The much-awaited big-budget movie Maadeva is scheduled for release on June 6.andare the lead pair while Naveen Reddy B is the director.R Keshava (Devasandra) has bankrolled the movie. According to director Reddy, Maadeva is a period movie set in the 1980s. 'Vinod Prabhakar plays a hangman. Srinagar Kitty plays the villain while veteran actress Malashree makes a special appearance. We will release the movie on June 6,'' the director said.Vinod Prabhakar said director Reddy narrated the script during the lockdown. 'I agreed to act in the movie because of the script. No Kannada movie has been made about a hangman till date. Sonal Monteiro said she plays Parvathi. 'It is my second movie with Vinod Prabhakar after Roberrt,'' Monteiro said.

Mysuru: Poetess and writer Cha. Sarvamangala on Sunday stated that diverse dialects are the strength of Kannada language. Speaking at a lecture organised by the Karnataka Ekikarana Trust at the Kalamandira, she noted that Kannada is a diverse language with significant difference in the different dialects. People from various parts of the state should be invited to share their dialects, and efforts should be made to visit them and appreciate the nuances of their language, she said. She emphasised the need to create an environment of Kannada in every household and to ensure Kannada is predominantly used at home.
