Bengaluru: Tired Of Paying Daily For BMTC Buses? Here's The Rs 750 Weekly Pass You Need

Last Updated: The pass can be purchased directly through the app, making it quick and convenient for daily commuters. The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced a new weekly travel pass. Designed especially for frequent users of the Vajra bus service, this move is part of BMTC's broader effort to boost public transport usage in the city. What Does The Pass Offer? Starting this Friday, commuters can purchase a Rs 750 weekly pass that allows unlimited travel on Vajra, ordinary, and express BMTC buses. However, toll charges are not included in this pass. As per Hindustan Times, those using Vajra Express services will need to pay an additional Rs 10 service charge per ride, along with standard toll fees. How Can Commuters Buy This Pass? The BMTC has made the process simple and digital. Commuters can purchase the weekly pass via the Tummoc mobile app, ensuring easy access without waiting in long queues. However, this pass does not apply to Vayu Vajra (airport buses) or any other special BMTC services. This route is designed to improve last-mile connectivity in some of Bengaluru's most traffic-heavy areas. Currently, one bus is operating on this route, making 10 trips a day—five in each direction. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Now, book tickets on these 8 Vande Bharat trains just 15 minutes before arriving at station

Indian Railways Ticket Booking: Good news for travellers. Now, passengers can book tickets on these eight Vande Bharat Express just 15 minutes before the train arrives at their station. To enable this, the Indian Railways has made some changes to the Passenger Reservation System (PRS). The move is aimed at improving passenger experience and streamlining hassle-free current bookings at en route stations for Vande Bharat Express trains. However, these changes have been introduced on Vande Bharat trains operated by the Southern Railway (SR) zone. In a statement, the zonal railway said: 'For the 8 Vande Bharat trains originating from Southern Railway, current reservations can be done at enroute stations upto 15 minutes before the departure.' Earlier, this facility was limited, curtailing the passengers from booking from enroute stations once the train leaves the source station. Under the new rule, vacant seats on Vande Bharat trains will now be available for current booking at en route stations, significantly benefitting passengers and enabling better occupancy of the train. The SR has done the modification in the Passenger Reservation System for the following 8 Vande Bharat trains: At present, a total of 144 Vande Bharat Express trains are running across various routes in the country. According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Vande Bharat Express trains have been running with over 100 per cent on all routes. 'The overall occupancy of Vande Bharat Express trains in Financial Year 2024-25 & 2025-26 (till June, 2025) is 102.01% & 105.03% respectively,' Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed Lok Sabha on Wednesday (July 30, 2025). India's first bullet train to start soon: Vaishnaw

Ahmedabad: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday announced that India's first bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will begin operations very soon, reducing travel time between the two cities to just 2 hours and 7 minutes. He was speaking to reporters at the Bhavnagar terminus in Gujarat after virtually flagging off three trains, namely the Ayodhya Express, Rewa Pune Express, and Jabalpur Raipur Express. He further stated that the bullet train project is progressing rapidly. The 508-kilometre high-speed rail corridor will connect Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) with key cities in Gujarat, including Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad. The trains are expected to run at speeds of up to 320 km/hour. Vaishnaw also outlined several upcoming railway projects in Gujarat, including a new Porbandar–Rajkot train, a Rs 135-crore coach maintenance facility at Ranavav station, a railway flyover in Porbandar, two Gati Shakti cargo terminals, and a container terminal at a developing port in Bhavnagar. He highlighted the nation's progress, saying that during the last 11 years, 34,000 km of new railway tracks have been installed under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi administration, averaging almost 12 km per day. He described the 1,300 railway stations undergoing renovation as an unprecedented endeavour in the history of Indian Railways. Ashwini Vaishnaw pointed out that India is implementing this change while maintaining train operations and keeping stations operational, which reflects the scope of PM Modi's vision, in contrast to developed nations, where station redevelopment entails completely stopping services.
