EastEnders confirms arrest for Joel as he commits shocking assault
EastEnders teen Joel Marshall (Max Murray) is arrested after committing a shocking assault next week.
As the BBC soap's dark incel plot gathers pace, the newcomer is questioned by police after inappropriately touching a passenger on the tube.
Since arriving in Walford with his dad Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) and his partner Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) earlier this year, Joel has exhibited some disturbing behaviour.
After it was revealed he had previously upskirted one of his classmates back in Australia, he recorded himself and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) having sex without her consent.
As well as making various misogynistic comments, he also encouraged friend Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to use his dad's credit card to view adult content online.
Next week, the pair are on the tube home together when Joel asks Tommy to film him, unaware of his intentions.
Tommy is horrified when he then witnesses Joel pretending to fall on fellow passenger, Isla, who he touches inappropriately.
Upon arriving at the tube station, Isla reports Joel to the authorities, and he is swiftly apprehended.
After Ross and Vicki arrive on the scene, Ross demands answers as Vicki comforts Isla and supports her decision to report Joel, hoping this might stop him doing it again.
Later, Ross tries to get through to his son, who lies about what happened.

Minecraft fan wins Latitude festival poetry competition for kids
A seven-year-old Minecraft fan has a won a festival poetry competition for from Wymondham, Norfolk, wrote A Friend Like Steve, which he will get to perform on stage to open this year's Latitude festival at Henham Park, Suffolk, on 24 and poet Luke Wright said: "I love the fact he chose the language he feels comfortable with, the language of Minecraft. The best thing to do is write about something you love, which is why this is so excellent."The competition was run in partnership with the BBC, and open to seven to 11-year-olds in Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. Myles' mother, Charlotte, said: "I'm so proud of him, it came out beautifully. "Myles' dad listens to the radio, so he heard about the competition and mentioned it to Myles - who was probably playing Minecraft at the time!"If he's not playing it, he's wearing it or talking about it.. he's quite the fanatic."Myles said he worked on the poem for two days. Poetry 'essential to the festival' The competition began for the 2024 festival as a collaboration with BBC Radio Suffolk, and was open just to young people who lived or went to school in expanded to cover three counties for this year's Benn, founder of the Latitude Festival, said: "Myles' poem is delightful and shows why this competition is so important."At just seven years old, he's taken the world of Minecraft, something that truly speaks to his generation, and turned it into a beautiful exploration of friendship and shared adventure. "This is exactly what Latitude is all about: celebrating creativity in all its forms, giving a platform to new voices."This year will also see a bigger input from the BBC Music Introducing teams which cover Suffolk and Norfolk, and Cambridgeshire and Essex, with 21 local acts performing on the Lavish Lounge stage. Poems on the theme of friendship were judged by BBC presenters Sarah Lilley and Louise Hulland, along with poet Luke Wright and Latitude arts curator Kirsty Taylor. Two runners up were also chosen and invited to read their pieces at the festival alongside the 11, from Gorleston, wrote What Can I Do? telling the story of her school friend moving away to Peterborough."Two hours is far too long, it might as well be two years," she 11, from Cromer, wrote Someone, a poem that explored how it felt to be without a special friend."Friends are the family you choose, but I've not yet been found," Eleanor wrote. Strictly Come Dancing line-up rumours revealed for 2025
Bosses are reportedly keen to avoid any further controversies this year, and are 'taking no chances' in bookings. Blue Peter presenters Joel Mawhinney and Shini Muthukrishnan are said to be in the running, along with Tom Parker Bowles, Queen Camilla's son. According to the MailOnline, a host of famous faces have already been approached for this year's series, which is set to get underway in September. Other big names reportedly lined up include former I'm A Celebrity winner Georgia Toffolo, Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts, ex-Love Island star Dani Dyer, and former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan. A BBC insider reportedly told MailOnline: "There will be stringent checks, and asking around, and digging into potential stars' backgrounds to make sure that they're not choosing anyone who might damage the show. 'For years, there was the whole Strictly 'curse' where the contestants and professionals kept having affairs. But that stopped. "Changes were made to the partnerships and it worked. There have been other issues in the past couple of years, though. 'Going forward, those at the top want a wholesome image to shine through. No more scandal – just joy." It follows recent controversies on Strictly, where professional dancer Giovanni Pernice was the subject of an internal investigation. Albert Square's next landlady at the Queen Vic pub has been revealed after owners Linda Carter and her mum Elaine Peacock were forced to put it up for sale. Leopard print-loving loudmouth Kat Moon, played by Jessie Wallace, is set to take over the EastEnders pub in her third time working behind the bar. She previously worked at the boozer alongside ex-husband Alfie Moon from 2010 to 2013. A source told The Sun: 'This will be Kat's third time working in the Queen Vic, but this will be her first time at the helm. 'It's a full-circle moment for the character, as when she first moved on to Albert Square in 2000, Kat gained employment as a barmaid at the pub. Then, ten years on, she helped Alfie. 'The timing of the decision worked for both, but his final scenes are not for a while yet. The character has had a great run, but the time is now right for Bobby to look for other opportunities, and for EastEnders to wave goodbye to Freddie Slater.'
