Water released from Tandava Reservoir to irrigate ayacut in Anakapalle, Kakinada
Addressing the gathering, Ayyanna Patrudu said the reservoir would provide irrigation water to 51,465 acres, including 32,689 acres in Anakapalle, and 18,776 acres in Kakinada.
He noted that repairs and development works worth Rs 8 crore had been taken up last year. The reservoir, with a full capacity of 4.96 TMC, currently holds 2.92 TMC, which is sufficient for 60 days of irrigation.
Under the Home Minister's initiative, Rs 2.10 crore from the Disaster Relief Fund was used for 18 development works, and Rs 4.20 crore was sanctioned for 57 more works, of which 30 have been completed. Plans are afoot to construct a road from Nathavaram to the reservoir at a cost of Rs 8 crore.
The Home Minister said the reservoir benefits farmers in Tuni, Payakaraopet and Narsipatnam Assembly constituencies, providing water to 50,000 acres.

Maharashtra and Singapore review container port project, inaugurate data centre and announce industrial parks
Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi, along with his Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong, will inaugurate the single-largest container port in India at Uran later this year. On Tuesday, CM Devendra Fadnavis, along with Singapore's Dy PM Gan Kim Yong and transport minister Jeffrey Siow, held a review of the Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Phase 2. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The Port of Singapore Authority (PSA International) has invested US $1.3 billion, the highest ever by any country, to build the container terminal (4.8 million TEUs). It also has the longest wharf at 2,000 metres. The container terminal will bolster India's trade and maritime connectivity with other regions, said port officials. The politicians from the two countries toured the port facilities. Dy PM Yong also inaugurated CapitaLand Investment's new data centre in Navi Mumbai. CLI is investing US $453 million in this facility through its business trust, CapitaLand India Trust, said an official. An MoU was also signed between CLI and the Maharashtra govt. Outlining CLI's investment plans, Fadnavis said CLI, which has a major share in Manipal Health Enterprises Private Ltd, will build a multi-specialty hospital in Nagpur. A second MoU was signed between the Maharashtra govt and Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd, wherein the latter has committed to foreign direct investments equivalent to Rs 300 crore in the state through the development of industrial parks, logistics parks, and data centres.
