Everything We Know About Drake's ‘Iceman' Album

Yahoo10-07-2025
Like many years of the past, Drake is looking to make the summer his once again. The 6 God returned on July 4 with the cinematic livestream premiere of his introspective 'What Did I Miss' single, which essentially served as the kick-off to his highly anticipated Iceman album.

Drake addresses heartbreak and those who have betrayed him in the last year since the explosive battle that took rap by storm with Kendrick Lamar. 'It's love for my brothers and death to a traitor, let's go,' he raps.
'What Did I Miss' hit streaming services on July 5 and topped Spotify's Daily Top Songs USA chart for two consecutive days (July 5-6).
Even nearly two decades in and after all of the accolades, it feels like another pivotal point in Drake's career once again with his first solo LP on the horizon since clashing with Lamar in 2024. He'll look to make another statement setting off the summer when he headlines Wireless Fest 2025 in the U.K. for all three nights this weekend.
The Friday night (July 4) livestream that accompanied 'What Did I Miss' found Drake also driving through Toronto while tailing the Iceman Toronto-based ice company truck. He scolded a hater and previewed another unreleased track that's tentatively titled 'Supermax.'
When Iceman does inevitably arrive, Drake will more than likely break a tie with Jay-Z and Taylor Swift for the most Billboard 200 No. 1 albums of all time with his 15th chart-topper.
While there isn't plenty of information out there regarding Iceman (look for more possible streams on the way), here's everything we know so far about Drake's ninth solo studio album.
Drake hasn't put a firm release date on Iceman outside of teasing that it's 'coming soon' during Friday night's live-stream and writing 'Iceman 2025″ while leaving an autograph. It doesn't appear as if the project will arrive in time for Drizzy's three nights of headlining at Wireless Festival 2025 this weekend.
However, Drake will be staying in the U.K. as he kicks off his $ome $pecial $hows 4 U European tour run with PARTYNEXTDOOR on July 20. There's a break for the first week of August, which is when Drake has traditionally hosted OVO Fest over the years, so that's another possible key date to keep an eye on.
If Iceman still hasn't been defrosted by the end of Drake's tour with PND, all eyes will go toward October. After all, he is October's Very Own. After releasing $ome $exy $ongs 4 U in February, which generated long-lasting hits like 'Nokia' and 'Somebody Loves Me,' there probably isn't too much urgency from Drake's side.
Drake has been dropping subtle hints about Iceman for months. He's posted photos to IG of his icy jewelry, NBA legend George Gervin, UFC fighter Chuck Liddell, who are both nicknamed the Iceman, and Canada's snowy winters.
Of course, Iceman is a Marvel superhero and a founding member of the X-Men. Comic book writer Mike Carey described the Iceman as 'devastatingly honest. He is very up-front with his emotions and his thoughts all the time.' Perhaps this is another alter-ego in the Drake matrix.
Drizzy aligned with the Toronto commercial ice packaging company of the same name, which saw him tailing an Iceman promo truck while driving throughout the 6 on Friday night, and he donned Iceman merchandise during the live-stream at the company's warehouse.
'During the actual live-stream, it was pretty crazy… People from all over North America started calling us,' Iceman's Jake Silva told CP24. 'My father's phone started blowing up from a lot of our customers.'
'What Did I Miss' arrived as part of Friday's livestream and then landed on streaming services hours later at midnight on Saturday (July 5). The menacing tune finds Drake examining themes of betrayal while also still passive-aggressively flexing on the competition.
The track is littered with subliminals. Some believe there's jabs at Rick Ross and The Weeknd. At one point, he appears to take a shot at either NBA star LeBron James or DeMar DeRozan, who both showed support for Kendrick Lamar when making appearances at K. Dot's Pop Out show. 'I saw bro went to Pop Out with them, but been d—k riding gang since 'Headlines,'' he raps about a friend-turned-adversary.
Drizzy uses a mid-beat switch like a valve relieving pressure to change the temperature of 'What Did I Miss.' He enlists a phalanx of producers behind the boards, including frequent collaborators Tay Keith and OZ along with FNZ, DJ Lewis, Patron, Elyas, GYZ, London Cyr and O Lil Angel.
'What Did I Miss' seemingly builds on the themes Drake previously employed on the Conductor Williams-produced 'Fighting Irish Freestyle,' which was quickly scrubbed from YouTube in January and never appeared on DSPs.
In the midst of cruising around Toronto during the innovative live-stream, Drake gave fans an assumed preview of the album when playing an unreleased track that's tentatively titled 'Supermax.' Drizzy looks inward and vulnerably opens up about fractured relationships and keeping his focus. 'It's still heartbreak Drake, but I glued it together,' he raps.
At one point, the 6 God reveals he had a conversation with TNT sideline reporter Taylor Rooks about how heavy the crown can be. 'Losin' all these friends really got to me/ I was talking to Taylor over drinks, and it was getting deep/ 'Not everyone can handle this pressure and, in thе city, you're the national treasurе,' that's what she said to me,' he ruminates.
Rooks reposted the clip to her Instagram Story, seemingly confirming she's the Taylor Drake is referencing on the track.
There's been speculation on social media that Drake is freeing himself from his industry ties and going at Iceman as a one-man band. With plenty of Drizzy's former collaborators turning on him during the Kendrick feud, it could make sense for Drake to attack his next album as the lone star of the show.
However, if he does decide to go the feature route — it would be the first time in his solo career that he didn't — fans can possibly expect 21 Savage to make an appearance. Drake showed love to 21 for always having his back on 'Gimme a Hug,' and the Atlanta rapper reposted Drake's latest single.

