Debenhams' 'gorgeous' and 'must buy' £55 midi dress 'feels expensive'

Debenhams shoppers praised the quality of the midi dress, calling it a "must buy"
Debenhams customers are raving about a "perfect" dress they're eagerly purchasing online. The well-known retailer is known for offering discounts on high-end products, and it might just have a new top pick.
The Oasis Satin Tie Shoulder Midi Bridesmaids Dress has been marked down to £55.30 from its original price of £79. It comes in sizes six to 18 and boasts a range of colours that includes blush, burnt orange, emerald, navy, champagne, sage, and more.
The detailed product description states: "Discover a dress for all occasions and reach for it on repeat. With delicate lace trims, feminine prints and flattering silhouettes, find your perfect style to take you from day to night. From versatile midis to maxi and mini lengths, your perfect dress is only a click away."
For those on the hunt for the ideal dress, there are plenty of other retailers to consider; New Look has the Black Zebra Print Ruffle Trimmed Maxi Dress priced at £47.99. Meanwhile, Next offers the Brown Leopard Animal Print Sleeveless Textured Jersey Dropwaist Maxi Dress for £36, and ASOS presents the Miss Selfridge seersucker tie shoulder tiered maxi dress in shell print for £29.99.
The Oasis gown boasts a commendable 4.4-star rating on the Debenhams website. One happy customer shared their thoughts saying: "So pleased with this dress. Ordered for bridesmaids for a wedding abroad. Quality of dress is wonderful," reports the Mirror.
A second shopper gushed about their purchase, saying: "Great dress, colour emerald. Gorgeous. Purchased this dress for a wedding abroad, the emerald colour is gorgeous and fit is perfect, can't wait to wear this."
Nevertheless, a customer highlighted an issue with consistency in sizing, noting: "Bad Sizing, ordered many dresses and not one was the same size as the other! Colour of some dresses also different."
Yet another buyer suggested accommodating a larger bust by choosing a bigger size, writing: "Lovely but size up if you have bigger chest. I bought these for my bridesmaids dresses and they were perfect and also wash really well. However, do size up if you have a bigger bust as there is no give."
One more added their voice, enthusiastically recommending the dress: "A must buy! I eagerly bought these for my bridesmaids (2025 bride) and I am SO glad I did. The dress looks perfect on all of my bridesmaids (size range 8-16)."
Emphasising the garment's finesse, they continued: " Very flattering, feels expensive- not cheap and thin, hides bra's well, sleeves are gorgeous, and is really comfortable. Would agree with the recommendations to size up if you've got bigger boobs. Very very very happy with these, so happy I found them."
Currently on offer, the Oasis Satin Tie Shoulder Midi Bridesmaids Dress has been marked down to £55.30 from its original price of £79. It is available in various colours here.

Sex Pistols legend John Lydon reveals he 'hates' Oasis' music and finds it 'difficult' to go to other people's gigs

