PGA Tour pro Wesley Bryan suspended for playing in LIV golf-backed YouTube event
The PGA Tour has suspended Wesley Bryan for playing in a LIV Golf-backed event two weeks ago.
The tour has not commented, though Bryan told the website Monday Q, which first reported the suspension, that he doesn't know how long it will last and indicated that he would follow the tour's appeals process.

Bryan, 35, is attending but not competing this week in the Corales Puntacana Championship in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, where he finished second last year to Billy Horschel.
It is on the schedule opposite the RBC Heritage, which Bryan won in 2017 in his native South Carolina for his lone PGA Tour victory.
He no longer has full tour status and has played in three events in 2025 as recently as March, missing two cuts — the exception a tie for 25th at the Farmers Insurance Open in January. Bryan is 169th in the FedExCup standings (31 points) with $75,068 in official earnings.
He and his brother, George, have become popular for creating content on a YouTube channel, with videos featuring trick shots. Wesley Bryan participated in two PGA Tour influencer events in the past year, including in March, Golf Digest reported.

The Bryan brothers competed in a similar event run by LIV Golf — a rival to the PGA Tour — the week before the Masters at Doral called 'The Duels: Miami.' George Bryan and partner Sergio Garcia of the LIV tour won the nine-hole scramble on the first playoff hole.

The event, featuring six LIV golfers and six YouTube creators, had a $250,000 purse and was streamed on Grant Horvat's YouTube channel.
All of the creators were informed through a third party there could be disciplinary action from the PGA Tour, according to the Monday Q report. Only Wesley Bryan was suspended, per the report, on the day after The Duels went live on Horvat's channel.

Bryan told Monday Q that he doesn't regret playing in The Duels.
'That video is one of the most powerful videos in YouTube golf.' Bryan said. 'We are going to continue to support Grant and grow the game through YouTube.'
He also showed gratitude for his career on the PGA Tour.
'For the last eight or nine years, the opportunities have been amazing,' Bryan said. 'I'm extremely grateful to the Tour for that. I don't want this to be the end of my professional golf career.'
Bryan has made 68 cuts in 134 career PGA Tour events, with five top-five finishes and nine top-10 finishes.
A native of Columbia, S.C., who played at the University of South Carolina, Bryan turned professional in 2012, joined the tour in 2017 and has earned $5,247,630 in official money, per the tour.

How does the LIV Golf Team Championship work? Here's a quick explainer
Do you need a quick explainer before LIV Golf arrives in Michigan? Don't worry, we have you covered. LIV Golf, the Saudi-backed golf tour, is holding its first tournament in Michigan from Friday, Aug. 22, to Sunday, Aug. 24, at The Cardinal at Saint John's Resort in Plymouth, Michigan. This will be the final event of LIV's 2025 14-tournament schedule, and it will constitute a team championship. We'll get into what that means in a little bit. LIV features some of the most famous golfers in the world, including Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Bubba Watson, Sergio Garcia and Brooks Koepka. Spanish golfer Jon Rahm just claimed his second-straight individual championship last Sunday, Aug. 17 in Indianapolis, despite not having won a tournament all season. So, if Rahm has already won the tour's title, why is there still one more tournament? Let's explain: How does LIV Golf work? Unlike the PGA Tour, LIV Golf crowns both an individual champion and a team champion through a point system across its 14 international tournaments. LIV's 54 players are spread out among 13 teams of four golfers (with reserve and "wild card" players also on the tour), many of which from countries like Spain, Australia and South Africa. Each three-day tournament features a standard 54 holes, and the player with the lowest score wins the tournament title and 40 points towards their overall total. The second-place finisher from each tournament gets 30 points and third place earns 24, with lower finishers earning a sliding scale of points. The four-person team with the lowest combined score after each tournament also takes home a title, with the first-place team earning 32 points towards their title. The second-place team earns 24 points and the third-place team earns 16 points. LIV crowns an individual champion after its 13th tournament (Rahm won this year's title). Since the Michigan tournament will be its 14th and final event of the 2025 season, we're going to focus on the team tournament format. Team Championship Michigan format While most LIV tournaments use the more common stroke-play format, the Michigan tournament will use a modified match-play format, where teams will face head-to-head in a six-match quarterfinal on day 1, a three-match semifinal on day 2 and a three-team final on day 3. Only 12 of the 13 teams will participate in the final tournament, with the two lowest-seeded teams battling in a play-in match for the chance to compete in the team championship. Friday and Saturday will feature three match-play rounds, with two individual contests and one foursome contest per matchup. Teams will be seeded, with the higher-seeded teams getting to choose their opponents for the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. Six winners will move on from Friday's play and three will move on from Saturday's play, with players from losing teams able to continue playing through Saturday and Sunday for prize money allocation. Sunday's event moves from a match play to a stroke-play format, with all four players from the three remaining teams contributing to their team's overall score. Whichever of the three teams with the lowest combined score at the end of the round is declared the winner. So ... where do these teams stand? LIV Golf team standings Here are the team standings entering Team Championship Michigan: Legion XIII, which features captain and individual champion Jon Rahm, has a commanding lead over the field entering the final tournament and will get the first opportunity to choose its opponent for the quarterfinal round. Second-place Crushers GC is lead by its captain DeChambeau, while Garcia leads the third-place Fireballs GC. When is LIV Golf Michigan? The LIV Golf Team Championship in Michigan will take place from Friday, Aug. 22 to Sunday, Aug. 24 at The Cardinal at Saint John's in Plymouth. Here are the tee off times for each round: Friday, Aug. 22: 12:05 p.m. ET (quarterfinals). Saturday, Aug. 23: 10:05 a.m. ET (semifinals). Sunday, Aug. 24: 1:05 p.m. ET (finals). YouTube Music at 10 wants to make fandom more interactive
Joe Maring / Android Authority TL;DR YouTube Music is celebrating 10 years with new features, including playlist comments. The update also brings daily refreshed 'taste match' playlists and more concert info via Bandsintown. Fans will be able to earn more badges and help push official videos to milestone view counts. Just yesterday, we dug through the YouTube Music app and found evidence that playlist comments were coming. Less than 24 hours later, YouTube has announced the feature. We'll let you decide if that's a coincidence or not, but it was the tip of the iceberg in terms of the anniversary updates. In a blog post celebrating 10 years of YouTube Music, the company confirmed that you'll soon be able to leave comments directly on albums and playlists, among other fan-focused updates. That means, as well as streaming someone's carefully curated mix, you'll be able to chime in, debate, or maybe regret sharing your hot take on their tracklist. Don't want to miss the best from Android Authority? Set us as a preferred source in Google Search to support us and make sure you never miss our latest exclusive reports, expert analysis, and much more. That's only the start. YouTube is rolling out 'taste match' playlists, which are automatically refreshed each day based on the combined listening habits of everyone who joins them. The company is also expanding its partnership with Bandsintown, so you'll see more concert info baked into YouTube and YouTube Music. Artist pages, Shorts, and videos will soon surface nearby tour dates, and you'll even get notifications when new shows, merch, or releases drop. And for superfans, YouTube is adding more ways to show off. New badges like the recently introduced 'First to Watch' and 'Top Listener' are on the way, giving you more ways to flex your loyalty, while video milestone alerts highlight when an official music video is about to hit big numbers so you can help push it over the line. With over 300 million tracks and four billion playlists already in the wild, YouTube Music is calling these updates the start of its next chapter. It's not uncommon to see apps becoming more of a social platform these days, and we'll be keen to find out what regular users think of these additions. Follow
