VITURE launches new series of XR glasses for gamers, enthusiasts, and professionals

The XR glasses market is getting increasingly crowded with major players like Google, Samsung, and Apple all looking to enter the space. However, those tech giants have their work cut out for them as competitors like Xreal and VITURE have their own products in the works. In the case of VITURE, it's ready to launch a new range of XR glasses, as well as a flagship model.
Today, VITURE announced the launch of its Luma series XR glasses. This new series includes three models: the Luma, Luma Pro, and Luma Ultra. Along with the Luma series, the XR wearable maker is also launching a model called 'The Beast' that will serve as its flagship.
According to the company, the Luma series is 50% sharper than its previous offering, the VITURE Pro. Meanwhile, The Beast is set to be VITURE's most advanced pair of XR glasses, boasting Sony's next-gen micro OLED panel.
The Luma Pro will be the first model available, going on sale starting today for $499. For that price tag, you get a 152″ virtual display, 52 degrees FoV, '4K-like' resolution, dynamic light effects, three degrees of freedom tracking, electrochromatic dimming, magnetic nose pads, and top-mounted dials. The Pro is described as being optimized for gaming. As such, you can use it with the Nintendo Switch 2, Steam Deck, PlayStation, PC, and so on.

In August, availability for the $599 Luma Ultra will open up. However, this model is designed to be for enterprise customers. Unlike the Pro, it features a triple camera system that includes an RGB camera and depth sensors. These sensors are meant to provide six degrees of freedom tracking and gesture recognition. It will also sport Sony's micro OLED panel, like The Beast. While the Pro is designed for gaming, VITURE says this model is for AI training, virtual walkthroughs, and spatial collaboration. When it becomes available, it will be compatible with PC, Mac, Pro neckband workflows, with mobile support to come later.
Meanwhile, the base model Luma won't be ready until September. When it goes on sale, it will cost $399. Being the cheapest option, you're getting base-level specs like 50 degrees FoV, a 146″ virtual screen, 1000 nits of brightness, three degrees of freedom tracking, and '4K-like' resolution.
As for The Beast, you can mark your calendar for October. Despite being VITURE's most advanced XR glasses, The Beast will be slightly cheaper than the Ultra at $549. It will also have many of the features that the Ultra has, but also offers a 58-degree FoV and up to a 176″ virtual display. However, it will lack the dual depth cameras found on the Ultra.

