With its marketing including AI-powered features, flagship-level build, and long-term software support, the Reno 14 Pro is aimed at those seeking both aesthetics and intelligence in a phone. But does it stand up to the expectations? We tested the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant in Opal White to see how it fares in everyday usage. Here's our detailed take:

Design
The moment we unboxed the Opal White variant of the Oppo Reno 14 Pro, it immediately stood out with its clean finish and minimal aesthetic. The finish gives off a pearlescent sheen under light, adding a subtle luxury feel without being loud.
When moved under light, the rear panel looks like a flower unfurling its petals. The square rear camera island also complements the look to give it a premium-ish feeling.
We tried rotating the phone in our palms a few times to check its manoeuvrability. Despite housing a big 6200mAh battery, the phone felt relatively lightweight and manageable in hand. The flat-edge design and ergonomic contours also give a pleasant in-hand feel.
Yet, it has a tall stance and feels a little slippery when held vertically. One-handed usage without a case for people with small hands can be troublesome.
We tried keeping the phone on a flat surface and noticed a slight wobble coming from the protruding cameras. Yet, the sleek design never made it an issue while keeping it in our pockets.
At the front, the flat OLED display is protected by Oppo's custom Crystal Shield Glass. It survived days in our pockets and easily withstood accidental bumps and bruises.
The phone is noticeably sleek and offers a clean, symmetrical front with slim bezels and a centre-aligned punch-hole selfie camera. The weight of the phone also felt well distributed when we held it in landscape mode for gaming.
Oppo Reno 14 Pro Review: Flagship Features Without the Flagship Price?
Oppo has paid attention to detail with the IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, making this device one of the most dust- and water-resistant phones in its category. We even carried it out in a drizzle and during a dusty walk through Delhi's streets—the phone survived it all.
The layout follows a familiar setup: power and volume buttons on the right, USB-C port, speaker grille and a SIM tray at the bottom.
Display
The Reno 14 Pro's large 6.83-inch OLED display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth scrolling experience and sharp visuals. While watching "Dune: Part Two" on Netflix, we noticed that the colours were rich, blacks were deep, and motion was fluid—everything you'd expect from a flagship-grade screen.
We also tried some light gaming and played titles like Modern Warfare and World War 2. The screen was quite responsive while the visuals were vibrant. Watching content and playing games on this screen was a pleasant experience.
Brightness levels were sufficiently high to ensure visibility even in direct sunlight. The screen remained readable even during a midday metro ride with sunlight flooding in through the windows.
Camera
The camera has been one of the strongest points of the Reno series. Oppo has always placed this lineup just behind its flagship Find series in camera capabilities. With Reno 14 Pro, the company has maintained its tradition and offered a setup that looks quite strong on paper.
In total, the Reno 14 Pro has four 50MP cameras. A 50MP primary sensor (f/1.8), a 50MP ultra-wide sensor (f/2.0), a 50MP 3.5X periscope zoom lens and a 50MP front-facing selfie camera.
Daylight shots came out with accurate colours and decent detail. We took it for a weekend trip to Shimla and captured some vibrant greens and different moods of the mountains and skies. The primary camera also clicks decent macro shots with sharp textures on flower petals. Here are some camera samples:
The 3.5X periscope lens is one of the biggest highlights. The phone supports up to 120X digital zoom, but the clarity starts to decline after 7X. However, pictures taken at 3.5X optical zoom captured the best details. We were able to click particular houses on the mountain with decent clarity.
Meanwhile, the ultra-wide sensor handled architecture and group shots with minimal edge distortion, while the selfie camera produced balanced and well-lit results, even under mixed lighting. Overall, all the cameras were able to capture a nice dynamic range and decent depth of field.
Low-light shots also held up impressively well, with Oppo's image processing and AI working to preserve detail without introducing much noise. Night mode kicked in smartly and retained colour accuracy when we tried clicking photos of fireworks and thunderstorms.
Performance & Software
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset, the Reno 14 Pro efficiently handled multitasking, high-resolution video playback, and moderate gaming. With 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage, we experienced zero hiccups while juggling between Gmail, Chrome, YouTube Music, Instagram, Modern Warships and Google Docs while travelling.
We also tested heavier games like BGMI and Modern Warships at high graphics settings. Performance was consistent with only minor heating after longer gaming sessions. However, heat remained well-controlled throughout as the AI Dual Cooling System came into play here, dissipating heat effectively. This also shouldn't be a deal breaker, as this phone doesn't promise all the gaming chops.
The Android 15-based ColorOS 15 feels clean and responsive, with fluid animations, subtle haptics, and helpful AI features. It offers a refined, clutter-free interface with smooth multitasking and personalisation..
The UI was easy to navigate and didn't feel very complicated. Oppo has also guaranteed 5 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches, which is good enough for a device in this price range.
Features like the AI Toolbox suggested smart actions depending on context. While reading a blog, the phone recommended "AI Summary" and "AI Speak," which generated a concise summary and read the article aloud, respectively. This was very useful during our time on the treadmill.
We also used the AI Writer feature to generate email drafts and Instagram captions with just a few prompts. It offered various tones and formats, proving beneficial for both professional and casual tasks.
The AI Recording Summary worked flawlessly during a meeting. It not only transcribed a 20-minute recording in English but also summarised the main points in under 10 seconds.
Battery
The 6200mAh battery on the Oppo Reno 14 Pro was also a crucial part of the experience. Even with heavy use, which included streaming YouTube, taking photos, and switching between apps and games, the phone lasted well over a day. On lighter days, it stretched comfortably into the second day.
Using the included 80W fast charger, we were able to charge the phone from 0 to 50% in under 20 minutes. A full charge took just over 40 minutes. The phone also supports 50W wireless charging, which we tested on a compatible pad. It worked reliably and fully charged the phone in nearly an hour.

IT park invites EOI for 2nd bldg under QUAD project
T'puram: Technopark has invited expressions of interest (EOI) from qualified IT co-developers for the construction and operation of the second IT building under its integrated IT micro-township project QUAD at Technopark Phase IV (Technocity) campus at Pallippuram here. The project will integrate IT innovation, commercial vibrancy and sustainable design. It is envisioned as a live-work-play campus where IT professionals will have all facilities, including shopping amenities and residential quarters. The first IT building under QUAD project is in the bid evaluation stage. The total area for the QUAD project is around 30 acres, which is divided into four land parcels. The second IT building will cover approximately 8 lakh sq ft in around 4.50 acres, which will be leased on a long-term basis (90 years on a case-by-case basis). The IT co-developer/builder/developer will have the opportunity to get reputable IT/ITeS companies to work from the premises. Presently, around 125 companies are in line for the IT space. The bidder should be a private or a public limited company registered under the Companies Act. It should be in operation in India for at least five years. No joint venture/joint application/consortium will be accepted. It must have clocked an annual turnover of Rs 35 crore in each of the last three financial years.
