Lions LB Malcolm Rodriguez (knee) out until November
Detroit Lions linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez will not return from his knee injury until November, head coach Dan Campbell said Thursday.
"He's not going to be starting the season out," Campbell said when asked about a timetable for Rodriguez, who tore his right ACL in last year's Thanksgiving game.
"Conservatively? November. ... Yeah, that's probably the best way to say it. Probably November. Somewhere in there."
Rodriguez, 26, recorded 43 tackles and 2.0 sacks in 10 games (six starts) before sustaining the season-ending injury in Detroit's 23-20 holiday victory over the rival Chicago Bears in Week 13.
The 2022 sixth-round draft pick has tallied 151 tackles, 3.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 43 career games (24 starts) for the Lions.
Also Thursday, star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown confirmed he had offseason knee surgery but said he will be ready in time for the start of training camp.
St. Brown, 25, caught 115 passes for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns in 17 starts in 2024, making his third Pro Bowl team and second All-Pro first team.

Jets' Josh Reynolds Offers Positive Justin Fields Scouting Report
Jets' Josh Reynolds Offers Positive Justin Fields Scouting Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The winds of change have blown through 1 Jets drive this offseason as the Aaron Glenn era for the New York Jets gets underway. Advertisement With some fresh faces, including Justin Fields and former Detroit Lion Josh Reynolds, OTAs are of the utmost importance for developing chemistry, which will serve them well in the regular season. Part of Tanner Engstrand's offense, Reynolds has history with his coordinator after time in Detroit, and now he is back working as he looks to reestablish himself in the league - and he's doing it with a new quarterback in Fields. "He can throw it," Reynolds said with a smile. "He's got a beautiful ball. He's a smart quarterback, he's been picking up this offense pretty fast, and it's not easy. I'm excited to see how he continues to develop as the plays get a little easier, and it's going to be rolling." Former Steelers quarterback Justin Fields at Acrisure LeClaire-Imagn Images Things appear to be getting off to a nice start between Fields and Reynolds, which is crucial, given the current makeup of the receiver room. Advertisement It is Garrett Wilson and then the rest. Reynolds and Allen Lazard loom as the No. 2 and No. 3 weapons, although it is unknown who will land at which spot, with training camp offering the chance for either to stake their claim. As for Fields, this may be his last chance to prove to the NFL world that he can be a starting quarterback. He has a clear runway, a star receiver, a good running back tandem, and an offensive line that's one of the better units in football. And going by Reynold's words, he's off to a good start with his new team.