DJ Swamp Izzo also previewed an unreleased Playboi Carti and Drake collaboration during a tour after-party. According to DJ Akademiks, he relayed that Drake told him the track was supposed to appear on For All the Dogs, but never made the cut. We'll see if it remains shelved.
As far as the production side, frequent collaborators OZ and Tay Keith were involved with 'What Did I Miss.' Conductor Williams has established a rapport with Drake and could supply some heat on the album. Of course, when it's a Drake project, you can assume his right-hand, Noah '40' Shebib, will play a significant role. Don't count out Boi-1da either.
Drake's been known to make questionable choices for his album covers, but the blue Drake ice sculpture that's currently going viral on social media hasn't been verified by the 6 God himself. So don't fall for anything just yet when it comes to Iceman artwork.

Music legends gather in UK for Ozzy Osbourne's private funeral

Ozzy Osbourne has been laid to rest in Buckinghamshire, England, one week after his death. The Prince of Darkness' family members and loved ones mourned him in a private funeral at his and Sharon Osbourne's sprawling home on Thursday. Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Slipknot's Corey Taylor and more rockers attended the somber affair. Ozzy's final resting place is on his property beside a lake, according to the Daily Mail, where a massive floral tribute was erected on the grounds in his honor. Notably, the late musician wrote in 'I Am Ozzy,' his 2009 autobiography, that he did not wish to be cremated. Instead, he clarified, 'I want to be put in the ground in a nice garden somewhere with a tree planted over my head.' Ozzy died on July 22 at age 76 after paramedics reportedly spent hours trying to save him. He is survived by wife Sharon Osbourne, their three kids — Aimee Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne and Jack Osbourne — and children Elliot Kingsley, Jessica Osbourne and Louis Osbourne from his previous marriage to Thelma Riley. The musician shared his wishes for his funeral in a Times column published more than a decade before his death. The singer didn't want any guests to be 'harping on the bad times' at his service, insisting it should be a 'celebration' instead of a 'mope-fest.' He said, 'I'd … like some pranks: maybe the sound of knocking inside the coffin; or a video of me asking my doctor for a second opinion on his diagnosis of 'death.'' The Grammy winner noted, 'I honestly don't care what they play at my funeral; they can put on a medley of Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle and We Are the Diddymen if it makes 'em happy.' Osbourne was honored in his United Kingdom hometown on Wednesday with a public procession down Birmingham's Broad Street. His family members, who followed behind in vehicles and stepped out for an emotional appearance, paid for the homage. 'We are grateful that they have generously offered to pay to enable this to happen and support the city is giving him the farewell he deserves,' the city's lord mayor, Zafar Iqbal, gushed Tuesday. He noted that the 'fitting, dignified tribute' will 'mean [so much] to [Black Sabbath] fans.' The band's surviving members have each honored their late 'brother' with touching social media tributes. Osbourne played a farewell show with Bill Ward, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler, and we heard he spent his final days 're-energized' by the performance. 'It filled him with life,' a source told Page Six. 'He'd really been slowing down, and then after the show he was really back to be being himself. It's a beautiful ending.'

