Mariah Carey is back to heat up summer with a new bop — 20 years after ‘We Belong Together'

For years, Mariah Carey has reigned as the Queen of Christmas. With that unsnatchable crown, the 56-year-old diva has seemed perfectly content to chill until defrosting herself right after Halloween to rule the holiday season with 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.' But now MC is heating up a different season — summer — with her first proper new single since her last studio album, 2018's 'Caution.' And 'Type Dangerous' — released to the delight of Lambs all over on Friday — threatens to be one of the bops of summer. Ethan James Green Yes, 20 years after Carey owned the summer of 2000 with 'We Belong Together,' she's back. It's not so hard to believe — you can never keep a good diva down. Advertisement 'Type Dangerous' marks another comeback for Carey after 'We Belong Together' — from her blockbuster album 'The Emancipation of Mimi' — put Carey back on top after a period of relative decline. Arriving just one week after the 20th anniversary edition of 'The Emancipation of Mimi,' 'Type Dangerous' sounds as if it could've been on that legendary 2005 LP. Sampling the Eric B. & Rakim classic 'Eric B. Is President,' it pays homage to Carey's history as one of the first pop artists to really embrace hip-hop and collaborate with rappers, going all the way back to Ol' Dirty Bastard on the 'Fantasy' remix. 4 Mariah Carey's new single, 'Type Dangerous,' previews her upcoming album that is being teased as 'MC16.' The lyrics might get a little silly for a certified icon in her fabulous 50s — should she really be dealing with a 'computer boy toy' who's 'on the web hacking other girls' files'? — but Carey can still pull off silly as well as sassy. (And hey, she doesn't celebrate birthdays but anniversaries, so really she's ageless.) 4 Mariah Carey recently filmed a video for her new single 'Type Dangerous.' Perhaps that jolt of joy comes from the fact that 'Type Dangerous' was co-written by Carey's rumored new beau — and Bruno Mars' partner in Silk Sonic. It sounds like mama is having a good time — and so do we. While it remains to be seen if Carey can still hold her own on the charts with the Sabrina Carpenters of the world — the 'Espresso' singer also just dropped a new summer bop, 'Manchild' — it's great to hear her sounding fierce and refreshed. And apparently there is more new music on the way from her upcoming album being teased as 'MC16.' Consider us obsessed — again.

Jodie Sweetin Reveals the Surprising 1-Word Response Her Kids Had to Her Work on 'Full House '(Exclusive)

Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber hosted iHeartRadio's How Rude, Tanneritos! Wedding Special live event on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in Los Angeles The costars chatted with PEOPLE ahead of the event, sharing how their children fit into the Full House fold The costars appeared with John Stamos and Lori Loughlin at the live event, looking back at some of the sitcom's biggest momentsJodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber's kids aren't too impressed by their Full House fame. Speaking with PEOPLE ahead of iHeartRadio's How Rude, Tanneritos! Wedding Special live event, the costars and moms talked about how their children have reacted to their sitcom stardom. When it comes to Sweetin's two daughters — Beatrix, 14, and Zoie, 17 — she confirmed they were never interested in checking out their mom's acting roots, simply calling it "weird." Barber, who is mom to Felicity, 16, and Tate, 19, said her kids also "didn't really care," "They're just normal teenagers. They don't care what their parents do," Barber tells PEOPLE. "They were like, 'It's mom. You yell at us to go clean our room.' " Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Barber recalls a time where her son's classmates figured out she was an actress and asked him about Full House. "I showed Full House to my son when he was in second grade, because he kept going to school and the kids were like, 'Your mom's [in] Full House?'" "[He told me], 'Everyone has seen Full House, but me, Mom, why?' And so I'm like, 'Here's an episode,' but that's about it." Whenever Sweetin's kids saw it, it was because, "It was probably on Nick at Nite or something. I'm sure my mom or dad, when the kids were little, was like, 'Oh, you want to watch mom on the show?' And even at two, they were probably like, 'No.'" When it came time for the cast to reunite for Fuller House, Barber said her kids "loved coming to the live tapings on Friday nights." It gave the costars' kids a chance to connect, with Barber noting how close in age Felicity and Zoie are. "Oh my god, they loved hanging out," Sweetin agrees. "They just wanted to hang out with Michael and Soni and Elias. They didn't come to see what we did." "They were hardly ever in the audience. They were down in the schoolroom. Remember the time we were doing the scene, and I literally heard Zoie yelling in the school room in the back? And I was like, 'That's my kid,' on a tape night," she laughs. During the live show, which also featured an appearance from costars John Stamos and Lori Loughlin, the group opened up about whether they had any regrets with the original series, during which they referenced the end of the series. "I wish we had gotten a proper goodbye," Barber shared. "We didn't know we weren't coming back. We did it out of order," Stamos recalled. "The episodes where Michelle gets amnesia, which was how we ended the show, that was last to air. But we shot those first, and then the last one we shot was the one with Andrew Keegan," Loughlin explained. Stamos agreed, adding, "We didn't know... I think we found out somewhere during that week or something. They kind of said, 'Okay, well...' and that wasn't a good way to go out. But thank God we got to do Fuller House." Angel Reese's Ex-Boyfriend Sends Bold Message About Flirting on Thursday

Angel Reese's Ex-Boyfriend Sends Bold Message About Flirting on Thursday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Cam'Ron Fletcher is back in the spotlight — and this time, it's not for his game. The former Florida State basketball player, best known in the sports world for his past high-profile relationship with WNBA star Angel Reese, caught attention Thursday after posting a personal Instagram Story that left people talking. Advertisement It's been almost two years since Fletcher and Reese began dating publicly in June 2023, and more than a year since Reese confirmed their split during an Instagram Live in March 2024. Though the breakup wasn't deeply explained, Reese alluded to a rough ending, saying she had 'put (her) energy into too many people that don't deserve (it).' Now, Fletcher seems to be reflecting. In a story posted to his Instagram, he shared a message that alluded to recent emotional struggles and hesitations around dating. It wasn't subtle — and for many, it felt like a window into his state of mind post-breakup. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese and Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Scuteri-Imagn Images 'I be flirting with y'all queens but my anxiety been too damn high lately to link & act like I'm fake interested,' he wrote. Advertisement Reese, meanwhile, has stayed fully focused on the court. The Chicago Sky forward is in her second WNBA season and helping her team ride a two-game win streak. With Caitlin Clark sidelined for the Indiana Fever due to a quad injury, Reese will be one of the biggest names on the floor when the two teams face off Saturday. Outside basketball, Reese is making waves with her Reebok partnership. While she doesn't yet have her own signature sneaker, that's expected to change soon. Early previews of her upcoming basketball shoe have already surfaced, with an official launch anticipated in 2026. Once it is released, Reese will join an elite group of WNBA players with a signature line — cementing her influence both on and off the court. Advertisement Whether Fletcher's message was meant to get something off his chest or say something more, one thing is clear: Angel Reese isn't looking back.
