Guwahati: After the successful showcase of Bihu and Jhumoir performances on a mega scale, it's time for Bagurumba, a folk dance of the Bodo community of the state, to take centre stage.
Over 10,000 performers from 26 districts will display this beautiful dance to the entire world in Nov, adding more glitter to the Bodo community's heritage.
Cultural affairs minister Bimal Boarh recently took stock of the preparations, including the costumes for the participants, instruments, and the master trainers responsible for training the performers.
Over 8,500 performers from across the state staged the mega Jhumoir performance in front of PM Narendra Modi and a delegation of 61 heads of missions led by external affairs minister S Jaishankar, who attended the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment and infrastructure summit in Feb.
PM Modi, after witnessing the performance, said he himself became the brand ambassador of northeastern culture and added, "Who would understand the smell and quality of tea better than a chaiwallah?"
In 2023, Assam created history by setting a Guinness World Record for the "largest Bihu dance performance in a single venue." The event, held at the Sarussajai Stadium in Guwahati, involved 11,304 dancers and drummers (dhulia). This celebration of Bihu, Assam's spring festival, also marked the beginning of the Assamese New Year. PM Modi attended the performance.

Optical illusion: Only a true foodie can spot the 2 odd items in under 12 seconds

Food lovers, test your observation skills with this fun optical illusion! A picture filled with hotdogs, burgers, ketchup, and mayonnaise hides two odd items. Can you spot a bottle of mustard sauce and a hotdog with ketchup in under 12 seconds? This challenge isn't just fun; it's a brain workout that improves concentration, observation skills, and short-term memory. If there's one thing food lovers are good at, it's spotting their favourite treats from a mile away. But today's challenge isn't about making you hungry (well, maybe just a little), it's about testing your foodie instincts with a fun optical illusion. In the image in front of you, you'll see a mouth-watering spread of hotdogs, ketchup, mayonnaise, and burgers. Everything looks perfectly normal at first glance. But wait, not everything here belongs. Hidden among these tasty treats are two odd items that don't quite match the rest. Here's the catch: you have just 12 seconds to find them. Are you ready to put your food-spotting skills to the test? Image Credit: 1337 Games Why is this illusion tricky This challenge works because your brain is wired to recognise patterns quickly. When the image is filled with similar-looking food items, your mind automatically groups them together, making it harder to notice the differences. Add the time pressure, and suddenly it's a lot tougher than it sounds. Hints to help you If you're struggling, here are two clues: One of the odd items is a bottle, but it's not the usual ketchup or mayonnaise. The other odd item is a type of food you'll find in the image, but with a small twist. The big reveal Time's up! Could you spot them? The two odd items are: A bottle of mustard sauce - hiding among the ketchup and mayo bottles. A hotdog with ketchup - different from the plain hotdogs shown everywhere else. Image Credit: 1337 Games These sneaky additions blend in so well that most people miss them on the first try. Only those with a keen eye for detail, and maybe a strong love for food, can catch them in under 12 seconds. Why optical illusions like this are good for you Sure, these challenges are fun, but they also give your brain a mini workout. Spotting differences in images improves concentration, observation skills, and short-term memory. Studies also suggest that such puzzles can help keep the mind sharp and reduce stress levels. Accusers slam Sean 'Diddy' Combs' plan to counsel abusers, call it 'mockery of the system'

Sean 'Diddy' Combs' future is uncertain as he faces serious legal trouble and growing criticism from his accusers. While he hopes to rebuild his career, many believe his plans are unrealistic and view his recent actions as an attempt to reduce his prison time rather than take responsibility. Sean 'Diddy' Combs' plan sparks anger Diddy's recent proposal to work as a counsellor for domestic abusers has sparked outrage among his accusers. According to Rolling Stone, they believe the music mogul needs serious therapy himself, not a platform to guide others. Sean 'Diddy' Combs faces up to 20 years in prison Last month, Diddy was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges but was found guilty on two counts of 'transportation to engage in prostitution.' He faces up to 20 years in prison and has already been denied bail several times over public safety concerns. His sentencing is set for October 3. Douglas Wigdor, attorney for Diddy's ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura—who testified against him—called the idea of him counselling abusers 'utterly preposterous.' Another alleged survivor described it as 'manipulation at its best,' adding, 'It's a mockery of the system and of everyone he's hurt. He needs intensive therapy.' Despite the possibility of a long sentence, Diddy remains hopeful. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said the rapper wants to get back to making music in his studio. However, industry insiders told RadarOnline that it's unrealistic to think he can simply walk out of prison and return to the music and business world he once dominated.
