Investing in talent Labour Ministry, IPA conclude Kheberat programme to enhance youth employability

Bahrain is committed to empowering young professionals by providing the necessary training and resources to make them the preferred choice for employment. This was emphasised by His Excellency Yousef bin Abdulhussein Khalaf, Legal Affairs Minister and Acting Labour Minister.
He attended the closing ceremony of the second and third editions of the Kheberat (Experiences) Programme, organised by IPA in collaboration with the Labour Ministry, along with H.E. Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA).
Competitiveness
The initiative aims to equip young Bahrainis with professional skills and practical experience to enhance their competitiveness in the labour market.
Khalaf highlighted the Kheberat Programme as a key initiative that supports job seekers by equipping them with relevant skills to integrate into the workforce and contribute effectively to sustainable development.
He also commended the collaboration between the Labour Ministry and IPA, noting that this partnership strengthens employment opportunities by aligning professional training with evolving market needs.
Technological advancements He emphasised the importance of continuously updating training and education programmes to keep pace with technological advancements and ensure that the national workforce remains equipped with essential skills.
Dr. Shaikha Rana stressed IPA's commitment to continuously enhancing training and administrative development mechanisms, considering it a strategic priority pursued in collaboration with stakeholders and in line with global best practices.
She attributed the programme's success to Bahrain's strategic policies, which reflect confidence in the ambition and capabilities of Bahraini youth.
Contributions
She underscored the need to further refine their skills, support their ideas, and enhance their contributions to the job market.
Since its launch two years ago, the Kheberat Programme has benefited 70 participants, who collectively developed more than 37 projects during their on-the-job training with private sector institutions.
She added that IPA, in coordination with the Labour Ministry, is preparing to launch additional cohorts of the programme to support a larger number of young Bahrainis seeking employment and experience.

He also expressed his gratitude to Bahrain's High Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, the Bahraini Hajj mission, and all local pilgrimage campaigns for their cooperation, commitment, and responsible conduct throughout the season. In a congratulatory note, Al-Musallam conveyed his warm regards to H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of Saudi Arabia's Shura Council, on the success of this year's pilgrimage. TDT | Manama Bahrain is positioning labour rights not just as a social necessity but as a driver of economic progress, according to His Excellency Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour. Addressing the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, H.E. Minister Khalaf said the Kingdom was committed to aligning employment policies with legal protections and social justice, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. 'Safeguarding workers' rights and promoting decent jobs are not just values, they are engines of development,' H.E. the minister said, reflecting on the conference theme, 'Forging the Link Between Jobs, Rights, and Economic Growth.' Integrated reforms H.E. the minister outlined a series of reforms and legal initiatives underway in Bahrain to protect trade union freedoms, support social dialogue, and strengthen workplace safety. The Minister drew attention to Bahrain's Tier 1 status in the US Department of State's Trafficking in Persons Report for the seventh consecutive year, calling it an international recognition of the Kingdom's effective and proactive efforts to combat exploitation. His Excellency Khalaf also noted the complete absence of child labour in the Kingdom, the country's anti-discrimination protections, and the rollout of updated occupational health and safety standards. Also stressed that Bahrain's labour vision also prioritises inclusion, with programmes aimed at increasing youth participation in the labour market and promoting the advancement of women in the workforce. TDT | Manama Bahrain's brightest young innovators are set to represent the Kingdom on the regional stage in Egypt this November, after topping INJAZ Bahrain's 17th Young Entrepreneurs Competition. Held at Crowne Plaza Bahrain, the event brought together more than 1,000 students from schools and universities nationwide, who pitched bold business ideas in a high-stakes entrepreneurial contest. Winning teams will now compete in the INJAZ Al-Arab Regional Young Entrepreneurs Competition in Cairo. Bold ideas The national-level contest featured 20 student-led companies formed under INJAZ Bahrain's flagship Company Programme, giving participants the chance to launch real businesses and build investor-ready products and services. This year's edition also marked the organisation's 20th anniversary, underscoring two decades of commitment to equipping youth with business acumen and leadership skills. Corporate support Major Bahraini companies supported the event, with five new special awards introduced by sponsors including Alba, Tamkeen, Beyon, Bapco Energies, Basrec, bni, CrediMax, and NBB. The event also celebrated the launch of a new Company Programme series and the conclusion of the Entaliq initiative with NBB.
