New cars unveiled for Atlanta airport's plane train
Officials at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport unveiled its new plane train cars on Wednesday.
The new plane train may not look much different or bigger, but it is brighter and more modern. Officials say it will be quicker too for passengers.

Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach got a look at the first new car on Wednesday. It's one of 14 that will bring the total up to 73 used for the plane train.
The people mover connects all terminals and concourses. It currently runs about every two minutes, in a 3-mile loop.
The cars come from the same company that built the system in Atlanta in 1980 and it may not look that much different.
'A lot of the technology has been updated, mitigate obsolescence, make the vehicles more reliable and of course, some aesthetic improvement,' said Jason Aguirre with Alstom Transporation.
It will also run more frequently, every 90 seconds using up to 15 four-car trains combined with the new tunnel built for the extension.
TRENDING STORIES:
The new section of tracks and additional turnaround area will be fully up and running by the first quarter of 2026.
'It will dramatically improve the efficiency and capacity of our people mover system, ensuring we're ready to serve the increasing number of travelers who pass through Atlanta each year,' said Ana Maria Taroco, assistant general manager for Hartsfield-Jackson.
Passengers will still see some of the old cars on the tracks after the first 14 are delivered.
The rest of the fleet, which includes 10 cars added when the international terminal opened 15 years ago, will be replaced in the next few years.

Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A is testing two new chicken sandwiches, but they won't be testing them at any of their Georgia restaurants. The Jalapeño Ranch Club includes an original chicken filet on a toasted buttermilk ranch bun, pepper jack cheese, and strips of caramelized onion-flavored candied bacon. It's topped with lettuce, tomato, and pickled jalapeños. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] The Creamy Bar-B-Que Chicken Sandwich includes an original filet on a toasted, buttery bun with creamy bar-b-que slaw and sweet heat pickle chips. Either sandwich is also available with a grilled or spicy filet. For now, Chick-fil-A is only testing the sandwiches in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Jacksonville, Florida, through July 19. The stock market is shifting its focus to the Fed from Trump: Morning Brief

President Trump's Truth Social posts aren't moving markets like they used to. At 8:04 a.m. ET Wednesday, the president posted on his social media platform, "OUR DEAL WITH CHINA IS DONE, SUBJECT TO FINAL APPROVAL WITH PRESIDENT XI AND ME." A post like that would've moved markets a month ago, as stocks were swinging on any and every trade-related update from the president. But on Wednesday, futures tied to the major indexes barely budged after Trump's post. Instead, stocks found their direction from economic data. By subscribing, you are agreeing to Yahoo's Terms and Privacy Policy At 8:30 a.m. ET, a cooler-than-expected reading of consumer prices for May sent futures higher as investors amped up bets that the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates at least twice this year. This marked the latest sign that markets have moved on from President Trump's trade war dictating every move. Instead, the focus is shifting back to the Federal Reserve and the path of the US economy. "For some period of time, tariffs were the only thing that mattered," Truist co-CIO Keith Lerner told Yahoo Finance on Wednesday. "And I think we're finding out [on Wednesday] a lot of other factors matter." The unwind of peak trade policy uncertainty certainly served as a catalyst to bring markets off their lows in April. But as the S&P 500 (^GSPC) has moved back to near-all-time highs over the past two weeks, strategists like Piper Sandler chief investment strategist Michael Kantrowitz have been highlighting that trade policy updates don't pack the same "oomph" as they did weeks ago. Measures like Bloomberg's Trade Policy Uncertainty Index, for instance, are well off their recent highs. The new reality for investors is that tariffs are here to stay. While the estimated effective tariff rate has fallen from a peak around 25%, it's still hovering near 15%. Wall Street strategists aren't raising their price targets on hopes that the effective tariff rate will return to 2.5%, but are instead betting that the US economy will remain resilient through the tariffs. This puts the focus back on the Fed, the trajectory of economic data, and hopes for more rate cuts from the central bank. Recession calls have faded over the past month as data has shown a labor market that is cooling but not rapidly deteriorating and inflation pressures continue to ease. This pushes the biggest market question back to the central bank and whether it will be able to ease policy this year for "good reasons," like cooling inflation, rather than a worsening labor market. "Combined with the solid May jobs report, the CPI data reduce the chances of a nasty bout of stagflation," Bank of America US economist Stephen Juneau wrote in a note to clients on Wednesday. "That means a lower risk of 'bad' cuts (due to a collapse in the labor market) but increased probability of "good" cuts (solid labor market and slowing inflation)." Whether or not the market's suspicion that things could be looking better for the Fed will be put to the test when Fed Chair Jerome Powell takes the podium on June 18 following the central bank's next policy decision. The company announced in February that it will be launching a major expansion across Georgia, with more than 20 clubs in development. Nithi and Usha Anand are spearheading the expansion in Georgia. 'We are delighted to bring Pickleball Kingdom to Austell and contribute to the development of a thriving pickleball community in this area,' said the Anands in a statement. 'Our vision is to create a welcoming space where individuals can engage in this exciting sport, improve their fitness, and connect with others who share a passion for pickleball.' So far, in addition to the Austell location, Pickleball Kingdom is opening three other locations in Georgia: in Watkinsville at Hog Mountain Road and Macon Highway, as well as locations yet to be determined in Alpharetta and Atlanta. The opening date for the Watkinsville location hasn't been listed yet. Pickleball Kingdom has big plans. It currently has locations in nine states, with more locations targeted for 15 other states, according to the company's website.
