Bus passenger 'couldn't escape' woman who filmed her and called her a 'nonce'
A woman filmed a bus passenger and called her a "paedophile" and a "nonce". The innocent victim had nowhere to go and couldn't "escape" the harassment, a court heard. Stacey Caddick, 33, wrongly believed the victim had been taking photos of children but Caddick accepted she had dealt with the situation in a "clumsy way". Caddick, of Hirnant, Penrhosgarnedd, Bangor, admitted harassment at Caernarfon Magistrates Court. Today the justices gave her a 16-week jail term but suspended it for 12 months because she looks after her father, who has dementia. You can sign up for all the latest court stories here The court heard Caddick began the harassment at Caernarfon bus station on Pool Side on March 21. Prosecutor Hannah Williams played Caddick's mobile phone footage. In the footage Caddick accused the victim of having taken photos of children. She called the woman a "paedophile" and a "nonce" as the woman denied the claims and told Caddick she was "telling lies". Caddick was then heard threatening the woman telling her she would have "booted" her, if she wasn't on the bus. Caddick also tells the woman she should "get back to her own country". The prosecutor Ms Williams today said it had been an "unpleasant" and "sustained" incident, adding: "She did not have the opportunity to escape". Ms Williams said no allegations about the woman have been made to police and that "nothing of that nature has occurred". Caddick pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause harassment, alarm or distress. Deborah Tennant-Davies, defending, said: "She (her client) was in Caernarfon about to board a Transport for Wales bus going towards Bangor. Whilst waiting she witnessed several children running around the corner" who appeared to be "upset". Caddick then started filming the victim (on her phone), who was nearby. Ms Tennant-Davies said Caddick confronted her victim and started the filming as a result of what the children said and as a result of a Facebook post. Ms Tennant-Davies said: "I said (to Caddick) I understand where you are coming from but this is not the correct way of dealing with the situation. "She (Caddick) said 'I thought I was doing the right thing. I have gone about it in a very clumsy way.' " "She (Caddick) was very emotional about it. The solicitor added that the defendant helps to care for her father who is in the advanced stages of dementia. She helps to get him up, dressed and washed and the effects have had an impact on her own mental health. "She is not coping well," added Ms Tennant-Davies. Today the court heard Caddick had had a 12-month community order imposed in May after being convicted of two shoplifting offences but has "disengaged" from the probation service. Her appointments are at 9am when she has to help her parent. She is on methadone as a former heroin addict, and admitted to taking cannabis which could be having an adverse effect on her mental health, the court heard. Bench chairman Susan Jones told the defendant the harassment offence had been "sustained" and was committed in a public place, with children present. Suspending the prison sentence, and revoking the community order, she ordered Caddick to do 20 days of rehabilitation activity. She also ordered Caddick to pay £100 compensation to her victim.

BBC Strictly star Seann Walsh left shaken as strange man jumps into his car
Comedian and former Strictly Come Dancing star Seann Walsh has recalled a terrifying moment where a stranger jumped into the passenger seat of his car in London Strictly Come Dancing alumni Seann Walsh and Michelle Tsiakkas have both spoken out about separate frightening incidents they recently experienced in London. Comedian Seann Walsh, who appeared on Strictly in 2018, described a disturbing moment when a stranger attempted to get into his car while he was stopped at a red light. Sharing the experience on Instagram, he wrote: 'New in the adventures of living in London: today whilst waiting at the lights in my car, a guy walked up to my car, opened the passenger side door and went to get in.' It comes after Seann, 39, had his phone stolen in london before it travelled across the globe. Of the latest terrifying ordeal, Seann said: "Luckily, the traffic lights had changed and I could drive off. It's beginning to feel like I'm living in Grand Theft Auto.' This happened just weeks after Walsh was mugged. At the time, he posted: "My phone was stolen (yes out of my hand and yes, I live in London) a week or so ago and it is now in China if anyone happens to be passing by,' alongside a screenshot showing his phone's new location. Meanwhile, professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas, who joined the Strictly cast in 2022, also shared a troubling experience of being mugged in the capital. In a video posted to Instagram, she said: "Hi guys, so I wanted to just make this video to let you know something that happened to me the other day in London. "Now this was a couple of days ago and I've just about mentally recovered from that. It was quite traumatising on the day. It wasted my whole day and made me feel awful, scared, helpless and I don't want the same to happen to you." Tsiakkas explained she had been heading to a dentist appointment near Covent Garden when the incident occurred. She continued: "It was early morning… I whipped out my phone to check the directions. A man on an electric bike came up from behind, swept past me and grabbed my phone." "My heart just sank. I tried to reach for it, which made me fall and graze my knee. I screamed, 'Give me back my phone,' but he just rode off. He was wearing a mask and moving too fast to identify or follow." Tsiakkas said two women nearby helped her afterward, and she thanked them for their kindness during the distressing moment. Meanwhile, Seann competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 where he was partnered with professional dancer Katya Jones. The comedian's time on the show was overshadowed by controversy after he was photographed kissing Katya, who was married at the time, during a night out. The incident caused a media frenzy, leading to public apologies from both Walsh and Jones. Seann later revealed the fallout had a lasting impact on his mental health and career. Despite the drama, the pair continued in the competition for several more weeks before being eliminated. The scandal remains one of the most talked-about moments in the show's history.

In a witness statement to police, Louis said that "on the whole", has " the relationship had been "abusive'. In the early hours of Christmas Day, Carless and drunk alcohol and taken cocaine before she headed to Louis' parents' home. She asked the taxi driver to wait outside as she would only be a minute before she launched into the brutal attack. Carless claimed she only phoned him to see if he had taken money from inside a card at her home and went round to get the cash back. She said she had no recollection of stabbing him and was "not a violent person". Carless told the court: "I remember being in the conservatory, that was it the next thing I knew I was in the kitchen. 'Louis was sat on the floor. Then I panicked and ran off.' Carless denied murder and possessing an offensive weapon. She also pleaded not guilty to one count of intentional strangulation and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to the incident on November 11, 2024.
