Owner Ahmet has confirmed the decision to keep the restaurant's name as this is what locals and tourists have come to know. The venue was previously known as the Wynnstay Inn.

The venue, situated on Dumbarton Road in Partick, was inspired by the Spanish island of Majorca. Founders Fergus McCoss and Ness Achilles previously revealed that they were inspired by a trip to Palma, where coffee shops turn into cocktail bars in the evening. So they decided to create the concept bar with a relaxed after-hours atmosphere in Glasgow. And it was loved so much by visitors that it was dubbed the "best cocktail bar in Glasgow". The bar was the result of a collaboration between the team behind Hinba Coffee Roasters and restaurant Eighty Eight, which is located next door. It's the end of an era for Eighty Six! The reason for the closure is currently unclear, but bosses have called it the "end of an era" for the whole team. Viktor Gyokeres rejects £11m contract offer as agent sends Arsenal message

Viktor Gyokeres has rejected a transfer to Juventus with the striker's agent informing the Serie A club that Arsenal are the first-choice destination, according to reports in Italy. Last week, Arsenal's sporting director, Andrea Berta, met with his counterpart at Sporting CP, Bernardo Palmeiro, in Menorca to discuss a deal for Gyokeres. However, Arsenal's initial proposal worth an €55m (£46.8m) plus a further €10m (£8.5m) in add-ons was rejected. Juventus are also in the market for a new striker and have made an approach to Gyokeres' agent this month. It's understood that Juventus indicated to Gyokeres' representative that they are willing to offer the striker a five-year contract worth €13m (£11m) a year before taxes. Juventus were also ready to submit a bid to Sporting for Gyokeres which was worth in excess of £60m with add-ons factored in. However, Corriere dello Sport reported on Wednesday that Juventus are now out of the running to sign Gyokeres as the striker's agent has made it clear to the Italian club's general manager, Damien Comolli, that a move to Arsenal is the priority. Gyokeres has also rejected an approach from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal this month. More Trending The 27-year-old has a €100m (£85.1m) release clause in his contract but Sporting have been willing to sell the Sweden international for lower than that amount. However, Sporting have been angered by suggestions that a set transfer fee had been agreed ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Portuguese club's president, Frederico Varandas, criticising the striker's agent last week. During his negotiations to bring Gyokeres to Sporting in a £20m deal from Coventry City two years ago, the striker's agent, Hasan Cetinkaya secured an exclusive sales mandate which means that the Portuguese champions will have to pay the agent 10 per cent of the value of any rejected offer above €60m (£51m). However, it is understood that if Cetinkaya decides to activate that mandate this summer, Sporting will respond by demanding that Gyokeres' €100m (£85.1m) release clause is met. Mike Lynch's tragic superyacht to be finally raised from Sicily seabed this weekend

A British superyacht, which tragically sank off Sicily last August claiming seven lives, including that of UK tech magnate Mike Lynch, is scheduled to be recovered from the seabed this weekend. The vessel, a British-flagged superyacht, has been submerged since the incident. The complex salvage operation saw a significant breakthrough with the removal of the yacht's 72-meter (236-foot) mast. This crucial step allowed the hull to be brought to a nearly upright position, accelerating the overall recovery schedule by approximately a week. The mast itself has been left on the seabed for future retrieval. TMC Marine, the salvage company overseeing the operation, confirmed that the vessel is set to be lifted from a depth of 50 meters (164 feet) by a powerful maritime floating crane barge on Saturday, weather permitting. The superyacht is then expected to be brought to port by Monday. Lifting the 56-meter (184-foot) Bayesian requires the installation of eight main steel lifting straps, along with four previously installed, the company said. During the recent operations, salvage crews removed a life raft and deck furniture, which were brought to the port. TMC has previously recovered suspected debris from the seabed using a remote-controlled submersible. Marine salvage experts began the operation in early May to recover the superyacht, but the operation was temporarily halted after a diver's death a few days later. A new recovery plan was approved last week. British investigators in an interim report issued last month said that the yacht was knocked over by 'extreme wind' and couldn't recover. The report stated that the Bayesian had chosen the site where it sank as shelter from forecast thunderstorms. Wind speeds exceeded 70 knots (81 mph.) at the time of the sinking at 4:06 a.m. on Aug. 19 and 'violently' knocked the vessel over to a 90-degree angle in under 15 seconds. Italian authorities are conducting a full criminal investigation. Billionaire entrepreneur Lynch, 59, and his daughter Hannah, 18, were among the dead when the Bayesian sank. Fifteen people survived. The boat trip was a celebration of Lynch's acquittal in a fraud case in the U.S. in June. Fifteen people survived the accident.