A Complete Breakdown Of The 'Downton Abbey' Family Tree Before The Grand Finale

Downton Abbey has a fascinating ensemble of characters that has captivated audiences worldwide since its original debut in 2010. Now, a whopping 15 years later, the series's showrunners have announced a third and final movie, set to be released in theaters (yes, it's a theatrical release!) on September 12th, 2025. But before that date, let's recap on the characters so you're fully prepared for The Grand Finale. Grab your tiaras, teas, and elbow-length gloves, because we're about to head back to high society England. Elbows down, pinkies up, folks! Here's a full breakdown of the Crawley family tree for Downton Abbey fans. Violet Crawley — Family Matriarch Violet Crawley, played brilliantly by the late Dame Maggie Smith, is the matriarch of the Crawley family and plays a significant role in determining the future heir to the family's estate. Following the tragic death of her son and intended heir, Violet must decide on a new leader for the family. Which leads us to… Robert Crawley — Family Patriarch Violet's living son, Robert Crawley, is the patriarch of the family and Earl of Grantham. He is a serious and loyal traditionalist who will do just about anything to keep the family afloat. In fact, he's so dedicated to Downton Abbey that it consumes his entire existence. 'I was born here, and I hope to die here,' Robert announces in the series. 'I claim no career but the nurture of this house and the estate. It is my third parent and my fourth child.' Now that's some serious commitment! Cora Levinson — Robert Crawley's Wife Cora Levinson is Robert Crawley's American heiress wife, whom he initially married for financial reasons. Yet as the series progresses, Robert has fallen madly in love with Cora, who becomes a central figure on the show. She is also the mother of three daughters and refuses to let anything stand in the way of their safety and well-being. Cora serves as a warm contrast to her husband's more cold, British demeanor. Patrick 'Crawley' — Alleged Crawley Family Heir The Crawley family lost two central members in season 1: Patrick and James. James, Robert's first cousin, was initially set to be the family heir, yet he passed away due to tragic circumstances. Meanwhile, Patrick was killed while aboard the Titanic sinking in 1912, yet a man shows up to their manor claiming he's really Patrick Crawley and has been alive this whole time, trying to find them. This turns out to be a sham, much to the family's dismay. Matthew Crawley — The Crawley Family Heir So the true heir of Downton is Matthew, a distant cousin who ends up falling madly in love with Mary. Unfortunately Matthew passes away in a car accident, once again leaving Downton's future up in the air. Lady Mary — Proud Eldest Daughter Robert and Cora's daughter, Mary, plays a major role in the upcoming Downton Abbey movie — and in the whole series. The eldest Crawley daughter is 'the future of Downton Abbey' as per the film's trailer. Go Mary! Is she up for the task? Mary married Matthew before his untimely accident, then remarried to Henry Talbot. The pair has since divorced. Lady Edith — The second daughter Robert and Cora's second daughter, Edith, always felt overshadowed by Mary. After falling in love with her boss Micheal Gregson (who disappeared shortly after), Edith became pregnant with his child. She married Bertie in 1925. Lady Sybil — The rebel Sybil was Robert and Cora's youngest daughter. She became politically involved as a young woman, and ended up marrying Tom Branson (who was the family's chauffeur) but passed away from eclampsia after giving birth to their daughter Sybbie. Tom Branson — Unexpected Family Pillar Robert was decidedly not thrilled when Sybil and Tom announced their engagement, but Tom really became an irreplaceable member of the Crawley family. He always pursues what's right (and helps mediate arguments between Mary and Edith). Isobel Grey — A Friendly Face Matthew's mother Isobel is a bright spot in the Downton Abbey cast, even though she isn't officially a Crawley. She was also quite the match for Violet's wit! Rosamund Painswick — The Fun Aunt Every family needs a cool and chic aunt, and Robert's sister Rosamund is the Crawleys'! George, Sybbie, Marigold, Peter & Caroline — The Future of Downton Abbey The next generation of the Crawley family (Mary's children George and Caroline, Sybil's daughter Sybbie, and Edith's children Peter and Marigold) have quite the inheritance, which they're expected to inherit when they come of age in the 1940s.
