Brewers win 12th game in a row — and earn all of Wisconsin free burgers
The team picked up its 12th straight win on Wednesday in a 12-5 victory over the Pirates, securing free burgers for the entire state of Wisconsin from local chain George Webb and putting the Brewers on the cusp of tying a franchise record for consecutive wins.
The promotion dates back to the 1940s, when George Webb predicted the Milwaukee Braves would win 12 games, according to its website.

'Back in the 1940s, George Webb boldly predicted a 12-game winning streak for Milwaukee's team—first the Braves and later the Brewers—and famously said the city deserved a free burger if it ever happened. He didn't promise it outright—but here in Milwaukee, promises are kept,' the company website reads.
Webb has had to honor its word twice since then, first when the Brewers set the record for 13 straight wins to start the 1987 season, seeing the restaurant chain give out 168,000 burgers, and then again in 2018 when the team won 12 consecutive games.
The restaurant gave out 90,000 free burgers plus 100,000 redeemable vouchers in the latter instance.
The chain said Wednesday that it would announce the date for the promotion on Thursday.
The Brewers' latest win upped their record to an MLB-best 76-44.

ESPN's Jesse Rogers reported that during the Brewers' winning streak, the team has scored 103 runs to become the second franchise in the last 80 seasons to score at least 100 runs during a 12-game winning streak.
The Brewers also scored 12 or more runs in back-to-back games for the first time since 2018.
Milwaukee will have a day off on Thursday before it looks to tie its franchise record on Friday against the Reds in Cincinnati.

However, they have since lost the lead as the Milwaukee Brewers have gone on a historic 14-game win streak. The Cubs entered Sunday trailing the Brewers by nine games in the division. The Brewers have put together two separate win streaks of at least 11 games. The Cubs had hopes of winning the division and Craig Counsell got brutally honest about the Brewers stopping them. "The job is to try to win the division. That's kind of the ultimate goal. They're making that really difficult," Counsell said before the Cubs' Saturday game. "They're making that part of the goal really hard to get to." CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - AUGUST 06: Craig Counsell #11 of the Chicago Cubs looks on against the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field on August 06, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois. The Cubs do not have to win the division to play in October, but the Brewers could force them into a tough path into the postseason. The Cubs entered Sunday with a 4 1/2-game lead for the top wild card spot. They will have a chance to cut into the Brewers' lead with five games against them in the coming week. The Brewers are baseball's hottest team and have the best record in the league as well. Obviously, Counsell was the longtime manager for the Brewers and his decision to join the Cubs was highly controversial. While his former team looks like a World Series contender with a lower payroll, the Cubs have struggled greatly as of late. The Cubs missed the postseason last year while the Brewers won the division. The Cubs invested heavily in Counsell and acquired Kyle Tucker in the offseason. Losing the division again would be a tough pill to swallow. More MLB: Dodgers' Dave Roberts Breaks Silence On Viral Beef With Padres' Mike Shildt
