Mercedes-Benz hikes prices in India by up to 1.5%; new rates effective from June and September 2025
Mercedes-Benz has announced a price revision across its entire Indian lineup, with increases of up to 1.5 per cent to be rolled out in two stages. The first phase of the hike will take effect from 1 June 2025, followed by a second increment on 1 September 2025. According to the company, this two-stage process is designed to soften the financial impact on customers and provide more flexibility in planning their purchases.
The luxury carmaker confirmed that prices will rise by amounts ranging from ₹ 90,000 to ₹ 12.2 lakh, depending on the model. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class will see the smallest increase of ₹ 90,000, raising its starting price to ₹ 60.3 lakh (ex-showroom).
The GLC 300 4MATIC will become dearer by ₹ 1.5 lakh, with its new price set at ₹ 78.3 lakh. Meanwhile, the E 200 will see a rise of ₹ 2 lakh, taking its new price to ₹ 81.5 lakh. The GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line will have a price increase of ₹ 2.5 lakh, pushing its sticker price to ₹ 1.01 crore.
The EQS SUV 450 4MATIC will see a ₹ 3 lakh jump, making its new price ₹ 1.31 crore, while the GLS 450 4MATIC will now cost ₹ 1.37 crore after a ₹ 3.1 lakh increase. The most substantial hike applies to the flagship Mercedes-Maybach S 680, which will see its price rise by ₹ 12.2 lakh, taking it to ₹ 3.60 crore. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
Mercedes-Benz stated that despite having absorbed rising operational costs for some time, it is now compelled to pass on a portion of these costs to customers to ensure business sustainability. The company attributed the need for the price revision primarily to the sharp increase in foreign exchange rates since January 2025, which has significantly impacted the cost structure of components and fully imported models.
Explaining the rationale behind the two-stage price hike, Mercedes said that the staggered approach would allow customers to plan their purchases more effectively and opt for finance schemes that best suit their needs. The company highlighted that for popular models like the GLC and GLC SUVs, the increase in monthly instalments would be less than ₹ 2,000 after the price adjustment. Through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, the company offers various flexible payment options, including lower interest rates, reduced EMIs, and partial ownership schemes.

India rejected the charges as 'absurd' and 'motivated'. On Friday, Carney declined to say whether he believed India had any involvement in Nijjar's death. 'There is a legal process that is literally under way and quite advanced in Canada, and it's never appropriate to make comments with respect to those legal processes,' Carney told. Carney, however, added that Canada and India had agreed to 'continued law enforcement dialogue,' though he did not confirm whether this includes cooperation in the Nijjar investigation. In the 2024 appraisal cycle, the employee listed his achievements. He said that most of the management appreciated his work, but 'that one influential person didn't". The user said that this was because he was not one of those trying to please that person constantly. The employee resigned in April 2024, but was retained with the promise of being given a 55% hike one year later, that is in April 2025. This was only a verbal agreement with no written record. During the 2025 appraisal cycle, he got only a 37% hike instead of 55% as promised. However, this was not the reason for his resignation. The user explains the backdrop by stating that he got engaged in December 2024, married in February 2025, and lost his father in April 2025. During the appraisal, he had a one-on-one meeting with his team lead, who said, 'You should have resigned around your wedding, do you even realize how much your marriage delayed the work? Because of your father's situation and the leave you took, my timeline commitment couldn't be fulfilled." This stunned the techie. 'That was the final straw for me. I looked at him and said very calmly, 'Please watch what you're saying and think before you speak. Choose your next words carefully,'" he said. According to the official PIBFactCheck post released on Tuesday, 3 June 2025, a video went viral on social media in which a news anchor from the YouTube channel 'Capital TV' claimed that India is set to discontinue the circulation of ₹ 500 banknotes effective March 2026. 'A #YouTube video on the YT Channel 'CAPITAL TV' (capitaltvind) falsely claims that the RBI will discontinue the circulation of ₹ 500 notes by March 2026,' according to the PIBFactCheck announcement post on platform X. Calling out this social media claim, the Indian government issued an official 'Fact Check' in which they said that the nation's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has made no such announcements about any potential or upcoming demonetisation move. The government also assured the people of the nation that the ₹ 500 banknotes 'have not been discontinued' and continue to serve as a 'legal tender' form of the official Indian currency. The government also warned people to stay alert to 'fake news' and videos circulated on social media platforms and not to believe anything unless it comes from official sources like the RBI. 'Don't fall for such misinformation. Always verify news from official sources before believing or sharing it!' said the Indian government, warning people against similar misinformation circulating on social media platforms. In May 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that it would soon release new ₹ 20 banknotes with Governor Sanjay Malhotra's signature on them. 'The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue ₹ 20 denomination Banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series bearing the signature of Shri Sanjay Malhotra, Governor. The design of these notes is similar in all respects to ₹ 20 banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series,' said the RBI. RBI also disclosed that the ₹ 20 notes will be similar in all other aspects, including design, to the new series of notes circulating in the nation, except for the new governor's signature. The central bank also assured the people of the nation that all the banknotes which contain the denomination of ₹ 20 issued by the RBI in the past will continue to hold legal tender in India, according to the official release.
