Peters, 52, of Stuart, were taken into custody 2:37 a.m., 3:26 a.m., and 4:28 a.m. respectively, Aug. 11 near mile marker 93 on Interstate 80. According to a Stuart Police report, at approximately 11:44 p.m. Aug. 10, a traffic stop was conducted on a 2010 Ford Focus, after police identified Teske as the driver. Teske is known by officers to have a barred driver's license. Bohl, the front-seat passenger, told officers she was the registered owner of the car and was asked for consent to search the vehicle, which she granted. Prior to being taken into custody, she later gave officers consent to search her purse. A small plastic baggie with a white crystalline substance identified as methamphetamine, was located. Bohl has a prior conviction for possession of methamphetamine in 2020 in Madison County. The backseat passenger, identified as Peters, was asked if she had anything in her possession that she shouldn't have, at which time Peter's admitted to having a small amount of marijuana and a "tooter" (commonly used to snort narcotics). Officers located both items in a backpack identified as belonging to Peters. After occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of narcotics, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. Officers located two pipes used to smoke methamphetamine in a bag containing male clothing. No one in the vehicle claimed ownership of the pipes. While searching the rear passenger seat area where Peters had been seated, a pair of jean shorts were found on the floor board. The pockets of the shorts contained a pill bottle that had a plastic straw and a small baggie containing a crystalline substance. When asked about the pill bottle, Peters told officers she had asked a friend for some pain medication and he must have given her the wrong bottle. Peters has multiple prior drug convictions. All three were transported to the Adair County Jail where Teske was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond and Bohl was released from after posting $1,000 cash of surety bond.
