Lennon Miller can be a Euro star like Scott McTominay, says Motherwell defender
Stephen O'Donnell reckons Miller can play at the highest level
Motherwell vice-captain Stephen O'Donnell says Lennon Miller can be a top star in Europe – but would be delighted to see him remain at Fir Park next season.
Right-back O'Donnell has watched Scots like Scott McTominay and Lewis Ferguson tear it up in Italy, and has no doubt that Miller could follow in those footsteps.
The 18-year-old is expected to be in high demand this summer, with the Fir Park club anticipating a huge fee, and O'Donnell reckons his team-mate could become a superstar.
He said: 'No-one would have said Scott McTominay would become such a talisman for Napoli, but what I would say is that some players have surprised me by going and doing so well, others haven't.
'I don't think Lennon would surprise me if he went and did well anywhere.
'I think he has a temperament, a natural ability, and if a team wants to get on the ball, I don't think there will be many better players at his age around the world at getting on the ball and trying to create stuff from deeper positions.
'I am excited to see what the future holds for him. If it's not Motherwell, I wouldn't be surprised if he went away abroad and kicked on to another level.
'Lennon is a character, he's professional, he's always fit, though he had a wee blip through the season.
'He's always training and training well, and his ability is there for everyone to see, winning the sports writers and the Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year awards.
'He's a talent, and one that we're lucky to have. If he goes, he goes with everyone's blessing, and I just hope that his career goes in a direction that I and we all think it will go.
'He's a very talented boy, a really good guy, and a very good team-mate, which is the most important thing, and I'm sure he'll do great, wherever he goes.'
O'Donnell reckons there are others at Fir Park that could attract attention over the summer, providing a win-win situation for the club.
He said: 'There are lots of players under contract, but the ones that have done well, we can command a fee for, the likes of Callum Slattery and Lennon Miller, and you wouldn't be surprised if anyone came in for these guys, because they're very good players.
'That puts the club in a good position, and if that was to happen for one of both – or anyone – it's good for the club.
'If they're here at the start of the season, that's good for the club as well.'

‘Everyone would laugh at us' – Man Utd fans fume after ‘discovering Alejandro Garnacho's transfer price tag'
MANCHESTER UNITED winger Alejandro Garnacho is available for £40million this summer, according to reports. Garnacho, 20, was left out of the Red Devils' 2-0 win over Aston Villa on the Premier League final day, having complained about being benched for the Europa League final. 1 The Argentina international has since been told that he can leave Old Trafford, should the club's asking price be met. Amid interest from Napoli, The Guardian claim that Garnacho is set to be available for a bargain £40m. In addition to Napoli, Chelsea have also shown an interest in signing the United misfit. Fans have been left seething at the lowball price being quoted for Garnacho. One United supporter fumed on X: "If Man Utd sold Garnacho for £40m, everyone would be laughing at us." While a second pointed out: "Jhon Duran £65m, Nico Gonzalez £50m, Moussa Diaby £50m, Teun Koopmeiners £46.1m, Joao Felix £42m, Manuel Ugarte £42m, Galeno £42m. "Alejandro Garnacho is 20 years old, has 38 G/A in the last two seasons & is contracted until 2028 - he should cost more than £40m." A third reasonably commented: "Imagine how much United would be quoted for an Argentina international of his standing. Considerably more than £40m." And another added: "That's too ridiculous an amount, what kind of negotiation is that?" After being dropped against Aston Villa, Garnacho jetted to Asia with his team-mates for United's controversial post-season tour. Ruben Amorim bursts out laughing when asked about Man Utd star's future During the trip, the wide man looked uninterested during an autograph session with fans. Garnacho was then filmed getting into an altercation with a fan. Later in the week, Amad Diallo was asked about whether Garnacho could stay at Old Trafford beyond this summer. Boss Ruben Amorim struggled to stifle laughter as the journalist delivered their question. Diallo diplomatically responded: "Alejandro is a really good player and we need good players in the team. "I know Garna really well, so I hope to have Garna next season. "It is not really a big issue for the team. Everything is good now." Garnacho has played 144 times for United - scoring 26 goals and laying on 22 assists.

Simone Inzaghi coy over Inter future after latest Champions League heartbreak
Inzaghi watched Inter get destroyed in Saturday's showpiece in Munich as Paris St Germain ran riot to inflict a 5-0 defeat. Inter were on course for the treble in April, but a Coppa Italia semi-final exit was followed by being pipped to the Serie A title by Napoli and their last chance of silverware evaporated at Allianz Arena in a final where the build-up had seen Inzaghi heavily linked with a move to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal. Asked if he would manage Inter at the Club World Cup in America, which begins in two weeks, Inzaghi said: 'As I was saying before to your colleague, I cannot answer this question now. I came here out of respect for you, for politeness because I am hurting from a sporting point of view. 'It's not the right time to talk about the future. We are extremely disappointed and since July of last year we've played 58 or 59 games, we got to this final match, so it's awkward to talk about my future now. 'Again, we are extremely disappointed. We will be talking about the fact we won no silverware this year but these players deserve great credit because they gave it their very best shot and we suffered a lot of injuries. I wouldn't change these players for anyone else.' While Inzaghi would not be drawn on his future, he did back Inter to bounce back from defeat by a record margin in a European final. 'The club is strong, the club supports us, we have already signed two player for next year and we know we will have to sign some more, but the club has always supported us all the way,' Inzaghi said. 'They were with us in our victories, in our defeats, the president (Giuseppe Marotta) was there, all the top executives, again everyone is extremely disappointed, but they told me they are proud of what Inter achieved this year in these 59 matches. 'We're very sad now and clearly there were a whole lot of fans who came to support us and unfortunately as was the case two years ago we failed to win the most important match. 'We have been through this before, we have suffered heavy defeats in the past and when you lose a final it always leaves a mark, but we can get going again all together because the club is solid and always supports us.' Inter president Marotta backed Inzaghi to continue, telling the official club website: 'Our assessment of Inzaghi hasn't changed. 'As I've already said, he still has one year left on his contract and over the past four years, he's proven himself worthy of the role he holds. 'He's shown great professionalism, and one disappointing night doesn't erase all his achievements.'
