OKC Thunder will have pair of 10 p.m. CT tipoff games during 2025-26 regular season
The NBA will soon begin a new broadcast era. Starting in the 2025-26 regular season, the league has moved from longtime partner TNT to NBC. It's a move many fans hope brings fresh changes to how games are presented. The Oklahoma City Thunder will make history on Opening Night. Because they're the NBA champions, they will kick off the 2025-26 regular season as they host the Houston Rockets. That means they'll be the first home team featured in the new NBA on NBC era. The Thunder will hold a pregame ceremony where they drop their championship banner and get handed their rings. All in front of Kevin Durant, who will make his debut for his new team. Considering the Thunder are viewed as the consensus title favorite, expect them to be a mainstay on the NBA and Peacock broadcast. They're tied with the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks for most national television games this upcoming season at 34. That will entail a couple of late-night games where Thunder fans might need to either sacrifice some sleep or catch the highlights the next morning on their way to school or work. Later than usual, even. One of the ways the NBA hopes to give its broadcast a new feel is a later start time than usual for some games. NBC will have 'Coast 2 Coast Tuesday" every week in the regular season. Meaning the second leg of a Tuesday night NBA doubleheader will begin at 10 p.m. CT instead of 9:30 p.m. CT. The Thunder will have a couple of 10 p.m. CT games that will be part of that in their 2025-26 regular season. Both road games are in California. They will travel to face the LA Clippers on Tuesday, Nov. 4. They will then face the Warriors on Tuesday, Dec. 2. It'll be the first time the Thunder have had games that start at 10 p.m. CT or later. Previously, the latest they had was 9:30 p.m. CT. The Clippers and Warriors should be viable enough teams to make it worth the hassle of staying up for.

When will former Thunder Dillon Jones receive his NBA championship ring?
As is tradition, Opening Night will be about the Oklahoma City Thunder. The NBA champions will kick off the 2025-26 regular season when they host the Houston Rockets. The pregame ceremony will be as intriguing to watch as the game itself. They will drop their title banner and be handed their ring. Once the festivities are over, the Thunder will start their championship reign. They're a popular pick to repeat as champions. They sit at the mountaintop knowing they're going to get the best shot of the other 29 teams in the league. Before they fully move on from their 2025 NBA Finals win, though, they have one small afterparty left to celebrate one of the greatest teams in league history. One of the reasons why the Thunder are viewed as the consensus favorite is their continuity. Besides some bottom of the depth chart changes, the Thunder will run it back with the same roster. Because of that, there will be at least one more pregame ring ceremony after Opening Night. Dillon Jones will return to OKC early in the season. The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Washington Wizards on Thursday, Oct. 30. It should be a mundane blowout as both teams are on opposite sides of the NBA highway. Before that happens, though, Jones will receive his championship ring. The Thunder traded Jones in a salary dump deal. The 23-year-old had a forgettable rookie season that turned out to be his only year in OKC. He won an NBA championship out of it and now hopes to get rotation minutes in a rebuild situation. It'll be fun to see Jones receive his championship ring. He's the only player who left the Thunder's standard roster. Everybody else will be back next season as they hope to get another NBA championship.

What are the best games on the Boston Celtics schedule?
What are the best games on the Boston Celtics schedule for the NBA's 2025-26 regular season? With fans of the team stuck in the depths of the summer doldrums, the league has released the schedule for the Celtics and their 29 opponents to help tide us over and get us excited for the coming campaign to kick off in the month of October. And though Boston will not be playing on either Opening Night or Christmas Day for the first time in over a decade, they will be suiting up for a slate of compelling contests this season. The team plays a total of 25 national TV games this season despite it being something of a retooling year for the Celtics, highlighted by a tilt against the Detroit Pistons on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The folks behind the "NESN" YouTube channel put together a clip from their "Boston Has Entered the Chat" podcast to talk it over. Check it out below!
