Vampire Weekend is returning to their roots.
The beloved indie group — who just launched the second leg of their 'Only God Was Above Us Tour' — announced that, due to overwhelming demand, they are playing four concerts at lead singer Ezra Koenig's hometown-adjacent Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ.
These highly-anticipated concerts are set to take place Monday, Sept. 15, Tuesday, Sept. 16, Wednesday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 18 at the intimate venue, which can only fit 2,137 audience members.

As an added dose of nostalgia, Koenig's high school band, The Sophisticuffs, will open all four shows.
'Sophisticuffs was a Glen Ridge, NJ band active from roughly 1999-2002,' the band shared via Instagram.
'Ezra was a member ages 15-17 along with his good friends Wes, Steve, Dan and Andrei. They played the vast majority of their shows in Montclair, usually at Serendipity (in the Congregational Church) or at the Possible Side Effects improv events under the Clairidge Theater. They dabbled in surf, post-rock, Christmas, punk and pop music. Ezra is thrilled to reunite onstage with the band for the first time since high school. You can expect to hear [their] songs like 'Chicken Dance,' 'Hello Professor,' and 'Great Expectations.''
While it's likely Sophisticuffs will stick to a fairly strict set list, we'd expect anything but for Vampire Weekend. At their most recent shows, they've been mixing things up and ending their sets with all-over-the-map encores where they play a number of covers requested by the audience, as reported by Set List FM.

If this sounds like the freewheeling show for you, tickets are available for all four homecoming Vampire Weekend New Jersey concerts as of today.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats for any one Wellmont Theater show was $83 including fees on Vivid Seats.
Their other three shows have tickets starting anywhere from $111 to $132 including fees.
Not bad to see Vampire Weekend and The Sophisticuffs up close and personal in a much smaller venue than they typically play.

Vampire Weekend new music
On April 5, 2024, Vampire Weekend released their fifth studio album 'Only God Was Above Us.'
In the very off chance you haven't listened yet, the guys still have the goods. The precise yet ramshackle opener 'Ice Cream Piano' is a slice of piano pop heaven with pounding percussions, swirling strings and washed out guitar mixed in over Koenig's lush vocals.
From there, the goofy 'Classical' finds one groove, settles into another and becomes something entirely different. Oftentimes, 'OGWAU' is so inspired that it struggles to sit with one melody or idea for too long; this isn't a knock on the group though. The band's restlessness keeps the listener on their toes in the best way.
'Capricorn,' the third track, oscillates between twinkly piano ballad and noise rock; Koenig's soft, unassuming lyrics ('I know you're tired of trying baby, you don't have to try' is a standout) glide over lush keys until the tune hurtles into overdrive two minutes in with discordant noise-rock before bringing it back to basics.
For the remainder of the brief 47-minute runtime, Vampire Weekend continue to surprise and innovate. 'Connect' marries DIY banging on drums with synthetic autotune; 'Prep School Gangsters' takes a page out of The Beach Boys' laid-band, seaside playbook. Although each song features the same ingredients (and all sound unmistakably Vampire Weekend-ian) the end result is unique each time.
In the back half, 'The Surfer' goes a more lo-fi airy route than the five tunes that preceded it yet still features majestic swirls. 'Gen-X Cops' transitions from an out and out garage rock anthem into something a bit more precious — a hard driving, head-bopping indie anthem. Best of all though, might be the melancholy, triumphant, choir-backed 'Mary Boone.' It fits squarely into this critic's favorite genre: the heartbreaking, singalong anthem that gives you goosebumps every time you hear it.
Closing us out is the charming thumper 'Pravda' (which just might be the most perfect 'making dinner' song to ever exist) and 'Hope,' an eight-minute epic with the refrain 'I Hope You Let It Go.'

