'Perfect' ingredient to help weight loss by naturally suppressing your appetite

Daily Record27-04-2025
Snacking between meals - from a biscuit with your 11am cuppa, to a chocolate bar during the 4pm slump - is pretty standard. But it can spiral out of control and spoil your appetite for proper meals.
However, curbing those cravings can be a challenge. Enter Feel Pro Metabolic, new sachets designed to help - and there's currently a 20% off introductory offer with the discount code BOLIC20.
Feel Pro Metabolic costs £39.96 (though this is the subscription price) for 30 sachets, or £51.96 for a one-off purchase with the discount. The concept is simple: add one sachet to a glass of water and drink it before a meal, once a day.
Feel suggests taking the sachets consecutively for at least 12-weeks to see results, with the best outcomes seen after 24 weeks. Packed with prebiotic fibres, probiotics, polyphenols and soy peptides, Feel claims the sachets aim to stimulate the body's GLP-1 secretion - a satiety hormone that essentially tells your body it's full - to assist with portion control and gradually reduce the urge to snack, reports the Mirror.
One study "aimed to analyse the effectiveness of the GLP-1 Formula (product name: Slim8D No.2) in reducing body weight and exploring its potential as a treatment for obesity."
It observed that "the increase in GLP-1 in the body naturally suppresses appetite, thereby achieving weight loss" and found that the GLP-1 Formula product tested "demonstrated promise in reducing body weight and may serve as an effective alternative therapy for treating obesity."
The Pro Metabolic sachets are packed with ingredients such as kombucha black tea extract, which one study suggests means that "black tea polyphenols have excellent anti-obesity activity without apparent side effects" and they're also rich in probiotics.
A review of six studies on probiotics and obesity argued "the studies didn't all reach the same conclusions about how probiotics affect weight. In 67% of the studies, participants who took probiotics had lower body weight and body mass index (BMI). In 80% of the studies, people who took probiotics had a reduction in waist circumference."
Boris Hodakel, the creator of Feel, shared his excitement about their new product: "We are very excited to launch the long-awaited Feel Pro Metabolic - smart appetite control which naturally supports hunger to make you feel full for longer. By curbing cravings naturally, it reduces hunger signals, making it easier to eat intuitively, without harsh and extreme diets or stimulants - working with your body, not against it."
For those who prefer not to subscribe, Boots Pharmaceuticals offers Appetite Control, a pack of 60 capsules priced at £17.50. These capsules contain a unique fibre complex that helps keep you feeling fuller for longer.
Holland and Barrett also offers an alternative in the form of Apple Cider Vinegar 250mg with the Mother Apple Flavour 60 Gummies, which can be found in their online appetite supplement section. Not only do these gummies have a pleasant apple flavour, but they are also packed with beneficial bacteria that support digestive health.
One satisfied customer of Feel shared their experience: "We have been using the Pro Metabolic for a couple of weeks and I've noticed changes already! Not only do I feel like I am a lot less bloated, but I can genuinely feel that my digestion has improved. I have found that my tendency to snack has definitely lessened as well, but more importantly, this doesn't make your stomach feel upset or achy. It's a brilliant product, which I would definitely have again! Absolute game changer especially for those of us that don't want to take something like synthetic GLP-1!".
Another customer expressed their delight with Feel's product: "I was searching for a natural way to manage my appetite and maintain my weight loss, and this product has been perfect. No complicated preparations, just easy-to-use sachets. Within weeks, I've noticed my hunger levels are more controlled and I haven't got that need to snack any longer."

Not every review was glowing, as one customer shared their thoughts saying: "Love the selection of products available and that they are all free from animal cruelty. I wish they'd stay clear of artificial sweeteners - that's my only criticism. They also taste great. Looking forward to the results."
Another user, commenting on Pro Metabolic, said: "I've been using the Pro Metabolic for a little while now, and I'm already noticing the benefits. It tastes great, which is always a bonus. It's really easy to use and I can definitely feel the effects already."

Celebrity dentist warns of tooth art danger after Kim Kardashian's tooth fairy post

Celebrity dentist and star of the Real Housewives of Cheshire, Dr Hanna Kinsella, has issued a warning about using tooth art on kids and gave her top tips to key oral hygiene A celebrity dentist has laid bare concerns surrounding tooth art for kids following a recent social media post by Kim Kardashian. Taking to Instagram, Kim confided the "tooth fairy has been good to us" as she showcased her son Saint's latest tooth loss. ‌ In the post, the mum-of-four gushed over her nine-year-old child's milestone. She also shared snaps of her other kids, North, 12, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6, showing off their evolving smiles. ‌ In the images, the youngsters were seen sporting Hello Kitty and Louis Vuitton tooth gems and custom grills. It led to some followers questioning the safety of such accessories. ‌ Now, Dr Hanna Kinsella, has exclusively told the Mirror of the risks involved with the looks. The celebrity dentist and star of Real Housewives of Cheshire told us: "Although tooth jewels aren't in themselves dangerous you also need to consider that adhesive is used to apply them, which if used by an inexperienced person this could be dangerous if it was applied to the wrong area such as lips or gums by accident." She added: "Over time jewelled gems on teeth and caps may wear the enamel of the tooth away, increasing the risk of tooth decay and infection. ‌ "Also, dental jewels can affect your ability to clean teeth properly, meaning that it can be an ideal place for food and bacteria to hide, resulting in increased risk of tooth decay and cavities. "The adhesive that's used to stick the gem on can also lead to discolouration of the tooth. Also, it's concerning that they are often applied at home, resulting in a lack of regulation and guidance meaning there's more scope for things to go wrong and damage to the teeth to be done." ‌ However, Hanna, who is also the founder of Icy Bear Dental Care, admitted: "As a dentist and a mum, I think it's great when celebrities like Kim Kardashian shine a spotlight on children's health, especially something as often overlooked as teeth. "With such a wide reach, it's important that the advice being shared is accurate. Celebrity posts can help raise awareness, but they can also unintentionally cause confusion. "The key is starting healthy habits early and making sure we're protecting our children's smiles, and not just decorating them." And she gave her top tips to parents with youngsters for ideal oral care. It included making sure kids don't clean their teeth directly after eating due to the damage it could cause to tooth enamel. Instead, she recommends waiting 30 minutes. Hanna also urged parents to "start dental visits early". She said: "Book your child into the dentist as soon as they have their first teeth so that they can get to know the dentist and enjoy the process."

