Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg's death was diabetes-related
Michelle Trachtenberg, the American actress best known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, died from natural causes related to complications of diabetes, according to the New York City medical examiner's office.
The 39-year-old was discovered unresponsive in her New York City apartment in February. Although no autopsy was performed, honoring her family's religious beliefs, officials said toxicology results provided a clear determination of her cause of death.
Trachtenberg's family, practicing Orthodox Jews, requested that no post-mortem examination be carried out. The medical examiner respected their wishes, citing the absence of any suspicious circumstances surrounding her passing.
A source familiar with the matter told NBC News that the actress had previously undergone a liver transplant, though the timing and reason for the procedure remain unknown.

'After visiting Jordan late last year, my team and I were astonished by the breadth of available landscapes and the production service infrastructure already in place at Olivewood,' said Mosallam, who joined the company earlier this year following roles at Apple TV+ and Netflix. 'Now with the benefit of sound stages, the Kingdom is well-positioned to house and host domestic and international productions of any size.' Jordan has long been a favored destination for filmmakers, with its unique mix of ancient heritage sites and dramatic desert backdrops. Major Hollywood productions such as Dune, The Martian, Star Wars: Episode IX, and Aladdin have all filmed in the country, capitalizing on its cinematic landscapes like Petra and Wadi Rum. Despite a recent dip in international filming interest due to regional instability following the events of October 7, 2023, Jordan's film industry is actively working to regain momentum. James Foley, ‘Glengarry Glen Ross' director, dies at 71
Ammon News - American James Foley, a journeyman director best known for 'Glengarry Glen Ross,' has died. He was 71. He died earlier this week after a yearlong battle with brain cancer, his representative, Taylor Lomax, said Friday. In his long and varied career, Foley directed Madonna music videos, 12 episodes of 'House of Cards' and the two 'Fifty Shades of Grey' sequels, but it was his 1992 adaptation of David Mamet's foulmouthed Pulitzer Prize winning play that stood above the rest. Although it wasn't a hit at the time, 'Glengarry Glen Ross' wormed its way into the culture and grew into an oft-quoted cult favorite, especially Alec Baldwin's made-for-the-film 'always be closing' monologue. Born on Dec. 28, 1953, in Brooklyn, Foley studied film in graduate school at the University of Southern California. Legend has it that Hal Ashby once wandered into a film school party where his short happened to be playing at the time and he took a liking to him. Foley would later attribute his ability to make his first feature, 'Reckless,' a 1984 romantic drama about mismatched teenagers in love starring Daryl Hannah, Aidan Quinn and Adam Baldwin, to the Ashby stamp of approval.
