#SHOWBIZ: TVB star Kelly Fu's durian feast in Malaysia: 12 pieces in one go

HONG KONG: Popular Hong Kong actress Kelly Fu and actor Owen Cheung, co-stars in TVB's crime drama D.I.D. 12, were recently in Malaysia for a promotional event.
Sin Chew Daily reported that both actors indulged in local food, with Fu particularly enjoying durians – she apparently ate 12 pieces in one sitting.
Cheung, however, wasn't a fan of the 'king of fruits' and felt rather uncomfortable after tasting just one piece.
The 37-year-old TVB Best Actor shared his relief: "Fortunately, I got to have a delicious bowl of prawn noodles at a small shop."
Fu also spoke about her culinary adventures, saying, "I tried ikan bakar with sambal sauce, as well as patin fish and sambal sauce. It's so fragrant, and it goes really well with rice."
A fan of spicy food, Fu even bought jars of sambal as souvenirs.
The 40-year-old actress described filming D.I.D. 12 as an unforgettable experience.
She praised Cheung's support, especially during intense emotional scenes, and also appreciated him keeping the air conditioning on during hot days on set.
In the series, Cheung plays a brilliant but volatile detective who struggles with Dissociative Identity Disorder, while Fu takes on the role of a criminal psychologist.

The 31-year-old welcomed a baby girl, affectionately known as Baby R, with her non-celebrity husband Cedric in April. The couple tied the knot in 2023. In her post, Ho expressed gratitude for the support provided by the confinement centre, especially as both she and Cedric are first-time parents. 'I had a relaxed and happy confinement period. Life is slowly returning to normal, and I look forward to watching Baby R grow up healthy day by day,' she wrote. In the video, Ho was seen getting out of a car that was specially arranged to pick her up from the hospital. Upon arrival, she was greeted with a fully prepared suite, complete with baby clothes and other necessary supplies. 'All I had to do was check in,' the TVB star said. Throughout her stay, Ho received round-the-clock care from a dedicated nurse for both herself and her newborn. She was also pampered with daily foot soaks, traditional Chinese medicine consultations for body recovery and six nutritious meals a day – each tailored to her needs by a nutritionist. To further elevate the experience, the confinement centre brought in a Michelin-starred chef to prepare her postpartum meals, which included ingredients such as fish maw and abalone. Additionally, Ho was treated to daily facials and body contouring treatments to help her regain her pre-pregnancy figure. She also received personalised coaching for yoga. After each workout, the actress didn't even have to lift a finger, even when she wanted to wash her hair as there would be employees assigned to help her do so. 'It's a queen-level indulgence,' Ho summed up her experience. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Regina Ho 何依婷 (@reginahyt)

HK actor Louis Fan ate 7 durians during 3-day stay in Malaysia: 'Too delicious'

Hong Kong actor Louis Fan took advantage of the durian season to indulge in the King of Fruits during his time in Malaysia. Photos: Louis Fan/Xiaohongshu Hong Kong actor Louis Fan recently visited Malaysia to support his wife, Chinese artiste JJ Jia, during her concert in Genting Highlands on July 19. During his stay, Fan, 52, took advantage of the durian season to indulge in the King of Fruits. In a recent update on Xiaohongshu (Red Note), the martial arts star shared several photos of himself enjoying durians in Malaysia. He also made a stop at the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, snapping a photo to mark the visit. 'Finally experienced the joy of durian freedom. I ate four durians a day and had seven in just three days. Freshly picked Musang King from the tree is too delicious,' he wrote in his post. While Fan's durian enthusiasm delighted many fans, some pointed out that in Malaysia, durians are typically left to fall naturally from the tree when ripe to ensure the best flavour and texture. 'In Malaysia, we usually let the durian fall naturally instead of picking them from the tree,' said one netizen. Another joked: 'Why does he look so much like Louis Fan?' 'Welcome to Malaysia,' added a third. Fan is best known for his performances in the films Riki-Oh: The Story Of Ricky (1991) and Ip Man (2008), as well as its 2010 sequel. He has also starred in several TVB dramas including Demi-Gods And Semi-Devils (1997), In The Realm Of Fancy (2003) and more.
