Papakura High School in lockdown over 'incident'

Papakura High School says it has gone into lockdown because of an "incident". It's
the second school to go into lockdown
in Auckland on Friday.
It asks parents and caregivers not to come to the school.
"Please do not come to the school or phone the school as we will be unable to attend to you and this may cause disruption to the management of the incident and could potentially place yourself and/or staff or students' safety at risk."
Papakura High School say they will post an update when the lockdown has been completed.
Police have been approached for comment.

One injured after altercation in Awakeri, Bay of Plenty

Eastern Bay of Plenty Area Commander inspector Nicky Cooney said at about 4.30pm police were called to the altercation between two people at a property on State Highway 30. "One person appeared to have received critical injuries. The person taken into custody is assisting police with our enquiries." No one else was being sought in relation to the incident. Woman killed, man shot by police
A woman is dead after being shot by the police officers called to her home over concerns for her safety. A man remains in hospital in a stable condition after also being shot by police. Officers were called to the Kainga Ora property in the Christchurch suburb of Bryndwr about 11 o'clock last night after a person who knew the pair reported concerns for their safety as the man had a knife. 10 police officers went to the home with one officer armed with a long-rifle firing a single round at the man and another round at the woman.
