Pick up the Sonos Ray soundbar while it's on sale for $100 off

Yahoo19-03-2025

Sonos gear is back on sale right now. You can save up to 36 percent on soundbars and speakers, and the deals include a $100 off the Sonos Ray compact soundbar. It's currently available for just $179, down from $279 in either black or white. It's our runner up for best midrange soundbar. You can pick it up at Amazon or direct from Sonos at the sale price, and the discount will be available through March 24.
The Sonos Ray debuted in 2022 and garnered an 82 in our review thanks to compact, sleek design and easy setup. We also liked its bass performance and overall sound quality for either TV or music. However, it didn't create as immersive a sound as larger options, so people with a big space might want to opt for something else.
Other soundbars on sale include the Beam Gen 2, which is down to $399. Then there's our favorite midrange speaker, the Sonos Era 100. The speaker is currently down to $199 from $249 — a 20 percent discount. It offers great sound quality and has two tweeters. And if you're looking for a speaker that can come with you to your next backyard party or barbecue, both the Sonos Move 2 and the Roam 2 are included in the sale. You can grab them for $359 and $139, respectively.
Separately at Wellbots, you can pick up the new Sonos Arc Ultra for $750, which is 25 percent off its usual price of $999. Just use the code ENGSONOS25 at checkout to get the discount. This sits at the top of our list of the best soundbars thanks to its crisp, immersive sound, improved bass performance and the addition of Bluetooth connectivity and convenient, repositioned onboard controls.

James Bond game 007 First Light gets first trailer

Sony's showcase had a pleasant surprise: the debut trailer for 007 First Light. The James Bond game — which has some definite Uncharted vibes — doesn't have a release date, but is slated to launch some time in 2026. And while it was announced at a PlayStation event, the debut trailer confirms it's coming to Xbox, PC, and the Switch 2 in addition to the PS5. The game appears to be an origin story, as players will follow a much younger version of Bond, at least compared to the films. Hitman developer IO Interactive announced that it was working on the franchise way back in 2020, so it's been a long wait to see the actual game in action. The announcement also comes at an interesting time for the franchise overall, which is now under the Amazon umbrella.

Court denies Apple appeal in Epic Games case, keeping App Store changes in place

Apple was dealt a blow in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Wednesday, as a panel of judges denied the company's emergency application to halt changes to its App Store that resulted from the company's legal battle with Epic Games. Apple "bears the burden of showing that the circumstances justify an exercise of [our] discretion," according to the order. "After reviewing the relevant factors, we are not persuaded that a stay is appropriate." Last month, the iPhone maker asked the appeals court to pause an order from U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers that said that Apple could no longer charge a commission on payment links inside its apps nor tell developers how the links should look. Apple said the ruling from the judge could cost the company "substantial sums." The ruling has already shifted the economics of app development in the U.S. Developers including Amazon and Spotify have been able to update their apps to avoid Apple's 15% to 30% commission and direct customers to their own websites for payment. Amazon's iPhone Kindle app now shows an orange "Get Book" button that links to The rejection of Apple's stay signals that recent changes under the order can stay in place. Apple CEO Tim Cook has said that Apple would appeal Rogers' ruling. In April, Rogers found that Apple had violated her original court order from the Epic Games trial, which was originally decided in 2021, that forced Apple to make limited changes to its link-out policy. She issued a new, more expansive ruling, that told Apple to immediately stop imposing its commissions. The judge also alleged that Apple had misled the court. "We are disappointed with the decision not to stay the district court's order, and we'll continue to argue our case during the appeals process," an Apple spokesperson said in a statement. "As we've said before, we strongly disagree with the district court's opinion. Our goal is to ensure the App Store remains an incredible opportunity for developers and a safe and trusted experience for our users." CNBC has reached out to Epic Games for comment.

Save $59 on the Ember Tumbler and keep your coffee hot anywhere!

We often feature the Ember Mug 2 in our deals, but there is one major downside to that model. It isn't really made to be taken with you out and about. The Ember Tumbler is the best solution if you want to take your hot drinks out of the home or office. The thing is, I am not happy about paying $179 for it. That said, it's on sale, and you can currently get it for $119.99! Buy the Ember Tumbler for $119.99 ($59.01 off) This offer is available from Amazon. It's only available in Slate Black. If you want to take your coffee on the go, Ember has two options. The Ember Tumbler is the biggest, though, making it the most convenient option for coffee and tea lovers. It can hold 16 ounces, and the top can be sealed. The unit comes with two lids, one of which includes a handle, and the other one has a sipping slider. If you don't know about Ember mugs, these are smart mugs. They can keep your drink hot, at the perfect temperature, which you can pick in the official app. In the case of the Ember Tumbler, this temperature can range between 120 and 145 degrees Fahrenheit. It has an internal battery, which can last three hours on a full charge. This makes it an excellent option for commutes, picnics, and more. Especially if you can have a charging base at home, another at the office, or wherever you know you can recharge. It's a pretty nice tumbler, and it has an IPX7 rating, so you can safely wash it. In fact, you can submerge it as deep as one meter! I love how smart these things are. For starters, you can control the temperature, LED light, and more with the app. It can also sense when you are using it or pour liquid on it, and turn on by itself. The unit will remember your previously set temperature and default to it. Additionally, it will know when there are no liquids in it or you haven't used it in two hours and turn itself off. It's a seamless experience! I have the Ember Mug 2 14oz and absolutely love it. This one is bigger and much more portable, so it's even better! Though a bit pricier than one would usually pay for a mug or thermos, any coffee or tea lover will deem every penny worth it. Especially if discounted, such as today. At $119.99, it is only slightly pricier than the regular Ember Mug 2, so it's a worthy upgrade.
