the show's launch, but she was keen to get back to Australia.
With news of Ozzy Osbourne's death on Wednesday, she has been remembering her time with the family.
'I spent more time with Ozzy than probably any of them, to be honest, when he was home between tours. He was the funniest guy. Because he spoke slowly people thought he was stupid, but he was so smart.'
Breakwell, a Melbourne-based artist who runs her own gallery, said Ozzy was funny, down-to-earth, and without any airs or graces. 'He was always kind, he had time for everybody and made you feel really welcome,' she said.
'Because he didn't drive, he used to do things like get in the car, open the sunroof, turn his own music on and stand up and sing out the roof. He was quite obsessive compulsive. For a week he'd just be drawing all week, the next he'd have a cycling obsession, so he'd put the bike in the loungeroom and be cycling for days, or he'd decide he would only eat steak and he'd have 50 steaks a day.'

The couple are preparing to celebrate the grand opening of Andune Coffee Studio this weekend, inviting the community inside for a taste of their new project. He was eventually appointed to head barista, and fell in love latte art by teaching himself, and testing his skills in competition. After multiple successes in WA and South Australia, Andy has switched to the judging side in recent years, and even opened a cafe during COVID. However, he knew his next challenge would something a little different. But that gave them more motivation to get started. 'It's not your usual cafe, it's a very new concept, but we're excited because there's so much opportunity to branch out,' Andy added. They plan to offer tastings of unique coffee beans from around the world, run community events, sell merchandise, and even arrange doggy meet-ups. Opening to the public this weekend, Andune Coffee Studio is asking coffee-lovers to follow their noses inside and experience signature drinks re-imagined, intimate workshops, and even a live-action latte unicorn or two. Ozzy Osbourne's life ‘set to be charted in at least two rival documentaries'
Ozzy Osbourne's life is reportedly set to be charted in at least two rival documentaries. The Black Sabbath frontman, who died last month at the age of 76 following a battle with Parkinson's disease, is said to be the subject of both projects, which were apparently been filmed with unprecedented access to Ozzy and his family over the past three years. According to The Sun, they are set to chronicle the final months of the rock icon's wild life, with broadcasters BBC and Paramount+ thought to be racing to be the first to air their respective films this autumn. A television insider told The Sun: 'It's looking like the BBC might just pip Paramount+ to the post. But both are keen to be the first to get them out there because they understand just how hugely popular Ozzy was and how well received these shows will be. 'Of course, there's an element of competition, but their main priorities are producing two shows that are respectful and that the Osbourne family approve of.' Ozzy, born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham in 1948, rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath in the late 1960s, helping pioneer heavy metal music. He embarked on a successful solo career in the 1980s, becoming known as the 'Prince of Darkness'. His life was marked by highs and lows, including struggles with addiction, multiple health issues and a decades-long marriage to his manager and wife Sharon. Just 17 days before his death from a heart attack, Ozzy played a farewell concert, Back to the Beginning, in his hometown of Birmingham on 5 July. Paramount+ has announced its documentary, Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now is set to be 'a deeply personal portrait of the rock legend's harsh new realities and his wife Sharon's battle to take the stage for one final performance'. A BBC documentary on the rocker, said to have originally been titled Home to Roost, is reportedly focused on Ozzy's return to the UK after decades in Los Angeles. But according to The Sun, the broadcaster has yet to confirm a broadcast date or if the title has changed. Sony is also said to be developing a biopic about Ozzy's life, though that film is not expected to air until next year. Ozzy's son Jack Osbourne, 39, who supported his mother Sharon at the rocker's funeral, said in a tribute to his father: 'I was so lucky and blessed to be a part of a very small group that got to call him 'Dad'. My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing.'
