Udupi dist min launches project on enhanced surveillance
The Udupi district minister was speaking during the inauguration of 'Syena Drishti' surveillance centre at Udupi service bus stand organised by the Udupi police with the Udupi Chamber of Commerce (UCC) on Thursday.
A total of 621 night-vision cameras at 207 junctions and 20 automatic number plate reader cameras on 10 district border roads are being installed. This project costs approximately Rs 3 crore, and is fully funded by the UCC.
"On behalf of the district administration and the govt, I express gratitude to UCC," the minister said.
DC Swaroopa TK, ZP CEO Prateek Bayal, SP Hariram Shankar, and others were present.
Boxing champion lauded
Hebbalkar praised the achievements of Mansi J Suvarna from Udupi, who won a bronze medal at the National Boxing Championship held in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Mansi, daughter of Malathi and Jagadish Suvarna, who are involved in fishing in Malpe, has inspired other boxers in the state with her achievement.
