Ryan Williams Makes Surprising Admission About First Season at Alabama
Ryan Williams Makes Surprising Admission About First Season at Alabama originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Ryan Williams introduced himself to the college football world last season. The Alabama Crimson Tide receiver earned freshman All-American honors from 247Sports, On3, and Pro Football Focus. Somehow, he's still not satisfied with what he was able to accomplish.

Williams spoke to On3's Andy Staples last week about his experience at the cover photo shoot for EA College Football 26. He appears on that video game's front alongside Ohio State Buckeyes star Jeremiah Smith, who also entered the limelight as a true freshman.
"Whenever we were in Pasadena, of course, we talked about last season and him winning a national championship," Williams said. "I was super happy for him. But we both agreed that, although last year was super fun, super great and we both had very good freshmen seasons, we left a lot on the table. And we both agreed on that.
"Just with that experience from last season, we're super excited (about) what's to come this season."

Williams, a first-team All-SEC honoree, paced Kalen DeBoer's Crimson Tide with 865 receiving yards and eight touchdown grabs. Only Germie Bernard had more catches (50) than Williams (48). That pair will catch passes from either Ty Simpson, Keelon Russell, or Austin Mack this upcoming season.

To surpass DeVonta Smith and become the greatest all-time statistical pass-catcher at Alabama, Williams will need to average 94 receptions, over 1,550 receiving yards, and north of 19 touchdowns over the next two go-rounds. That's also assuming that Williams will declare for the NFL Draft after his junior campaign.

Braves Make Jurickson Profar Announcement Ahead of Mets Series
Braves Make Jurickson Profar Announcement Ahead of Mets Series originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Left field has been a revolving door for the Atlanta Braves this season, with the team struggling to find steady production from the position. Advertisement Some help could soon arrive, as Jurickson Profar is set to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Profar, 32, was Atlanta's lone significant free agent addition last winter, signing a three-year, $42 million deal in January. He was pencilled in as the team's starting left fielder, but has yet to play a home game for the Braves. After appearing in four games, a series against the San Diego Padres, Profar was handed an 80-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs on March 31. Any further postponements would delay Profar's return another day. Jason Kelce's Priceless Reaction to Eagles Fan's Questionable Gesture
Jason Kelce's Priceless Reaction to Eagles Fan's Questionable Gesture originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Longtime NFLer-turned-ESPN television personality Jason Kelce has a special relationship with Philadelphia Eagles fans. Advertisement The retired former All-Pro center started 193 games for the franchise across his 13 NFL seasons, winning one Super Bowl. Kelce is still very much interwoven into the fabric of the Eagles community — he still appears at many team events and his wife Kylie helps organize fundraising for the Eagles Autism Foundation. Known for their rowdy nature and passion for going against the grain, Eagles fans embody much of the same characteristics Kelce did during his playing days. Advertisement Philadelphia sports blog Crossing Broad posted a video on X of a tattoo one overzealous Eagles fan recently got depicting a shirtless Kelce with an eagle head protruding from between his legs. The video got a hearty reaction from Kelce, who likely had a very similar shocked response like the rest of social media. 'I'm not sure if I should be offended or flattered,' Kelce wrote on X. During Kelce's career, he was regarded as one of, if not the top centers in the NFL. He was named to the Pro Bowl seven times and he was a six-time first-team All-Pro selection. Panthers' Matthew Tkachuk Makes Candid Admission About Injury Scare
Panthers' Matthew Tkachuk Makes Candid Admission About Injury Scare originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Florida Panthers are one win away from a second straight Stanley Cup, but Matthew Tkachuk came dangerously close to missing this entire playoff run. Advertisement The Panthers placed Matthew Tkachuk on long-term injured reserve (LTIR) at the start of March, ruling him out for the remainder of the regular season with a groin injury at that point and without knowing if he'd be available for the playoffs. Tkachuk revealed on Monday that not even he was sure if he'd even be healthy in time to suit up for Game 1 of the first round back in April. Speaking to reporters before Tuesday's Game 6, Tkachuk said the outlook was bleak just days before the postseason began. 'I didn't know if I was gonna come back at the start,' Tkachuk said. 'I kinda found out the day before (the playoffs) that I was gonna have a chance to play—the day of, honestly.' Advertisement Tkachuk had been dealing with a lower-body injury suffered during the 4 Nations Face-Off in February. The groin issue forced him to miss Florida's final 25 regular-season games after limiting him to just 6:47 of ice time in the 4 Nations final. The uncertainty carried right up to the opening night of the playoffs. 'I thought there was maybe a 50% chance I wouldn't be playing about a week or five days before playoffs,' Tkachuk said. 'I'm very lucky and fortunate that I've got great trainers and doctors. They all somehow got me healthy enough to play.' Florida Panthers left wing Matthew Tkachuk (19)Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports Tkachuk acknowledged that he wasn't close to 100% in the first round against Tampa Bay, which he called the worst of them "by far." Advertisement 'The first round was definitely the worst I felt, by far,' Tkachuk said. 'I knew that even at nowhere close to what I expect out of myself, I needed to help out as best I (could). I was proud of myself and happy for playing that round.' Tkachuk surely overtook any issue and has appeared in all 22 postseason games for the Panthers this playoffs, scoring 22 points, including seven goals and 15 assists, entering Game 6 against the Oilers on Tuesday.
