Yee Lee breaks ground on RM150m automated logistics hub in Rawang
The 365,910 square feet facility will feature cutting-edge Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) technology, utilising computer-controlled robots and conveyors to maximise efficiency and storage capacity. This advanced system will automate inventory management whilst significantly improving operational productivity for clients across various industries.
The logistics hub has been designed to exceed the Integrated Logistics Services (ILS) criteria established by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). This prestigious certification requires a 60% local incorporation rate, a comprehensive '3+1' service structure covering warehousing, transportation, and value-added supply chain management, plus warehouse space exceeding 5,000 square metres supported by over 20 commercial vehicles.
'Only a handful of industry players achieve ILS certification, and Yee Lee will soon join this exclusive group,' said Lim Ee Young, Group Managing Director of Yee Lee Corporation, during the groundbreaking ceremony attended by representatives from Majlis Perbandaran Hulu Selangor (MPHS) and key business partners.
Environmental responsibility remains central to the project's design philosophy. The facility is on track to achieve GreenRE Gold Certification, joining fewer than ten industrial facilities in Selangor with such recognition. Sustainable features include:

Data Centre Investment Surges To RM144.4 Bln By March 2025 -- MITI
BUSINESS KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 (Bernama) -- From 2021 to March 31, 2025, Malaysia recorded 25 approved investment projects in the data centre sector, with a total investment value of RM144.4 billion. According to records from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), MITI said these projects were approved under the Digital Ecosystem Acceleration Scheme (DESAC) and are expected to create high-skilled, high-income jobs. 'These investments are projected to generate 1,429 new jobs, with roles requiring specialised expertise such as engineers, data scientists, big data analysts, cybersecurity engineers, and information technology (IT) engineers. 'Over 50 per cent of these roles will be high-income jobs, offering salaries of more than RM5,000,' MITI said in a written reply published on Parliament's website today. The ministry was responding to a question from Aminolhuda Hassan (PH–Sri Gading), who asked MITI to detail job opportunities arising from the expanding data centre sector and the potential economic and labour market impacts. On that front, the ministry said it will carry out a survey to assess the economic spillover effects of the data centre industry. 'MITI has identified several key parameters for data collection across four main segments in the data centre ecosystem. 'These include data centre companies and operators; major tech firms and content providers; telecommunications and mobile network operators; and equipment suppliers and service providers within the data centre industry,' it said. In addition, MITI noted that several leading global tech companies have committed to creating around 67,000 direct and indirect jobs, mainly in the IT sector and related supply chains, once their projects are fully implemented.

Nga Kor Ming demands apology over ‘white elephant' claims as MACC clears RM150 million MyKiosk project
Published on: Tuesday, July 22, 2025 Published on: Tue, Jul 22, 2025 By: Muhammad Yusry, FMT Text Size: As of July 2025, the occupancy rate for MyKiosk stood at 2,926 units (91.75 per cent), while MyKiosk 2.0 recorded an occupancy of 3,518 units (86.78 per cent). — Picture from Facebook/KPKT Kuala Lumpur: Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming today called on critics to apologise to his ministry after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) found no criminal elements in the MyKiosk project. Nga said the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (KPKT) had taken proactive steps by inviting the MACC to investigate the project following various allegations labelling it a 'white elephant' and other claims of mismanagement. 'There were previously various allegations labelling this project a white elephant and so on. Because of that, the KPKT took the initiative to invite the MACC to investigate. 'When the MACC didn't come to us, we went to them and handed over all the documents for their review,' he said during a question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat. Nga said the MACC subsequently issued a statement confirming that there was no abuse of power, no criminal elements, and no signs of corruption related to the project. 'So to those who threw stones, don't hide your hands. On behalf of all the hardworking KPKT staff who have been tirelessly helping the people, I demand that those who made slanderous accusations apologise,' he said. Nga added that the MyKiosk initiative, which aims to provide standardised, low-cost business premises for small traders, remains part of the government's agenda to support grassroots entrepreneurs. In May, Parti Pribumi Bersatu information chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz claimed that the MyKiosk project was wasteful and had turned into a white elephant. Selangor MCA Youth also lodged a complaint with the MACC, urging an investigation into the funding and implementation of the RM150 million MyKiosk project. Its chief, Tan Jie Sen, claimed that despite the large allocation, just over half of the kiosks were occupied. Nga said as of July 2025, the occupancy rate for MyKiosk stood at 2,926 units (91.75 per cent), while MyKiosk 2.0 recorded an occupancy of 3,518 units (86.78 per cent). * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
