William praises rangers who protect ‘awe-inspiring' rhinos

He praises the work of rangers in South Africa's Kruger National Park for their dedication, care and courage.
The work of rangers protecting rhinos is explored in the six-part docuseries created by The Royal Foundation's United for Wildlife programme (The Royal Foundation/Zandland/PA)
The 10-minute film shows teams including head ranger Cathy Dreyer working day and night to curb the threat of poaching, with caregivers Felicia and Lucas helping to raise orphaned rhino calves left behind.
William says: 'Around the world rangers work steadily on the front lines of conservation.
'In South Africa's iconic Kruger National Park and surrounding areas, rangers are confronting a devastating rhino poaching crisis that threatens the survival of this awe-inspiring species.
'Amongst the teams are unsung heroes like Cathy, Felicia and Lucas – guardians who are not only taking on poachers, but also caring for the baby orphaned rhinos they leave behind.
William meeting a five-year-old black rhino called Zawadi at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park in Port Lympne in 2012 (Chris Jackson/PA)
'Their stories show hope can prevail through dedication, care and courage, even in the face of enormous challenges.'
With just over 2,000 white and only around 250 black rhinos left in the Kruger National Park, it is feared the poaching crisis will lead to the extinction of the species in the next few decades if left unchallenged.
The Guardians series, created by The Royal Foundation's United for Wildlife programme, is available to watch on BBC Earth's YouTube and social channels, with episodes also be screened at Adventure Cinema locations across the UK.

DJ AG drops Misfits boxing hint after Derek Chisora meeting

DJ AG - also known as Ashley Gordon - has made a name for himself in the world of TikTok, but it seems as if he is open to a move to boxing Social media and TikTok sensation DJ AG has hinted at a potential move to the Misfits boxing ring ‌ DJ AG - also known as Ashley Gordon - can often be heard before he is seen, playing music from his decks in the middle of the street in London. The rather bizarre set up has landed Gordon more than a million followers on TikTok and the honour of being named Time Out's Londoner of the Year. ‌ He tends to invite people off the street to perform with him and has even handed the microphone to stars like Idris Elba, Skepta, Jorja Smith, JME and Will Smith. Despite building up quite the following on social media, it seems as if he is eager for a change in profession. ‌ Gordon recently teamed up with heavyweight veteran Derek Chisora and was seen enjoying himself in the ring before stating he was ready for Misfits. Over the past few years, the famous boxing promotion has signed several big names in the world of social media. In a recent story uploaded to Chisora's Instagram, both he and AG were heading down a stairway to the ring. A starstruck Gordon said: "Oi, that ring looks sick! That ring looks cold!" AG then turned to Chisora and uttered: "I know you have got boxing rings, bro!" An energetic Chisora then initiated mind games with the social media star, downplaying a potential sparring session, stating: "I know you do not want the smoke, bro!" AG then dropped a major bombshell, saying: "I am ready for Misfits!" Before Gordon entered the ring, he envisioned himself being introduced to the ring, saying: "Introducing, DJ AG! And the crowd go rah!" Gordon can be seen spending the rest of the video doing some sharp movements as well as some brief shadow-boxing. Despite making a name for himself in the world of TikTok, things were not so easy when he first started. 'I had eggs thrown at me, water thrown at me, I was heckled, it was tough. But I think that's because people didn't understand what I was doing, they thought it was a joke,' he told The Mirror at TikTok Live Fest. This didn't stop Gordon, however. He added: 'I'm quite fearless and I think a lot of that comes from working in sales which is quite a tough environment and coming from Tottenham which is tough as well, so how bad could it be being outside.' It was his children who suggested he try out TikTok in 2022, but the now-39-year-old said it was an app for kids and 'they don't want to listen to what I've got to say'. He continued: 'But I tried it one day and realised there were people my age on TikTok and the rest is history'. He was particularly inspired by DJ SUAT, the roaming YouTube performer. Gordon admitted that if the gamble did not pay off, he would have gone back to his day job. Fortunately, he has not had to go back to a traditional job and has now performed with a range of stars on the street. Idris Elba, he said, was an 'amazing man'. He added: 'For someone that has achieved so much in his life and given so much to still be so humble, so down to earth, having that willingness to help. It's great to meet people that are like that.'

Who is golf YouTuber Rick Shiels?

RICK Shiels is a social media icon of the golfing world, with nearly 3 million fans around the globe. He has gained popularity through his informative golf equipment reviews and video tutorials. In June 2019, Rick Shiels Golf became the largest golf-themed channel on YouTube when it surpassed half a million subscribers. Rick used his platform to raise £15,000 for Prostate Cancer UK that year, hosting the first YouTube Golf Day. His videos have featured a number of celebrities, including pop star Robbie Williams and former World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall. Alongside his main channel, Rick also hosts his own podcast with more than 250k subscribers on YouTube. "We've done 304 completed near-perfect episodes," said Rick in one of his recent episodes of The Rick Shiels Golf Show, as he announced a renewal of the series. Is Rick Shiels a professional golfer? Born and raised in Bolton, Rick began playing golf at Hart Common Golf Club in Westhoughton at the age of 11. Ten years later, he started working at Mere Golf and Country Club in Cheshire, after completing his training with the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) and becoming a qualified pro. He earned a diploma in golf studies at Myerscough College, where he studied alongside fellow YouTuber Peter Finch. He initially launched his YouTube channel in 2011 as a way to attract more clients for lessons after he moved to the Trafford Golf Centre in Manchester. As he has gained visibility in the field, he has partnered with major brands like Nike, Garmin, Mastercard, Lyle & Scott, and ECCO for content and apparel collaborations. During the 2025 Masters in April, Rick took to social media with a snap of the menu from the Women's Amateur staged at Augusta National. 3 Who is Rick Shiels' wife Claire? Since 2013, Rick has been married to his wife Claire, whom he called "bloody fantastic" in his anniversary Facebook post. He met her when he was 37, and their romance has been "incredible ever since", he said. They were recently spotted in the crowd at an Oasis concert in Manchester together. Their three children have also "fallen in love with golf", as Rick revealed on his Instagram post from the AIG Women's Open this year. "They have come away from the experience with an excitement about their own golf journeys," he said. "Getting to spend time watching some of the world best including Charley Hull and Nelly Korda has really inspired them." 3 Recently celebrating his 39th birthday, Rick has shared his experience with giving up alcohol a year ago. "Honestly, I feel much better for it. More energy, more focus, better sleep. And I'd like to think it's even helped my golf game a bit too," he said. "This isn't me telling anyone what to do. It's just something that's worked for me, and I wanted to mark the moment. One year alcohol-free, and who knows where this journey takes me."
