POCATELLO, Idaho — Carson Towt totaled 24 points and 12 rebounds to help Northern Arizona defeat Idaho State 82-79 on Monday night in a Big Sky Conference regular-season finale.
The Lumberjacks (17-14, 8-10) placed seventh and will play No. 8 Eastern Washington in the first round of the conference tournament on Saturday in Boise, Idaho. Idaho State finishes fourth and has a bye until it plays No. 5 seed Montana State in the quarterfinals on March 10.

WEST LAFAYETTE — Purdue women's basketball filled a major gap at shooting guard through the transfer portal with a player who brings both talent and elite experience from the SEC. Former Arkansas guard Kiki Smith will join Purdue in 2025-26, Smith confirmed to the Journal & Courier. Advertisement Smith averaged 10.2 points and shot 40.6% from 3-point range. She started in 22 of 27 games during her sophomore year with the Razorbacks in 2024-25. Before attending Arkansas, Smith was named the 2024 NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Player of the Year and First Team All-American after leading Hutchinson Community College to the program's first NJCAA National Championship in 2024. On Wednesday, it was announced that the Spartans will also add Montana State transfer Marah Dykstra to their rebooted roster. Dykstra was a key member of the 2024-25 Montana State team that won the Big Sky Conference and made it to the NCAA Tournament. She is very familiar with a major MSU rival, Ohio State, who the Bobcats lost to in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Dykstra, a 6'2" forward who played three seasons at Montana State, averaged 12.4 points and 4.4 rebounds last year for the Bobcats while shooting 46.9-percent from the floor and 82.6-percent from the free-throw line.
