Only Fools and Horses musical close to a sell out in Southampton
Comedy giant Paul Whitehouse reprises his West End starring role as Grandad in the debut tour of the smash hit show, which he wrote alongside Jim Sullivan, son of the original writer.
The pair took John Sullivan's 64 unforgettable television adventures featuring the Trotter brothers Del and Rodney and blended them into one perfect night out.

Direct from a record-breaking sold-out four-year run in London, the show takes us on a trip back in time, where it's all kicking off in Peckham.
While the yuppie invasion of London is in full swing, love is in the air as Del Boy sets out on the rocky road to find his soul mate, Rodney and Cassandra prepare to say 'I do', and even Trigger is gearing up for a date (with a person!). Meanwhile, Boycie and Marlene give parenthood one final shot and Grandad takes stock of his life and decides the time has finally arrived to get his piles sorted.
With musical contributions from Chas & Dave, the beloved theme tune as you've never heard it before, and an array of brand-new songs full of character and cockney charm, you're guaranteed to have a right ol' knees-up!
Jim said: "The story of the Trotters of Peckham spanned over two decades and included births, deaths and marriages. Our job was to boil that down into a single two hour story with songs! Ultimately, we are not trying to reinvent the series but rather to pay homage to it. What we've ended up with is (hopefully) something that captures and celebrates the heart and spirit of what the series was all about."
(Image: Johan Persson) Paul added: "It was amazing to see the musical so well received during its four years in the West End. I can't wait to get back into Grandad's hat and slippers and take the show to new audiences around the country."
So don't delay, only a 42 carat plonker would miss it!

David Hare play starring Ralph Fiennes transfers to the West End
Sir David Hare's play Grace Pervades, starring Conclave actor Ralph Fiennes, is to make its transfer to the West End. The production, starring Fiennes, 62, and Spooks actress Miranda Raison, played at the Theatre Royal Bath between June and July. Directed by Jeremy Herrin, the play tells the story of Victorian stage actors Sir Henry Irving and Dame Ellen Terry and Ellen's children Edith Craig and Edward Gordon Craig – who made their own contribution to the development of British theatre. From April 2026, the play will move to Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited West End season. Fiennes is performing and directing a selection of plays as part of Theatre Royal Bath's Ralph Fiennes season, details of which were announced earlier in the year. Fiennes first took to the stage at Theatre Royal Bath in 2021 when he performed TS Eliot's Four Quartets – a set of four poems. His other recent theatre work includes Macbeth on tour, Sir David's Straight Line Crazy at the Bridge Theatre and Antony And Cleopatra at the National Theatre. Fiennes is also known for his film work and played Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter series and Cardinal Lawrence in the Oscar-winning film Conclave, which led to nominations in the leading actor categories at the Baftas and Academy Awards earlier this year. Further casting for the London production will be announced soon. Tickets will go on sale from mid-September.

Gomez shared another makeup look from Nicole in her Instagram Stories on Sunday in which she is wearing a black halter and has her hair down in flowing waves. In those selfies, she wore her marquise diamond engagement ring from Blanco. The couple has been engaged since December 2024. On August 7, in an episode of the podcast Therapuss with Jake Shane, Gomez shared that she and her fiancé first met when she was 16 to work on a project that never came through. 'I feel like he was an acquaintance, if that makes sense,' she said. 'To be honest, we weren't besties. I just thought he was nice, and then we did a few songs together.' But when they met yet again a few years ago, romance blossomed. Though Gomez said she 'couldn't be more excited,' the wedding is not happening anytime soon. 'There's so much happening at the moment,' she explained. 'He's working on some projects that he has to wrap up, and we just have things we want to finish and our own personal endeavors before we get into all the nitty-gritty. I just have really never felt so sure about something, and I also don't want to jinx it by saying that.'