The Apple Watch Series 11 is likely right around the corner. Every year, Apple tends to close out smartwatch launch season with a September release that follows new watches from Samsung and Google in July and August, respectively. I already got my hands on the latest Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and put it through thorough testing, with impressive results. The Google Pixel Watch 4, meanwhile, is slated for a likely August 20 debut at the Made by Google event taking place on that date. While nothing has been confirmed, rumors hint at a seriously upgraded next-gen Pixel Watch from Google. Assuming those rumors come to fruition and based on all we learned about the Galaxy Watch 8, Apple has its work cut out this time around. With that in mind, these are the five upgrades Apple needs to make to keep the Apple Watch Series 11 relevant against its core competition. Multi-band GPS isn't just for super-high-end smartwatches anymore. Both the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 8 offer multi-band GPS, while the Apple Watch Series 10 relies on a single-band GPS antenna. In short, more bands mean better connectivity in tricky locations where the sky might be obstructed. Think: city centers and heavily wooded areas. While the Google Pixel Watch 3 similarly sports single-band GPS, rumors suggest that the new Pixel Watch 4 could get an upgrade to match the latest Galaxy Watches. If that occurs, Apple will be the only major smartwatch manufacturer whose flagship device doesn't offer multi-band. And even though the Apple Watch Series 10 is a fairly reliable fitness tracker, there's certainly room for improvement. For example, when I recently biked 12 miles with the Apple Watch 10 vs the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8, the latter proved more accurate. That bike route, notably, included a lot of trees and tall buildings. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Unlike Samsung, Google and Garmin, Apple doesn't provide any sort of daily energy or sleep score to help users better understand their overall health. This is a shame. Of course, the best Apple Watch models already provide a decent level of sleep insights, even if it's not as detailed as what you get from Samsung or Garmin. However, the addition of a numeric sleep score out of 100 would bring Cupertino's sleep insights much more in line with industry leaders. Likewise, some sort of score that takes into account both sleep quality and recent physical fitness would also be a major upgrade for Apple Watch owners (and something I've been wanting for a long time, too). After all, Garmin's Body Battery metric has been around since 2018, and Fitbit's Readiness Score goes back to 2021. That said, Samsung's Energy Score only debuted last summer, so Apple isn't alone in joining the energy score party late. Let's just hope this is the year it happens. Ever since the very first Apple Watch model arrived more than a decade ago, the flagship Apple Watch series has been stubbornly stuck at just 18 hours per charge in standard mode. However, with the latest Galaxy Watch 8 models cruising for 30 hours per charge for the 40mm and 44mm models and 40-plus hours for the 46mm Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, Apple had better take battery life a bit more seriously this time around. Likewise, in our testing, the smaller Pixel Watch 3 model was good for about 24 hours per charge, while the larger Pixel Watch 3 battery is good for 48 hours per charge. Expect those numbers to increase slightly when the Pixel Watch 4 debuts. For the last handful of years, each new generation of the best smartwatch has debuted with a noticeably brighter screen, and 2025 sees the trend continuing. Samsung bumped up maximum brightness to 3,000 nits on the Galaxy Watch 8, an increase of 50% over the Galaxy Watch 7 (2,000 nits max brightness). With rumors suggesting that the Pixel Watch 4 will see a similar increase to 3,000 nits, here's hoping Apple follows suit. For reference, the Apple Watch Series 10 maxes at 2,000 nits while the Apple Watch Ultra 2 tops out at 3,000 nits. I've been pleasantly surprised by how actually useful Google's Gemini AI assistant is on the Galaxy Watch 8. Whether it's inquiring about my dog eating too many blueberries or asking for clothing recommendations for an upcoming trip, what I get from Gemini on the Galaxy Watch is a far cry from the Apple Watch's on-wrist Siri experience. The Google Pixel Watch 4 will almost certainly debut with Gemini AI as well, leaving Apple Watch owners to ask, 'What about us?' Unfortunately, as of right now, there's little to suggest that an Apple Intelligence-powered Siri will show up in the Apple Watch Series 11 this fall (an overhauled Siri in spring 2026 is much more likely), and that's a real bummer. While folks with the best smartwatch models for Android are having all their most burning questions answered with ease from the wrist, watchOS fans will likely have to wait at least another six months or more before an AI assistant as good as Gemini makes its way to the Apple Watch.

Claude is getting a better, if selective, memory. Rather than acting as perfect catalog of everything you've talked about or shared, Anthropic says the AI chatbot now has the ability to reference past chats when asked, so you don't have to re-explain yourself. The feature seems like it could help you pick up a work project after time away, or query Claude for the details of a past research session that you don't quite remember. The key point is that Claude has to be prompted: It doesn't call on past chats unless you specifically ask it to. Anthropic also says that Claude's ability to reference chats is specific to the workspace and project you're working in. Anthropic's implementation is much more limited in scope compared to how ChatGPT's memory feature works. OpenAI updated ChatGPT in April to save all conversations you have with it, and rely on those records to personalize answers to any new question or prompt you send. The basic idea is that every conversation could improve the chatbot's responses. Google lets Gemini similarly recall past conversations and has also tested using Google Search history to further personalize AI responses. In contrast to both, Claude is really only performing a search of past conversations when asked, not referencing a profile of past chats. It's more privacy-minded by default and you can disable Claude's ability to do it at all via a settings toggle. If you're subscribed to the Max, Team or Enterprise plans, Claude's new ability should be rolling out now, according to Anthropic. The company says the feature will expand to other plans soon.