‘Non-greasy' sweat-resistant SPF 50 that doesn't sting eyes called perfect for runners

Sunscreen is an essential in summer, but stinging eyes can be one unwanted side effect. Luckily one of our favourite sun cream brands has just launched a new SPF that's ideal for exercising One of the most common reasons we hear why people don't enjoy wearing sunscreen in summer is that, if you're sweating or getting wet, it can run into your eye and irritate them. Luckily, we think we've found a solution that's being hailed as perfect for wearing when exercising in summer. One sun care brand has impressed the whole Mirror shopping team this year for its high-quality formulas: Ultra Violette. We all love the brand's Future Fluid SPF 50+ Superlight Mineral SKINSCREEN, but now there's a new formula out that could be set to take this top spot. Ultra Violette's new Vibrant Screen SPF50 Active Facial Skinscreen, £32, is 'a breathable, water-resistant facial SPF' in a super-lightweight, transparent, gel-like texture (so absolutely no white cast). It offers up to two hours of water-resistant sun protection, plus is marked as 'sweat-safe' – and shoppers agree. "I love 90% of UV's sunscreens and this is another addition to the love pile.," one comment on the Sephora website reads. "Lightweight and non-greasy. Perfect for summer and I also run and this feels comfy and doesn't sting my eyes." Over on Space NK, someone wrote: "Normally use Supreme Screen but this is also lovely so I would repurchase. Never had any issue with Ultra Violette like some other SPF that can sting your eyes. Would highly recommend. I tend to stock up when on offer. It's lighter than Supreme Screen but still feels hydrating and works well under make-up as well." Another person put: "I've tried a lot of the Ultra Violette sunscreens and they always give great protection, even if some of them aren't my favourites. I really like this one, it's very light in texture, but doesn't feel full of alcohol (which often irritates my skin). I have combination skin and it's hydrating without being super shiny." They do, however, go on to mention an issue they found with the packaging: "My only issue, and I might have a dodgy bottle, but the watery texture doesn't fit that well with the packaging - it squirts out unreliable and messily. I think a bottle without a pump would have been better." More facial SPFs we've been testing and loving this summer include Lancaster Sun Beauty Sensitive Skin Mineral Face Cream SPF50, currently £21.60 (our head of shopping Zoe's favourite), Bioré UV Aqua Water Essence Sunscreen SPF50, £15.99, which feels so refreshing and is great for guys too, and Garnier Ambre Solaire Over Makeup Super UV Protection Mist SPF50, currently £8.67, but top-up over make-up.

Weight loss pill that helped patients shift 12% of body mass may soon be on NHS

A weight-loss tablet, which could be a cheaper and easier alternative to jabs and has seen patients during a trial lose up to almost 2st, could soon be available on the NHS A powerful new generation of weight-loss pill that could provide hope for millions of patients is set to be considered by regulators for NHS approval. ‌ A trial found overweight people taking the medication lost up to almost 2st – or 12% of their body weight – after 18 months. The maker, US firm Lilly, said it will seek the go-ahead by regulators for the drug orforglipron. It could be a cheaper and easier alternative to weight-loss jabs, which have to be refrigerated. ‌ The daily tablet is a GLP-1 agonist, which can cut appetite. Like jabs, the pill mimics the effects of hormones that make us feel full. Lilly also makes weight-loss jab Mounjaro. It comes after the NHS warned mouth symptom could be life-shortening disease. ‌ Kenneth Custer, of Lilly, said: 'We're working to transform obesity care with a potential once-daily oral therapy that could support early intervention and long-term disease management, while offering a convenient alternative to injectable treatments. 'We are planning to submit orforglipron for regulatory review by year-end.' ‌ It will need to be approved as safe by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency before the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence decides if it is cost-effective for the NHS. The Mirror understands guidance is expected next year on whether it will be available on the health service. The study found 60% of people on the highest dose of orforglipron lost at least 10% of their body weight. While 40% of people shed at least 15% of their body weight. The study of 3,127 overweight adults also found benefits such as better cholesterol. ‌ Lilly said the safety profile of the tablet is similar to other GLP-1 drugs, with gastrointestinal issues the most common side effect. Dr Simon Cork, senior lecturer in physiology at Anglia Ruskin University, said: 'These early results on the effectiveness of orforglipron in promoting clinically significant weight loss are a positive step forward in the development of this class of drugs. 'Their effects on weight loss are not as profound as that seen in [jabs]. ‌ 'Nevertheless, that this medication is an oral form, rather than injectable, will likely be seen as more tolerable for many. Manufacturing costs are also anticipated to be significantly lower.' An estimated 1.5 million people in the UK use weight-loss medication, most privately. Mounjaro was due to be rolled out across the NHS in England from June 23 for those with the highest clinical need, but a probe found only eight of 42 NHS integrated care boards are providing it at present. Nearly half of boards say they will cap the number they treat due to lack of funding. NHS England says the plan is for jabs to bemore widely available. Figures suggest about 29% of adults are obese. Another new study has found GLP-1s may have other benefits such as improving Alzheimer's and liver disease.
