After the game, MLB highlighted a rare achievement from the Red Sox.

Giolito followed up a strong performance on Sunday by Brayan Bello, who pitched seven scoreless innings against the Yankees, allowing just three hits while striking out eight. The bullpen also came through in both games, retiring the final 15 batters combined.

With this stretch of pitching dominance, the Red Sox now rank 17th in MLB with a 3.91 team ERA, just behind the Twins at 3.86 and Phillies at 3.87.

Two other notable moments came out of Monday's win. It marked Boston's first game without Rafael Devers, who was traded to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday night.
It also featured the first major league home run by outfielder Roman Anthony. His first-inning blast to center field turned out to be the difference in the game.
The Red Sox have quietly become one of the hottest teams in baseball, winning eight of their last ten. With improved pitching, emerging young talent and a clear focus on development, Boston looks poised to make a second-half push in the American League playoff race.

Nick Castellanos was benched by Phillies manager Rob Thomson on Tuesday for "an inappropriate comment" the outfielder made after he was pulled for a defensive replacement a day earlier, ending Castellanos' streak of 236 consecutive starts. "One of the things about Nick, one of the many things about Nick that I love is that he is very emotional," Thomson said before Tuesday night's game at Miami. "He loves to play. He loves to play every inning of every game. I just thought last night he made an inappropriate comment after he came out, and so today he's not going to play. And I'm going to leave it at that." An All-Star in 2023, Philadelphia Phillies slugger Nick Castellanos has been instrumental in the team's success in recent years, playing a pivotal role on offense and helping lead the team to the World Series in 2022 and playoff appearances in 2023 and 2024.