has revealed he 'hates' Oasis' music and finds it difficult to enjoy himself at other people's gigs. The legendary rocker, 69, best known as the lead vocalist of the punk band the Sex Pistols, said he's likely one of the only British music stars who won't be attending the highly anticipated Oasis reunion shows. When asked if he would be going to see Noel, 58, and Liam Gallagher, 52, perform, he told The Sun: 'No. They're my mates but I hate their music. He added: 'It's very difficult for me to go to other people's gigs. People don't leave me alone and let me enjoy myself. 'I knocked it on the head a few years ago. I love dancing, you're enjoying yourself and some a*****e will stand right in front of you and waffle banal nonsense which is distracting you from the point and purpose.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Speaking to the publication from his UK tour with his band Public Image Ltd, John added that he loves Noel because he just 'says it like it is'. He also said that the Gallagher brothers make him laugh during interviews, describing them as 'witty' and 'on it in a working-class, quick-as-you-can way'. The interview comes after he opened up on the loss of his wife last month. The singer lost his beloved spouse of 44 years Nora Foster in April 2023 after a five-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. John, who was known as Johnny Rotten during his Sex Pistols days, had drawn an incredible amount of public sympathy following her death having selflessly cared for Nora full-time until her final hours. Now over two years after she passed, the extravagant singer has opened up on the 'agony' he felt as Nora suffered a painful death. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the 69-year-old said: 'The pain will never go away. She died painfully, suffocating. They call it the death rattle.' Recalling the moment doctors asked him whether they should prolong Nora's life, he added: 'I couldn't say "yes, stop". No, I fought for her life as hard as she fought for it. 'It's insane, and you don't know how to handle it (the death of a partner). And you can end up being really aggressive with people mollycoddling you. But you have to be full of rage to break out of it, or you'll end up as that sympathetic doddering old idiot that you know you would hate yourself.' The singer had previously admitted he 'always loved' Nora having met her in 1975 at a Vivienne Westwood clothes shop - 'there was an instant attraction,' he said. Following her death, John had 'wallowed in alcohol and sadness and self-pity,' he told Metro, but the singer has since come out of that struggle. He insists however that the agony of losing Nora will never go away. John is currently on his Not The Last Tour with his post-Sex Pistols band PiL (Public Image Ltd). Despite his grief, the artist insisted that the 28-date tour isn't a farewell but more a tongue-in-cheek dig at bands who falsely claim they're bowing out. 'The industry is riddled with artists claiming they're on their final tour but have already booked themselves for five years after,' he quipped. But while John is on his tour, his old band - consisting of Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock - are enjoying their own with new frontman Frank Carter. John previously blasted the Sex Pistols recent tour as 'karaoke', branding the group 'impossible to deal with'. The singer revealed he is indeed no longer on speaking terms with his old bandmates after they fell out over a Disney+ TV series he opposed. The dispute resulted in a High Court battle between John and the Sex Pistols over the use of the band's music in the series - which Rotten ultimately lost. John said he 'won't forget' that his old bandmates 'dragged him through the courts' while Nora was seriously ill. The Sex Pistols shot to fame after forming in 1975, but just three years later they had split up. Their only album together, Never Mind the B******s* - a UK number one - is now a staple of punk rock. The band - whose controversial legacy rests upon their anti-establishment values - famously called the Royal family 'fascists' in 1977's God Save The Queen. But in 1978, John formed Public Image Ltd, with the first line-up of the band including bassist Jah Wobble and former Clash guitarist Keith Levene. The group's lineup has changed several times over the last 40-plus-years with John remaining a constant member.

Can you guess the location of each album cover?

David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust cover was shot as monochrome and vividly coloured afterwards but it's of a real location can you guess the place and for the locations for seven other iconic album covers Fans were stunned when American pop-rock band Haim featured a photo of themselves on Portland Street near Manchester's Piccadilly Gardens on the front of their new single, Take Me Back. They are far from the only band to put a UK street firmly on the uber-cool place map by using it on a record cover. ‌ The Beatles did it, as did Oasis, The Clash, The Jam, The Streets and Madness - to name but a few - as this great gallery of album covers shows. ‌ Now it's time to put your musical and geographical knowledge to the test. Take a look at the album covers and the photographs and see if you can name that street! 1. Manchester's Oasis went down south to film the cover of this iconic album, which celebrates its 20th anniversary. The setting was a popular location for record shops in the 1990s. ‌ 2. The Jam's 1977 masterpiece This Is the Modern World shows Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, lurking under an overpass. That same year The Clash refers to the same road in their song about a certain city burning. ‌ 3. And pigs might fly … according to Pink Floyd's 1977 Animals album cover. But where is the landmark, that has recently had a very impressive facelift? ‌ 4. David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust cover was shot as monochrome and vividly coloured afterwards. The K West sign that hung above a furrier in 1982 has now been removed, but it remains an iconic street for Bowie fans ‌ 5. In 1977, The Clash released their debut studio album with a cove true to the spirit of punk rock—in a bohemian area popular with rebels young and old and home to iconic music venues like The Roundhouse. ‌ 6. The Beatles made this zebra crossing famous worldwide when it was used on the cover of their1969 studio album. Fans still flock here to recreate the image, outside the recording home of the Merseyside beat. But where is it? ‌ Lamar's 2015 Pimp A Butterfly album cover was shot in atmospheric monochrome and features a large group of black men and children, plus a baby cradled by Lamar himself on this US lawn, belonging to possibly the world 's most famous house. ‌ 8. English rapper Mike Skinner from The Streets chose this building in East Anglia for his 2011 Computer and Blues album after playing a student gig here. ‌ Answers: What's The Story Morning Glory, Berwick Street. Top postcard print picks from New Look, Nobody's Child and more

