EGA joins Dubai Future Forum's network of sponsors

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), one of the world's largest aluminium producers, has signed an agreement with the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) to become an official sponsor of the Dubai Future Forum, the world's largest gathering of futurists, held annually in Dubai.
By joining the forum's network of sponsors, EGA reinforces its commitment to future-readiness, knowledge exchange, and global collaboration in shaping the future of industry and advanced manufacturing. The agreement was signed by Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of DFF, and Abdulnasser Ibrahim Saif Bin Kalban, CEO of EGA, in the presence of senior representatives from both organisations.
Strengthening Future-Focused Industry Engagement
As a sponsor, EGA will play a key role in the forum's discussions, contributing its expertise in industrial innovation, advanced manufacturing, and technological transformation. The company will participate in keynote sessions and panel discussions, where its executives will highlight EGA's strategic vision and leadership in industrial advancements.
Belhoul said: "Enhancing future readiness requires strong strategic partnerships and the exchange of expertise to accelerate research, development, and innovation. The Dubai Future Forum is a global platform that brings together key stakeholders to explore new possibilities and drive meaningful progress."

Skills Bahrain, an initiative under the umbrella of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), held the 'Future Skills – Manufacturing' event, bringing together key stakeholders from Bahrain's manufacturing industry to discuss the findings of the latest Manufacturing Sector Skills Report developed by Skills Bahrain. The Manufacturing Sector Skills Report sheds light on labor market trends, skills in demand and emerging jobs in the manufacturing sector, it also highlights the significant transformation in the skills landscape, driven by the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies. Among the most in-demand roles in the sector are Research and Development Scientists, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Experts, Materials Engineers, and Digital Transformation Specialists, along with other fast-growing jobs. The report also underscores the importance of mastering technical skills such as Data Analysis and Big Data Management, Machine Operation, and project management, reflecting the growing need to develop national talent capable of meeting the evolving demands of the manufacturing sector. As part of the event, a panel discussion brought together representatives from key stakeholders, including Mr. Ahmed Shaheen – Associate Director of Sector Skills Development Skills Bahrain, Mr. Khalid Salman Al Qassimi – Director of Industrial Development at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and Ms. Yusra Al Hussaini – Chief of Business Development and Lifelong Learning– Polytechnic Bahrain. The session explored emerging trends, key opportunities, and the critical skills and jobs shaping the future of the manufacturing sector—aimed at strengthening the readiness and competitiveness of the national workforce. Amer Marhoon, Managing Director of Skills Bahrain stated: 'Bahrain's manufacturing sector is a dynamic and diverse component of the national economy, currently undergoing substantial transformation driven by advancements in technology. As the sector continues to evolve, it is crucial to shed light on the importance of reliable data and insights that reflect current and future needs. This event brought together industry voices to shape future strategies. It was also essential in raising awareness about the key findings presented in the report. These insights help professionals across the sector guide workforce planning, align training efforts, and make informed decisions that contribute to sustainable industry growth.' Mr. Khalid Salman Al Qassimi, Director of Industrial Development, emphasized that the Industry Sector Strategy 2022– 2026 is built upon key pillars, including achieving sustainable growth for the sector, increasing its contribution to GDP, creating promising employment opportunities for citizens, and enhancing competitiveness at the local, regional, and global levels.

Dubai Aims for 30K Gaming Jobs in $200B Global Market

Dubai has flicked the switch on its developing gaming industry as it targets 30,000 new jobs and a $1bn GDP boost from the sector by 2033. The Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033 'DPG33' has announced that Dubai is home to more than 350 gaming companies, with 260 of them categorised as specialised game developers, contributing overall to a global industry valued at $200bn globally. Since the programme's launch in November 2023, more than 60 new companies have been established in Dubai of which 12 per cent are large global companies — marking a growth rate of 16.6 percent since the launch of the programme. The gaming industry has emerged as one of Dubai's most promising economic sectors in recent years. Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, said: 'The recent achievements in the Dubai's gaming industry reflects the success of the city's vision for its future economy — one built on economic diversification and the proactive investment in current and future development opportunities. Belhoul added: 'The gaming sector holds unprecedented economic potential, and Dubai was — and will remain — a land of opportunity and a destination for innovators and creators. The industry offers a wealth of unprecedented opportunities thanks to the supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs and innovative ideas in advanced technology sectors, particularly game development, which is a key driver in enhancing Dubai's global competitiveness and in achieving the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).' Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of DFF, launched the Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033 in November 2023, to position Dubai among the world's top 10 global gaming hubs over the next decade, with 30,000 new jobs and a $1bn boost to GDP by 2033. DPG33 focuses on nurturing talent and entrepreneurship, embracing technological advancements, and fostering digital content development, while creating training and employment opportunities with leading global firms and academic institutions, and leads a variety of local and international events, exhibitions, and partnerships that strengthen collaboration between individuals, businesses, and regulatory bodies in Dubai and beyond. EGA in deal to explore bauxite-related projects in Ghana

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) today (June 4) announced the signing of an agreement with Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) to explore opportunities to develop bauxite-related projects in the Republic of Ghana. The West African nation of Ghana has more than 900 million tonnes of bauxite resources, in one large and two smaller known deposits. It currently produces around 1.5 million tonnes of bauxite per year. Under the agreement, EGA and GIADEC will explore the potential for long-term bauxite off-take arrangements and collaboration on rail and port infrastructure to expand production. CEO Abdulnasser bin Kalban said: "This aligns well with EGA's goal of diversifying our sources of upstream supply as we grow our metal production, including in the US as we progress our plans to develop a greenfield primary aluminium production plant as announced during the recent state visit to the UAE of President Trump."
