Potential Rangers Champions League rivals in 'urgent' transfer warning
The Belgian side have a big advantage after winning the first leg 1-0 in Austria, but former Anderlecht, Gent and Genk manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck is far from impressed with Club Brugge this season so far.

Jefte, 21, joined the Ibrox side from Fluminense last summer, having been on loan at APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus. He cost Gers £800,000 and he signed a four-year contract but he now stands to leave for significantly more than the club paid for him. Rangers will bank a total fee of £6million once the deal is completed, reports the Rangers Review. That figure includes any performance related add-ons and a sell-on clause has also been incorporated. Jefte made 52 appearances for the Light Blues last season across all competitions, scoring once against Aberdeen in the Premiership. He took over as the starter at left-back from Borna Barisic and displaced Ridvan Yilmaz as the main option under Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson. New boss Russell Martin favoured Max Aarons at left-back initially but has moved him to right-back recently, with Jefte coming back in to his position on the left. The sale of Jefte will force Rangers back into the market for a left-back however, particularly given the uncertain future of Yilmaz. Nobel Mendy is on the brink of completing his move to Ibrox but the 20-year-old is primarily a centre-back who can also operate at left-back if needed, rather than a natural full-back. And he said: "I don't think we're in a position where we have to sell anyone. "I don't think we're in a position where we want to lose some of the best performers last season that we think can become really top performers for us this season and moving forward. "So yeah, that's the plan, unless someone comes in and blows our minds and everyone decides - the player, the club, everyone decides that it's the best for everyone - and then we can make sure we're in a position to replace, then we'll with someone else. And he wants Scottish cops to make the journey to the Belgian city in order to lend their local counterparts a hand. Russell Martin's men face Club Brugge in a £40million play-off with a place in the lucrative league stage of the Champions League at stake. But De4 Fauw seems concerned at the prospect of thousands of Gers fans descending on the picturesque city without tickets and wants Police Scotland to assist as Belgian officers prepare to meet them in Glasgow. De Fauw said: "The Scots will receive 1,500 tickets but we are very aware they travel in much larger numbers. "Several of our local police officers will be going to the first leg in Glasgow next week. They'll be making the necessary contacts with the local police there and asking if some of them can come with us on August 27th because they know the supporters. "That's always an advantage. "There's a regulation stating that you're not allowed near the football stadium if you don't have a valid ticket. It's better if those supporters without tickets are spread out in the city centre and not all congregate near the stadium." And the city also has an unusual problem when it comes to transporting Rangers fans to the game - they have run out of buses. The mayor explained: "It's not as simple as just organising buses. "During previous European football matches, those buses were badly damaged by supporters and now the bus companies no longer want to assist us. "So I have asked them to use their oldest buses if necessary, so the transfers can take place because it's far too labour-intensive for the police to march in a procession with 1,500 supporters to the stadium. "It's quite a trek and there's also a risk of vandalism along the way."

Rangers close to deal with Palmeiras for sale of Jefté
Rangers are close to agreeing a deal with Brazilian side Palmeiras for the permanent transfer of Jefte. The left-back moved to Ibrox from Fluminense last May for £800,000, joining previous manager Philippe Clement's rebuild. The defender moved to Glasgow after spending a season on loan with Cypriot First Division champions APOEL. He is not set to confirm his exit to the Brasileiro Série A outfit. It comes as Rangers are close to completing a deal to sign Real Betis defender Nobel Mendy. The centre-back would be the Ibrox club's tenth new signing of the summer and would strengthen head coach Russell Martin's defensive options.