Minimalist fashion fans, look away now, this trend it all about dopamine dressing, playful prints and bold colourways As a fashion writer, I've learned to spot a trend from a mile away, and this summer there's one print that's been dominating my social media, high street window shopping sessions and online scrolls. There's no denying that for SS25, it's all about postcard prints. What is the postcard print? Well, I'm glad you asked. This playful design is characterised vibrant boxes or stamp-shapes adorned with feel-good, summer emblems such as fruit, suns, shells, tiles, florals, palm trees, olives - it's the fashion equivalent of a picky tea of all your warm-weather favourites, packaged in the style of a retro holiday scrapbook. The combination of colour, cheerful prints and a healthy dose of nostalgia make this a real standout trend, and one that's incredibly wearable. That said, it's not a style movement for those who favour minimalism and neutrals, which is worth bearing in mind. However, who's not to say they won't be tempted by some of my top picks. I've picked out four of the best postcard printed pieces available now on the high street, from favourites like Joanie, Nobody's Child and New Look. From dreamy dresses to cool and casual co-ords, here are four picks that prove postcard print is this summer's hero trend. Joanie Ithaca Postcard Print Boilersuit – £79 The postcard print was practically made for Joanie's vintage-inspired designs, and their Ithaca boilersuit is an easy, one-and-done outfit that makes summer styling a breeze. Made from organic cotton with a soft stretch, it's tailored for all day comfort without sacrificing style. Coming in sizes 8-26, the one-piece boasts a classic collar and short sleeves with an all-over watercolour postcard print. But don't be fooled into believing this is only good for warm weather dressing, because I've seen many fashion enthusiasts layer these boilersuits over a long sleeve t-shirt or rollneck for a spring or autumn vibe. You might struggle to style the sunshine-y print in the depths of winter, though. The elasticated waist is a big bonus, making it a flattering fit for all body types, while the pockets make it as practical as it is pretty. Plus shoppers have been raving about it, with one commenting: 'Love this jumpsuit, the watercolour print is beautiful, the material is quality and it fits like a dream.' Another added: 'Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! The print is beautiful the size I went up a size otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get on and off as I'm big busted and a big girl. It look so gorgeous on and I can't wait to wear it out.' Nobody's Child Starlight Midi Dress – £110 For something a little less kitsch, Nobody's Child offers a more contemporary take on the trend with their bestselling design - the Starlight dress. Available in sizes 6-18, it wins wearers over with romantic puff sleeves, covered buttons and a waist panel that skims in all the right places. The low v-neck is super flattering, and it even has pockets, meaning it ticks all the boxes of a summer statement piece. While Nobody's Child's website doesn't have any reviews, we did find some at Simply Be and John Lewis, with one shopper commenting: 'I'm absolutely obsessed with this dress. It fits perfectly - I usually wear a size 14, but the size 12 is spot on! The material is ridiculously soft and feels amazing against my skin. Plus, the gorgeous fruit stamp design is just the perfect touch. I'm so in love with this purchase! Five stars isn't enough - I'd give it ten stars if I could.' However, another added that the linen-heavy fabric, while ideal for the warm weather, is prone to creasing. They added: 'The dress is so different, in a good way, and the quality is fantastic. My only concern, which is my fault as I didn't read all of the description, is that there's a high content of linen which obviously makes the material very creased. Because there's so much dress, it'll be quite a chore to iron, or I could pay to get it professionally ironed, which would make it the dress that keeps on taking! Apart from that, it is a lovely, unusual dress which I'd definitely recommend.' New Look Cream Postcard Print Midi Dress – £34.99 As beautiful as the Nobody's Child dress is, there's no denying it carries a more premium price tag, as such, I've found a more affordable alternative in this New Look Cream Postcard Print Midi Dress for £34.99. Featuring tie detail at the neckline and flowy sleeves, it's decorated with a gorgeous postcard print. Coming in sizes 6-20, it's an easy piece to throw on and feel instantly pulled together. Its only review so far is five stars, with a happy customer praising its "flattering' fit, 'good length', and 'lovely light material." ASOS DESIGN Postcard Print Shirt and Trouser Co-ord – £24 (top), £26 (trousers) If dresses aren't your style, a co-ord is a super cool way to wear the trend, and ASOS is delivering all the chilled-out, coastal-grandpa vibes with this two-piece set. It comes in four sizes ranging from XS to L and is made from a lightweight linen-look fabric. The trousers offer a wide-leg silhouette and bloat-friendly drawstring waist, while the shirt's revere collar makes for a relaxed but put-together look. It's a really versatile two-piece that looks amazing worn together or split up. Perfect for packing light - or just looking like you did.
