Marcos Acuna added River's third with a superb long-range shot in the closing minutes.
River Plate will face Platense in the next round.

Marcos Rojo joined the Argentine outfit from the Red Devils in 2021 after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford. 2 2 Boca have been on an awful run of form of late, having not won since their penalty shootout success against Lanus in May.