Featured pricing is subject to change. 'Tigermilk' hasn't expired yet. Nearly 30 years after the release of Belle and Sebastian's seminal debut album, Stuart Murdoch's precious vocals and exquisite arrangements sound just as fresh and urgent as they did once they hit the airwaves in 1996. Come March 2026, you can hear the critically-beloved ten-track record along with 1998's follow-up 'If You're Feeling Sinister' on the group's 30th Anniversary Tour where they'll perform 'Tigermilk' in full one night along with other B&S favorites followed by a second 'If You're Feeling Sinister' performance (featuring more classics from their back catalog) the next evening at almost all venues they hit. Advertisement That includes a pair of NYC stops. Belle and Sebastian are slated to preside over The Rooftop at Pier 17 on Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23. Diehard B&S fans that can't wait to hear 'Electronic Renaissance' and 'Like Dylan in the Movies' live can snag two-day passes here. As for what the 'classic tracks' are that will accompany the cult favorite albums on nights one and two, we don't have any insider information but would guess 'The Boy With The Arab Strap,' 'Another Sunny Day,' 'Lazy Line Painter Jane' and 'Every Day's A Lesson in Humility' make the cut based on past set lists. And, no promises but our fingers are crossed they rock 'Piazza, New York Catcher' in the Big Apple. Advertisement 'The high-energy set saw the band in good form, with frontman Stuart Murdoch bouncing (sometimes literally) between keyboard, guitar, and tambourine,' Concert Addicts wrote in a glowing review of a May 2024 concert. 'Overall, it was a fun show which served as a reminder of why the band has had so much longevity.' Fans The Herbaceous Border can purchase tickets for all upcoming North American Belle and Sebastian shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the 30th Anniversary Tour is Friday, Aug. 22. Using that as a jumping-off point, the hyper-literate Scotsman wrote 'Nobody's Empire,' which tells the story of Stephen with 'graceful notes, melancholic chords, and witty, thoughtful riffs on life's infinite possibilities and curiosities,' according to Amazon. If you'd like to read the book that the Minnesota Star Tribune claims 'dazzles with indie charm,' click here. Stream 'God Help The Girl' In 2014, Murdoch released his debut film, the romantic musical drama 'God Help The Girl' starring Emily Browning and Olly Alexander. 'One of my top indie gems of the year, charming, enchanting, fun and fancy-free, 'God Help The Girl' is a divine intervention,' Behind The Lens raved about the stylish coming-of-age feature. Featured pricing is subject to change. Backstreet's back to manageable ticket prices, alright. After hovering over $570 per seat for Backstreet Boys' last three August 'Into The Millennium' Las Vegas Sphere residency concerts earlier this week — as reported by The Post here — ticket prices have dropped precipitously. At the time of publication, our team found some seats for their Aug. 22-24 concerts going for as low as $401.75 including fees on Vivid Seats. Advertisement Their two other shows have tickets starting at $407 and $434 including fees. While still pricey, that's over $170 in savings. Not bad for a time when inflation runs rampant and hikes up costs in nearly every sector of American life. Also, if you haven't heard about the 'Into The Millennium' residency, it shouldn't be understated how groundbreaking Nick, AJ, Kevin, Brian and Howie's live Sphere show is. In addition to dishing out the 'Millennium' album in full and timeless hits like 'Everybody (Backstreet's Back),' 'The Call' and 'Quit Playing Games (With My Heart),' the vocally-gifted Grammy nominees deliver a showstopping spectacle that must be seen live to be believed. Advertisement 'The visuals, all carefully married to the music, take fans on a surreal ride: from blast-off into deep space, to asteroid-surfing and dancing on alien worlds populated by giant, holographic Backstreet avatars,' Live For Live Music raved in a review of the live show. 'It's like 'Interstellar,' 'Tron,' and 'TRL' had a glitter-soaked lovechild.' Can't make it to the one-of-a-kind concert this weekend? No worries. Due to overwhelming BSB Army demand, the residency has been extended into 2026. As of now, the '90s icons have 14 more shows lined up from December through February including a New Year's Eve gig as well as a Friday the 13th show and Valentine's Day concert. How much are tickets for Chevy Chase's 2025 ‘Christmas Vacation Tour'?

Vivid Seats is the New York Post's official ticketing partner. We may receive revenue from this partnership for sharing this content and/or when you make a purchase. Featured pricing is subject to change. Chevy Chase is going on tour and you're not. Starting Nov. 20, the first person to ever utter 'Live from New York, it's Saturday night!' will return to the road for an eight-show tour celebrating his classic 1989 film 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.' And, while he won't return to the birthplace of 'SNL,' he'll get close when he visits Newark's New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Dec. 18. At all shows — except for one October gig which will be 'Fletch'-centric — the 81-year-old funnyman screens his iconic Yuletide-themed comedy and then takes part in a moderated conversation before closing the show with a lively audience Q&A. 'I've seen this movie probably almost a hundred times, but watching the movie with the crowd participation made it extra special,' a fan shared on Facebook. The laughs, the clapping, people saying all the famous lines made it so much more fun than me sitting at home. When we see Cousin Eddie the first time on the lawn everyone started clapping and laughing it was truly magical!' They added 'when Chevy and his wife came out he did a little dance and everyone around me stood up and gave him a standing ovation! The Conversation part of this was hilarious!!! He did an absolute amazing job considering he is over 81 years old. Did he forget something…..yes, did his wife have to remind him of a memory….absolutely she did, however he was super funny and still as quick witted as any other 80+ year old men I know!!!!' If you'd like to see the wisecracking silver screen icon IRL, tickets are available for all nine upcoming shows (that includes the 'Fletch' screening). At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets for any one Chevy show was $71 including fees on Vivid Seats. Other screenings/Q&As start anywhere from $73 to $206 including fees. For more information, our team has everything you need to know and more about Chevy Chase's 2025 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Tour' below. Here's how you can stream all five (!) 'National Lampoon's Vacation' films today. Chevy Chase controversy Over the years, Chase has stirred up trouble with his comedic collaborators. As you may recall, way back in 1978, he engaged in fisticuffs with fellow 'SNL' cast member Bill Murray backstage in John Belushi's dressing room. Decades later, Chase was banned from hosting 'Saturday Night Live' after a number of incidents where he derided 'Not Ready For Primetime Players and writers with homophobic and sexist slurs; he also reportedly slapped Cheri Oteri in the back of the head. This century, the now 81-year-old comic starred in NBC's 'Community' until the fourth season when Dan Harmon and co. cut him loose. Chase allegedly verbally abused Donald Glover with a barrage of racist insults and slurs which led to the firing. Comedians on tour in 2025 Chevy not headed to a city near you?
