'India is loud at home but lonely abroad': Congress' Pawan Khera slams BJP govt's "muscular foreign policy"
Congress
leader
Pawan Khera
came down heavily on the BJP-led NDA government over the
foreign policy
and diplomacy tactics, claiming that the dispensation's so-called "muscular foreign policy" has collapsed under its own PR.
Taking a jibe at the BJP's government, the Congress leader went on to say - "India is loud at home but lonely abroad."
In a social media post on X, Khera pointed out several developments that according to him led to the "collapse" of India's foreign policy, including funding to Pakistan from different world forums and organisations, China's backing to Pakistan, Nepal's claim on India's Kalapterritory, OIC's stance on Jammu and Kashmir and several others.

Khera posted, "Saudi Arabia suspending visas for 14 countries, including India, is just the latest blow in a steady collapse of India's foreign policy under Modi. China blocked naming the attackers at the UN. Pakistan won the backing from China, Russia, Iran, Turkey, and Malaysia, all demanding a "fair probe."
He further pointed out, "
India's global standing
is crumbling: 1. G7 excluded India over the Canada-Khalistan fallout. G20 saw no breakthrough. 2. Maldives turns hostile with "India-Out" and a pro-China pivot 3. Sri Lanka and, Maldives lease strategic assets to Beijing 4. Nepal redrew its map to claim Indian territory 5. OIC and West Asia keep attacking India over Kashmir and Muslim rights 6. SCO and BRICS are now mouthpieces for China 7. Russia signs military and energy deals with Pakistan"
Live Events
The social media post added, "Meanwhile, Pakistan, despite economic collapse, bags $20B from World Bank, $1B from the IMF, $800M from ADB, tightens ties with Russia, and hijacks the Kashmir narrative. Turkey even sent a warship in its support. Iran offered to mediate. Qatar, Kuwait, and Malaysia echoed Islamabad's line."
"This dispensation's so-called muscular foreign policy has collapsed under its PR. India is loud at home but lonely abroad," Khera alleged.

Went for the country and spoke for the country: Tharoor on Op Sindoor outreach
New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who led a nine-member Indian delegation including MPs from different political parties as part of Operation Sindoor outreach to five countries, including the US and Brazil, on Tuesday said that the tour was hugely successful. "I went for the country and spoke for the country," said Tharoor while interacting with the Malayalam media here on Tuesday in response to a question about his party's outlook on the venture. Apart from Tharoor, the team included Sarfaraz Ahmad, Ganti Harish Madhur, Shashank Mani Tripathi, Bhubaneswar Kalita, Tejasvi Surya, and former Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and it also visited Panama, Guyana, and Colombia. "The whole purpose of the visit was to interact with think tanks, Presidents, Vice Presidents, parliamentarians and also former top political leaders and to brief them on what had happened,' said Tharoor. About his American visit, he said nothing about trade issues or about who 'intervened' to stop the aggression was raised during their interactions, in a reference to President Donald Trump's statements. "After explaining the Indian position, all have understood things, as Pakistan had presented a weak case, as terrorists had attacked tourists," he added. Asked about what he intends to do following the visit, he said: "I am going to submit a detailed report to the Prime Minister, and it will be my report." "The trip was very hectic as we were travelling at night and hardly got time to sleep," Tharoor added. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had selected Tharoor to be part of the delegation and lead it, after it was found out that the Congress party's list did not have the name of Tharoor. Ever since Tharoor decided to contest against the official party high command's nominee, Malikarjuna Kharge, for the post of Congress president, a majority in the Congress leadership was unhappy with him, but knowing his popularity, he managed to get support from a section of the party in Kerala. Tharoor is a four-time Congress MP from the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency since 2009.

Delhi Cabinet Approves Ordinance to Regulate Private School Fees
New Delhi: In a significant move aimed at protecting parents from arbitrary fee hikes, the Delhi Cabinet on Monday approved the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Ordinance, 2025. The decision was taken during the government's 8th cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat. Announcing the decision at a press conference, Delhi's Education Minister Ashish Sood said the ordinance is designed to rein in exploitative fee collection practices by private schools and bring long-awaited financial relief to parents. 'In the last 100 days, every cabinet meeting under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's leadership has resulted in key decisions in public interest,' Sood stated. 'Today's approval is a major step towards ensuring transparency and fairness in school fee structures.' The ordinance, once enacted, will prohibit private schools from arbitrarily increasing fees and is expected to directly impact over 1,600 private schools in the capital. It will take effect retroactively from April 1, 2025, following the President's assent. This means parents who were compelled to pay steep fees earlier this academic year may be eligible for relief. Sood added that the ordinance will be sent to the Lieutenant Governor, who will forward it to the President of India for approval. 'This is a historic day for Delhi's middle-class families,' said Sood. 'For years, under the previous AAP government, parents were burdened by unchecked fee hikes. The BJP government is now taking a decisive step to end this injustice.' He also highlighted that this is the first major education-related legislative initiative by a BJP-led government in Delhi in nearly three decades. Framing the move as part of the broader vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,' Sood emphasized the government's commitment to transparent and citizen-centric enacted, the ordinance will serve as a regulatory framework for Delhi's 1,677 private schools, ensuring that fee hikes are justified, accountable, and in line with parents' expectations.

Ordinance to curb fee hike in private schools cleared by Delhi Cabinet
The Delhi Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Ordinance aimed at curbing arbitrary fee hikes in private schools — a move that the government says will bring long-awaited relief to lakhs of students and their families in the Capital. 'The Ordinance will curb arbitrary fee collection by private schools. The previous governments did nothing to check exploitative hikes by these schools,' Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood said at a press conference. The Ordinance, titled 'The Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Ordinance 2025,' was approved during the eighth meeting of the Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday. The government had earlier prepared a draft of the Bill, which was due to be presented in May in the Assembly during the second half of the Budget session. However, the session was later cancelled. Once enacted, following President Droupadi Murmu's nod, the Ordinance will prevent private schools from raising fees without oversight and will apply retroactively from April 1 this year, the government said.'This retrospective provision will especially benefit those parents who were pressured into paying exorbitant and unjustified fees,' Sood said. He described the Ordinance as a 'major move towards ending financial exploitation of hardworking parents and ensuring greater transparency in the education system'. This is the first major education-related law that the Delhi government has pursued in nearly 27 years, the ruling party claimed. 'Today's decision stands out as a major step towards ending exploitative fee collection practices by private schools,' the government said. The move, said Sood, is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' (development for all). The Minister promised that the Ordinance would 'secure the future of children studying in private schools.' The Education Minister was critical of the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration, accusing it of failing to check fee exploitation. 'During the tenure of previous governments, particularly the AAP, parents of children studying in private schools were repeatedly subjected to financial exploitation,' Sood said. 'Today, the BJP government in Delhi has taken a landmark decision to end this longstanding injustice,' he added. Earlier, the AAP too had criticised the BJP government for failing to check fee hikes after the party came to power in February. Once implemented, the Ordinance is expected to apply to all 1,677 private schools in Delhi, according to the Education Minister. 'This is a historic day for Delhi's middle-class families,' he added.
