After his normal delivery remark, Suniel Shetty faces backlash once again for his ‘husband career banaega, wife should take care of kids' comment: 'He needs to stop talking...'

Suniel Shetty is facing backlash for his traditional views on marriage and parenting. He suggested wives should prioritize childcare while husbands focus on career building, sparking outrage online. This follows earlier criticism for his comments on C-sections. Social media users have deemed his views outdated and regressive, contrasting them with modern parenting ideals.
After sparking outrage earlier this year for calling C-sections 'comfortable,'
Suniel Shetty
has once again found himself at the centre of a social media storm. His recent comments about marriage and parenting roles—suggesting wives should focus on raising children while husbands build their careers—have drawn sharp criticism online, with many accusing the actor of promoting regressive views.
Views on Modern Marriages
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Suniel shared his views on modern-day marriages, suggesting that today's generation lacks patience in relationships. He explained that, over time, marriage becomes a compromise that requires mutual understanding and commitment. His remarks have stirred conversation and drawn mixed responses on social media.
Netizens Call Out Sexist Undertones
He further stated that once a child is born, it's important for the wife to understand that if the husband is focusing on building his career, she should primarily take care of the child.
While he acknowledged the husband's role as well, he emphasized that modern life comes with a lot of pressure.
The actor, who is gearing up for the new season of Hunter: Tootega Nahi Todega, admitted that much has changed over the years. He pointed out how the virtual world is now flooded with advice on parenting—dictating how to be a mother or father, what to eat, and how to live.
Shetty's remarks didn't sit well with many, sparking backlash across social media platforms, including Reddit.
Several users expressed disappointment and anger, calling his views regressive and out of touch with the realities of modern parenting and gender roles.
Social Media Backlash
While one user wrote, 'He needs to stop talking', another one added, 'Sometimes being quiet is the wisest thing, doesn't their PR team advice them ? or even people around them … Bro should learn from his damad (son-in-law)'. A user also commented, 'Don't get deceived by his looks or the kind of roles they play.
Suniel is ultimately 60+ and has a mindset similar to many people in his age group. This stands true for his contemporaries too'.
A user also commented, 'Still unacceptable. My dad's 65+ and more feminist than any of the men I know'. One mentioned, 'He has turned out to be such an unlikable person.'
Earlier this year, Suniel Shetty faced criticism for his controversial comment about the 'comfort' of C-sections, after praising his daughter Athiya for opting for a natural delivery. Actor Gauahar Khan strongly reacted to his statement, calling it misinformed and irresponsible—especially coming from someone who hasn't experienced childbirth firsthand.

The post also trolled the cast and crew of Saiyaara for hosting the film's success party in Singapore. Varun allegedly 'liked' it. Varun Dhawan's alleged Instagram activity has caught everyone's attention. As per some social media posts, Varun Dhawan had allegedly 'liked' an Instagram video dissing Saiyaara star Aneet Padda for her latest public appearance. The video was posted by Kamaal R Khan, who slammed Aneet for 'pretending' to be shy in front of paparazzi after allegedly calling them to the airport herself. While many posts claim that Varun had 'liked' the video, it seems to have been removed now. Kamaal said in the video, 'Film hit ho gayi hai toh Aneet ne drama karna shuru kar diya hai… Jab Aneet airport pe pohochi, toh wahan media wale khade the. Isne kaha mujhe bohot zyada sharam aa rahi hai, mujhe shoot na karein… Jab aapko sharam aati hai… aapne media walo ko paise deke wahan kyu bulaya?" Why is Varun Dhawan liking a video against #AneetPadda Reddit caught Varun and screenshot it before he removes Like Or is it because Varun was considered for #Saiyaara and Adi rejected him for younger actor? The thing is Varun doesn't even follow KRK and yet he liked this… — Redditbollywood (@redditbollywood) July 31, 2025 He also said, 'Yeh jo film hit hui hai na, voh ek tukka hai. Aapme ek bhi gunn nahi hai heroine banne ka, toh hawa main mat udo kyuki kitni jaldi aap zameen par girogi aapko pata bhi nahi chalega." Kamaal also trolled the cast and crew of Saiyaara for hosting the film's success party in Singapore after 'earning most of the money from India'. Now why would someone who has spent over a decade in the industry be jealous from a newcomer, that too an actress who isn't even a threat to this guy in any way? — Gaurav (@Sidian_G) July 31, 2025 now why is Varun liking a hate post against Aneet and that too on KRK's page 💀— 🌸 (@byebiech) July 31, 2025 However, what caught everyone's attention was that Varun Dhawan had allegedly 'liked' the post. Several screenshots are now circulating on social media, showing that Varun had 'liked' the video. However, News18 could not verify this as the alleged 'like' cannot be seen or seems to have been removed now. Varun's fans defended the actor and said that he might have accidentally reacted to the video. Meanwhile, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Saiyaara is showing no signs of slowing down. The romantic drama, directed by Mohit Suri, continues its triumphant box office run. Having crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in just nine days, Saiyaara is now eyeing the Rs 300 crore club—an impressive feat for a film led by newcomers. The film, which was released on July 18, 2025, started modestly but quickly gained momentum thanks to strong word-of-mouth and a deeply emotional storyline. It follows the journey of Krish Kapoor, a struggling musician, and Vaani Batra, a soulful poet, as they navigate themes of love, loss, and healing. The chemistry between Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has been widely praised, marking a successful debut for both actors.
