Tina Fey's 5-Word Response to ‘The Golden Girls' Reboot Rumors
Tina Fey's upcoming Netflix miniseries, The Four Seasons, marks something of a departure for the former Saturday Night Live star.
As a triple-threat comedian, writer, and actress, the bulk of Fey's previous projects have typically sprung at least partly from her own imagination (see: 30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Mr. Mayor). But The Four Seasons is a remake of a 1981 rom-com written, directed by, and starring Alan Alda.The idea of Fey adapting previously created material got fans thinking about what other projects they might like to see her attempt—one of which seemed to have morphed from fan-created idea to full-on viral rumor. As People reports, the nine-time Emmy winner was asked about it during a red carpet event for the Netflix miniseries.
ET's Brice Sander caught up with Fey on the red carpet to ask her about the rumors—complete with an image that's been circulating of what the reboot might look like. (For the record, it's purported to star Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, and Lisa Kudrow, and the photo has been floating around on social media for more than a year.)
Fey admitted that it wasn't the first time she had seen the image, which she happens to find pretty funny—in a ridiculous sort of way. 'I like that this was fooling people,' she said of the image. 'Like, why would we ever take a picture where Amy [Poehler] and Lisa Kudrow are in costume, but [Maya Rudolph and I] are not?'
Fey then took a minute to address whoever was watching the video directly, letting them know, 'If this fooled you, you might be a Boomer. And if you're Gen-X and this fooled you? Go to a hospital.'
In case her commentary didn't make it clear, Fey is not working on an update of The Golden Girls—and with good reason. 'I would never touch this,' she said of the beloved sitcom. 'This is too perfect. The original… those ladies can't be touched.'

After the PDA photos, a source told PEOPLE there were on-set rumors that the co-stars "had intense chemistry even when not filming" but that they had only recently started "exploring their chemistry" in real life. The source added that White "really seems into" Gordon. Elsewhere in her Vanity Fair interview, Gordon opened up about how she was cast on The Bear. Having previously met creator Christopher Storer, she said she signed up for the restaurant drama only knowing she'd be playing a doctor — not that she'd be Carmy's love interest, whom he affectionately calls "Claire Bear." "I'm always 'the friend,' " she said. "I've never played the romantic person. I was like, 'Whoa, this is going to be a different experience.' " Gordon said White's protagonist "is a character that people feel so protective over, and it's been kind of controversial to bring a romantic element into the show." Halle Bailey-DDG Drama: Alleged Threatening Texts
Halle Bailey and DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) are currently in the middle of a custody battle, and it looks like they might be headed back to court. The 25-year-old singer and actor shares a 17-month-old son named Halo with the 27-year-old popular streamer and rapper. Halo was born on December 23, 2023, and in October 2024, DDG announced that he and Halle had split. Four months after giving birth, Halle revealed she was dealing with "severe" postpartum depression — "I have severe, severe postpartum [depression], and I don't know if any new moms can relate, but it's to the point where it's really bad, and it's hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out." Since the breakup, the two have been embroiled in a messy fallout that doesn't appear to be getting any closer to reconciliation. Their disputes include cheating accusations, allegations of abuse, and even claims that Halle was keeping Halo from his father. Last month, Halle was granted a restraining order against DDG, alleging, 'Throughout our relationship, Darryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me. I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son, Halo, from his ongoing abuse.' She detailed an alleged incident that occurred while they were trying to get Halo into his car seat — "We fought each other, wrestling and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped. The documents also showed DDG requested a domestic violence restraining order against The Little Mermaid star, alleging that Halle poses an "imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child based on repeated, documented threats of self-harm." He stated that if Halle traveled internationally with Halo, the toddler wouldn't have proper protection from the court or any "emergency intervention mechanisms." DDG included alleged text conversations with Halle to support his claims. Through the messages, DDG said Halle shared "repeated threats of suicide and self-harm," while also putting their son in danger during her emotional distress. Part of the emotional distress in the alleged texts also shows Halle begging for help with Halo and DDG seemingly not acknowledging her pleas. He claimed that during one altercation between them, Halle took his gun and left the house with it. When he found her outside the house holding the gun, she was allegedly "emotionally unwell, incoherent and potentially suicidal." According to a new report per The Independent, DDG's request for a domestic violence restraining order against Halle has been denied.
